  1. This has been a very hard loss for our family. Steve was a great man. He was a man of God, he loved his family, unconditionally. His children were the Jewels on his crown. He was so very proud of all of them. They are devastated. He loved those grandchildren. He was very involved in their lives. They will miss their Paw-Paw Steve. Several years ago he re-stored his friendship with his exwife, the mother of his 4 children. Now, they are apart again. As a big brother, I could not have asked for a better one.I know cheryl feels the same way. And we are lost without him. His 3 nieces & Nephew will miss him terribly. He was an awesome uncle. and his 2 great Niece & nephew, they loved him so much. As a son, he was a great one. Mom & Dad were always very proud of him. Losing a child, there is nothing worse. We all are heartbroken. Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts.

    Love to all,

    The Duke Family

  2. It happened pretty much less than a minute when I started the topic......the call for the air ambulance to be cancelled was while I was typing the post....The wreck was probably down the road from the intersection.....I just hope whoever they were going to put on that helicopter is okay. I posted that 25 minutes ago.

  3. I am listening to the PCSO scanner, they are calling for a life flight to land at Baker's Bridge & Ridge Raod. Anyone know what is going on?? Don't sound good.....

Just heard them say the "air ambulance" can't fly out from Emory due to bad weather....YEEKS! That can't be good!

  4. I was very shocked by this. I have know Pat for 9 years. worked with him, and he was always a outstanding officer. And a great person from what I knew. Something must have happened in his life, or either he was a totally different person away from work. Praying that he can get his life in order from here on out. Prayers for his children too.

  5. I am looking for homes or business's to clean. I am a life long Paulding resident, Christian lady, mother, and Grandmom. I have plenty of references. I will do residential cleaning,Business cleaning, new home cleaning, and move out cleaning. I will do a great job at a fair price. Please just send me a PM. Thanks! :D

  6. I hope he gets the help he needs, for sure. Depression is hard thing to deal with. I heard the call on the PCSO scanner Sunday night. (I wondered if it would come out.) I heard the supervisor on duty from the PCSO, request that all traffic (radio traffic) reguarding Glenn Richardson only be transmitted via cell phones. I knew immediatly it was to be kept quite if possible. Then today it was on the news....Someone could not keep there mouth shut. Maybe Glenn, or maybe not....He might not had a choice. I bet he didn't.......No matter what, I am glad he is doing well, and I pray he continues to do so. Summary is.........the truth always come out....and there is usually someone there that makes sure..........

  7. I know this has been talked about in the past, several times.............but I was sitting here board, not ready for sleep and was thinking about the good old days. Who remembers The Dairy Queen in Dallas, The Tastee Freeze, The Dixie Station, Denton's, and the Big D. And that was it, no Plaza, no Mcdonalds. That was our cruzin territory, and maybe up to The briar patch. Remember when the Briar Patch was Vaughn's restaurant??? I do...........................the good old days!

  8. I am so relieved that they finally found her.........This is one of the most heart wrenching story's I have ever heard. May god bless the family. And hopefully someone will come clean and take responsibility for what happened. It was over due!!!!!!! Like 6 months! Enough is enough don't yall think???? You know what I mean if you been following the events.......so sad :(

  9. Thanks all for your understanding....................It is just tough seeing Mom go through all this. we have tried to help, give her advice.......even offered to help her with the renting process. But I think she feels as though she might be giving up part of her independence kinda..........She wants to be in control. It is just a hard thing to deal with and see it keep happening over and over.

  10. I have to vent about this........or rather RANT! My mothers rental home was broke into last night. It has been empty for over a month now. The couple broke up and they moved out. Of course they left the place trashed. They left items of NO value at all. A bunch of trash basically. They had replaced the front door (my mother was not told anything about this) so, therefore she had no keys to the door. She has called and asked them several times to bring the keys to her or even mail them. BUT of course they never have. So the front door has been unlocked all this time. My mom just knew they would get her keys...........

Last night a "neighbor" called her and tol her that there was people at the empty rental house. Mom called the PCSO, they came out found no one. They told her the front door was unlocked and nothing looked weird or anything. Then I found out this evening the "neighbor" that called her, was arrested last night for a list of charges, yes I called the jail. Whoever was at that rental house last night, broke out the front window, tore the place up a bit, and there were 2 bull holes in the wall! Then to top it off the water heater was stolen. And the front door was locked when Mom went up there this evening. My nephew was with her and he crawled through the broke out window to get in.

First of all, people who treat widowed elderly people like this couple did to my Mom, you should hang your head low and know that KARMA is a bitch!! This of course is not the first time this has happened to her, because they sweet talk her, she wants to believe them.............anyways, it is like the 4th couple in 5 years to do this to her!! I am sick of it!! Grow up and have some damn respect for people! It is a shame when someone likes you and wants to trust you, and you lie to them and then trash their property! Enough!!!!

Then there is the "neighbor" that has took advantage of her 1 time before right after my Daddy died. He talked her into giving him money, with the poor sad story. Of course he still has not paid her back. And now he is in jail, anyone think that is fishy besides me??????? I am thinking it is! I am sick of people being so mean and heartless to our older folk. It takes some low down right dirty people to do that!!!!! And now she has a huge mess to deal with and not to mention how much $$$ it will cost her AGAIN!!!!!

  11. DirecTV is the best out there, head and shoulders above the rest. I've used them for 15 years of so and they provide customer service that is rare in this day and time.

I agree, I have had Direct tv for about 8 years, and I have 2 DVR's. I have NEVER had a problem with them, the only time it goes out for a very short time is when we have really severe lighting. I love Direct tv, and it is cheaper for me than Comcast, and I had comcast internet also. With bellsouth internet and direct tv it is still cheaper than Comcast. I say go with Direct TV.

  12. I have prayed for little Caylee and the family.I really wanted to believe that the little girl might be found alive. I got hooked in on the story on Nancy Grace. I have been watching pretty much every night for about 6 weeks. It is a huge mess of lies. The mother from what I have saw, has never gave any "truthful info" and if anyone ever knows the "true story" of what happened to that innocent little girl it would be a true miracle. Very sad for everyone.............no one more than little Caylee.

  13. I still see all sorts of parents driving their precious little babies to and from school everyday when a perfectly good school bus would pick most of them up. Gas isn't that expensive, obviously.

I have to agree with this also! Some of the children could catch the bus for sure! But, you have to consider that some of the parents have to leave for work before the bus gets to there home. And with the little ones K-4 (I would think) you can't leave them home alone! so there is two sides to that story...............
