Clark Funeral Home Posted October 27, 2008 Report Share Posted October 27, 2008 Marvin Rackley, age 87, of Dallas, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2008. A native of Paulding County, he was born December 30, 1920, and was preceded in death by his parents, Warren S. & Nannie F. Rackley, and wife, Georgia G. Rackley. Mr. Rackley was a WWII Veteran of the U. S. Army and was retired from Georgia Power as a mechanic. He was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church. Survivors include his sons & daughters-in-law, Reverend Lamar & Dianne Rackley of Dallas, and Terry & Connie Rackley of Dallas; daughter & son-in-law, Ann & Tony Harris of Dallas; brothers & sister-in-law, Hollis Rackley of Dallas, and Homer & Myra Rackley of Dallas; sisters & brother-in-law, Clay Lee Rakestraw of Hiram, and Sarah & Melvin Dokey of Hiram; grandchildren, Mindy Sprayberry, Stacey McDaris, Tim Rackley, Jamie Lightner, and Brian Rackley; step-grandchildren, Justin Daniel and Jodie Alcarez; fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2008, at 2:00pm, from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Reverend Lamar Rackley and Reverend Danny Watters officiating. Interment will follow in New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Tim Rackley, Brian Rackley, Chuck Sprayberry, Larry Rakestraw, Jackie Rakestraw, and Ricky Rakestraw will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
