Got this rather detailed explanation of what's wrong with our politics and why. The basic idea is that attacking on divisive issues on which there is a rough 50-50 split (while avoiding issues where most American's are in agreement) is a winning political strategy and if you can keep the level of fear and ire high enough, political judgments based on the quality and competence of the governance are ignored. That means the generally recognized and agreed upon needs and concerns are ignored or given short shrift. Their take on the issue is contained in the title of the document:

The technology, which is projected to be 20 percent more efficient than current refrigeration systems, could be inside your fridge by the end of the decade. It is using water based fluid to transfer heat, not chemical refrigerants. That significantly lowers any harm to the environment and makes the recycling of old refrigerators simpler. "This is a big deal," says Venkat Venkatakrishnan, a leader of the research team. "We are on

As this documentary presented in the months before Edward Snowden made his revelations, the erosion of privacy in today's was in part based on the desire for security above all else. The problem is that bipartisanism actually does exist when it comes to building the surveillance society. I've watched this and given that one of the key guests is a Cato Institute fellow, you can rest assured that it is not some so-called liberal diatribe ... nor is it a conservative tome. Rather it is as the host maintains, what is next after what is next ... or an explanation of the trajectory we are on.

This blog post is comes from a discussion on Micky D's workers striving for $15/hr. I suggested that if they got that wage, the end result would be the creation of robotic fast food processes and the elimination of many of the low wage jobs that industry has. That notion drew some conversation and I did a data dump on the real scope of issue. http://paulding.com/forum/index.php?app=blog&module=post§ion=post&do=showform&id1=303871&id2=3835010&btapp=forums# It is okay to agree with me cptlo Not at all.
