Clark Funeral Home Posted January 7, 2010 Report Share Posted January 7, 2010 Carolyn Virginia Monk, age 84, of Dallas, GA, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010. She was born in Dallas, GA, March 15, 1925, to the late, Jones Clifford Cochran and the late, Eva Womack Cochran. Mrs. Monk was preceded in death by her husband, G. E. Buddy Monk and a great-granddaughter, Emma Caroline Cates. She was retired as a floral designer and was a member of Narroway Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Sherry & Steve Cates of Dallas; grandchild, Seth Everette Cates & wife, Libby of Dallas; great-grandchild, Elizabeth Joanna Cates; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Cochran of Snellville, Ruth Monk of Dallas, and Louise Cochran Jenkins of Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 9, 2010, at 2:00 PM, from Narroway Baptist Church, with Reverend Todd Tibbitts, Reverend Hershel Tibbitts, Reverend Johnathan Woodward and Mr. Kevin Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in Narroway Baptist Church Cemetery. Seth Cates, Kevin Kirby, Tim Carruth, Johnny Aiken, Wayne Kirby, Tim Alls, Kirby Alls, Terry Monk, Stacy Cochran and Chase Carruth will serve as pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Carruth, Charles Cooper, Max Tapley, Tony Dudley, Jimmy Abernathy, Gerald Cochran, Jeff Cochran, Rodney Cochran, Greg Cochran and Greg Monk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Clark Funeral Home, Hiram, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
