  1. I imagine him to be a studdly tanned, dark haired man that you would find on a romance noval (paperback). Am I close. LOL

;) ;) I'll letcha know tomorrow...he's coming to give us an estimate! :p

Shuckins! Hubby has to meet him! Forgot I have appointments in the morning!

  2. I've heard you have to be careful with the cleaner around your pets, may be a hoax, I don't know, but check your labels.

I found this to rest your mind at ease:

In direct response to the e-mail's charge, Procter and Gamble posted a rebuttal:

There is a false Internet rumor circulating rapidly among pet owners alleging that Swiffer WetJet may contain antifreeze and is harmful to pets. The Wet cloths and WetJet liquid solution cleaners do not contain antifreeze or any ingredient similar to it. In fact, all Swiffer products are safe to use around pets.

We evaluated the Swiffer Wet cloths and WetJet cleaners to ensure they're safe — a fact confirmed by the ASPCA, independent veterinarians and scientists. In fact, for nearly five years, people in over 38 million U.S. homes have safely used Swiffer products on everything from the kitchen and living room floors to tables and ceiling fans.

We have pets too, and their health and well-being is very important to us. Please help us stop this rumor by sharing the truth with others.

The ASPCA's Animal Poison Control Center also issued a statement declaring this rumor to be unfounded:

Veterinary toxicologists at the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center have reviewed the claim described in a widely distributed email alleging a relationship between the use of Swiffer Wet Jet and liver failure in a dog. The email alleges that exposure to the ingredients in Swiffer Wet Jet caused a dog's death.

The Swiffer Wet Jet system contains water (90-100%), propylene glycol n-propyl ether or propylene glycol n-butyl ether and isopropyl alcohol (1-4%). These ingredients are safe to use around pets when used according to label directions and would not cause liver damage at product concentrations. Propylene glycol n-butyl/propyl ether differs significantly from ethylene glycol, the potentially toxic ingredient present in most antifreeze products. Ethylene glycol is frequently implicated in causing renal failure in dogs following antifreeze ingestion. Propylene glycol n-propyl ether and propylene glycol n-butyl ether are very safe ingredients at levels used in cleaning products and do not cause kidney or liver failure.

  3. I just don't know what to say...tearing up everytime I read about Lily and her babies...so just tell me where to send the money. If we aren't interested in another pup, should we just take the money to Hiram Animal Hospital? Would that make it easier for all involved in the logistics of manning this raffle?

  4. I know. I've been here for almost a month without so much as a nibble. It's really strange. I had no problem in California, but here it seems they just want you to file your resume over the net and don't want to meet you. Hmm, well, we'll see what happens.

    Cory,

My customer, Nationwide Credit, just told me they are having a Job fair at their facility next wednesday and thursday. This would be an excellent time for you to visit them in person!

  5. 11/18/85, 11:05 p.m. I was in an emergency room in Fredericksburg, VA, Dr. DeClue was the attending physician, treating me for a mid-term miscarriage. 11/18/86 I was in the same city, same hospital, same room when Dr. DeClue delivered my son...at 11:05 p.m. He decided that the room that I was in just the year before was a great place to give birth to my precious boy. Gift from God? Miracle? I surely think so.

Are all children a gift from God? Who knows...but every parent knows when they hold that little bundle in their arms for the first time, that there is nothing...NOTHING in the world that can change the course of our lives like that.

  6. i have a 6 year old step son who has a habit of taking things example a while back he took $2 dollars from my parents table,i took him in the store and was going to pay and the cashier asks me if i was paying for what he had put in his poket.i was so embrassed and angry at him and the weekend before last i had a $10 bill on the table and went to put it up and it was gone guess what it was in his poket.the sad thing is his daddy thinks nothing is wrong with this.he sees no wrong when it comes to him he never punishes him for anything and we have a 5 month old together and it bothers me that he sees no wrong in his children.how should i handle this?

OMG! My daughter went thru the same thing when she was about the same age. Everywhere we went she came home with a new "treasure"! The last time it happened (15 years ago), at the Cracker Barrell, I promptly made her give the candy necklace back to the clerk and drove DIRECTLY to the police station. I don't know what he told her (he wouldn't let me be in the room...guess he saw how livid I was) but to my knowledge, she hasn't done it again. You are RIGHT to be upset about his "habit", because let's face it...habits, both good AND bad are formed from a very young age. Stealing is neither cute nor acceptable behavior from anyone at any age. Stand your ground Sista!

  7. Thank you very much!

I hope that all who read your reply takes heed to it, because it is very true.

Like Lady Rader said: "Thank you for doing that! you could have very easily sold the bike for the money, and not thought 2x about it.

That was a very wise descision on your part!"

    Thanks, gird!

Thanks for all of your support on my "soapbox" decision NOT to sell my motorcycle. But please note...It's still for sale to the right person!

In all seriousness, now with Mr. Smith's untimely and sad death, I am convinced that it's the responsibility of everyone driving a vehicle, 2-wheeled or 4, to take their driving seriously...and get off the dayum phone while you're behind the wheel!!!!! Today I passed PCHS as they were getting out of school. 9 out of 10 of those teens (in their high dollar sports cars and SUV's  ) were on their cell phones!

  8. Reaction on a bike are a lot different than a car.

    1. You can not lock up your wheels

    2. You can not try to brake while turning. Traction to turn the bike is used up trying to stop it.

    3. You have to predict movement of every vehicle and try and plan an escape route if needed in a split second.

    4. Most bikers do not practice emergency manuvers as often as they should or attend refresher training

    5. Bikes are invisible to most motorist

    6. Cheez happens. Some things are unavoidable.

Yes I'm trained and yes I have spilled my bike. Yes I should attend refresher training.

    -_-

I recently attended the Rider's Edge course at Harley Davidson of Atlanta. After learning to ride on my small bike, I purchased a larger one and have my Honda 500 for sale. Well...this (for lack of a better term) crazy mother called and wanted to purchase the bike for her 16 year old daughter who's driver's license has been suspended (for God knows what) and wanted a cheap "fix" for her transportation issues. Well <sigh> after her total suprise at the thought of sending her daughter to the class and the COST (a mere $250.00), I told her that there was no way in hell I would sell her my motorcycle...or in her daughter's hands, suicide machine.

As mentioned above, there are many many factors that motorcyclist have to take into account that car's don't. Every time I ride, I say a prayer and know without a doubt that I'm far from exempt from the dangers of the road. I wish that everyone, both 4-wheelers and 2-wheelers, would do the same.

My heart goes out to all of the accidents involving motorcyclist over the past few weeks; both for the riders and the drivers of the vehicles involved. These are life changing events that truly touch the hearts and lives of so many people.

  9. My name is Cory Hosier and I have just arrived here from Southern California. I think 30 years is a long enough time to spend in a crazy and expensive place. I am asking for help from anyone who might know of any call centers that are currently hiring. I've heard there were many in the Atlanta area, but I just can't seem to find them and I need to find work quickly if I'm to remain here and grow.

I came to Dallas, Georgia by invitation of my dear friend and I knew it would be a financial risk but I feel it will be worth it in the long run, so I need the communities help so this can work. If not a call center for the meantime, then a job or two that can hold me over so I can keep afloat.

Thank you all in advance for your help!!

    -Cory

You may want to try Nationwide Credit Inc. ncirm.com. They are based in Kennesaw, GA. They are a credit and collection call center. Hope this helps.

  10. Good Morning Jabez, hope you had a great b-day.

  11. I am looking to put a tiolet, sink (shower, but not necessary) in a room in my basement, I have gotten a couple of quotes...not to bad but I want to see what else is out there. Even a quote to just stubb for tiolet would be ok, thank you so much.

Hi there. We did exactly what you're talking about last year. We didn't want to put in a pump so we found something that aired on an episode of "This Old House". It is called a Mascerator. We had a plumber install it and it works great! It services our master bath shower/toilet and sink. We've had no problems, no backups! You're welcome to email me at geri@grsandassoc.com if you want anymore info or if you'd like to come over and see it.

  12. Some info from a Newbie :)

    1. It's really NOT menopause setting in! The diet pills make me irritable!

    2. Suprisingly, empty nests aren't lonely at all when you're a Gemini!

    3. I hate seeing my parents grow old, but not as much as they do.

    4. I hit mid-life (41), have a bigger A$$ and chose to get a sports car??? I don't drive it, I wear it!

    5. I don't have friends, I just know people who don't beat me up :)

    6. After I finally realized that female wildlife pick their mates better than I did, I married the man of my dreams :)

  13. I just turned on the scanner and heard that 7 patients are being transported to Paulding. I have no idea what happened. With that many patients, I'm praying it wasn't a school bus. They had "Macland Command", which usually indicates a more serious accident.

If anybody knows anything, please post.

Hey DRosser...are you by chance my neighbor in Sherwood Forest?

  14. You know, there can be many eye witnesses to an accident, and there will just as many opinions as to what happened.

This thread is a good example of this.

At least we did find out what had happened and to avoid the area and pray .

If I may ask, do Gary and his lady friend live in Huntington Ridge? My husband and I ride too and live there and have met a couple who ride a bright blue Harley. Whom ever Gary and this lady are, I certainly send out my prayers.
