  1. Good for you for being innovative! I have totally screwed myself on a good cup of java by buying lactose free, sugar free, blah blah blah creamer. It's horrible! I'm a half & half girl trying to be healthy...but this just isn't working for me. Next cup gets a nice dose of chocolate :).

  2. Very sorry to hear about your grandmother. Neuropathy has taken it's toll on my father as well. While he does have diabetes, his has been attributed to his exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. He is numb...everywhere. It's very sad to watch! He is considered 100% disabled thru the V.A. and is receiving what I consider "ok" treatment. Don't get me wrong...he gets plenty of drugs but he's in pain all the time. The thought of him driving scares the hell out of me. The Cymbalta may be something he could try...I'll broach the subject with him. Good luck to your grandmother :)

  3. I don't know how to link it here, so if anyone can help out with that it would be great. It's simply hillarious!

Or search "hawaii chair on the Ellen show"

    I promise, you'll have a laugh :)

  4. Okay, I have a Min-Pin who really never makes alot of noise, until lately. He has started this terrible whining. For the past few days it is NON STOP. He doesn't need to go out, he doesn't need food or water. He was laying on the couch w/ me the other night, just steadily whining. It isn't a whine like when a dog is hurt, it isn't really a whimper, either. He is getting on my last dang nerve! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is he fixed? Could there possibly be a female in heat in the vacinity? That's what I would think. I have a female minpin aren't they just the cutest????

  5. LOL, kind of reminds me of that horribly unhappy woman who sits at the "customer service" <whatevah> counter at a certain cable company. Every time a commercial spewing all the wonderful aspects of C*****T Cable comes on, all I see is that very condescending snippy face, then go enjoy my AT&T DSL :) It's amazing how one person can make or break a company, one customer at a time.

  6. Rotti is a lot of things, but TRASH is NOT one of them. I'm sorry, tried to stay out of this thread, but I just couldn't help this one. You know what Busymom, when you represent an organization, you really do have a responsibility to that organization to use actions and personality skills that enhance that organization. I don't think it's Rotti who owes Jennifer an apology. But that's just my opinion.

  7. When you signed up for your 401(k) they should have let you know about the early withdraw penalties. They won't let you around those because they won't make money otherwise. You should NEVER tie up all of your $$ in a single investment, especially if you can't get to it quickly.

    You're so smart!

  8. Thomas,

You have just lost someone, who was not only a friend, but a comrade in what most of us would find to be intolerable conditions. Conditions that you did not ask for, nor did Ron. They just happened to be the only thing available in your times of struggle and need. I can say from having met Ron during my visits with you at the shelter, that he was not someone who made a living off of the system. He was a man of quiet demeanor, gratefulness for the smallest of things and an overall gentleman. The people that are so quick to pass judgement at such a sad sad time...well, what can I say. This is P.com.

Hang in there buddy, we'll have some M&M's in his memory soon :)

  9. I have nothing bad to say about JPR...or any other rescue for that matter. I think they are doing an amazing thing, and the volunteers are wonderful. It breaks my heart to see animals without a home. I am a very good friend of busymom, and I know how hard she works to find homes for unwanted animals.

However, please remember that these pet stores are running a BUSINESS. They are in it to make money. If they feel the dogs are detrimental to their business, then that is their right to not allow them in the store. They don't have to let people use their parking lot, but they CHOOSE to because it is the right thing to do. Please don't make this a pet store vs rescue issue.

The rescue is doing what is right for their dogs, and the pet store is doing what is right for their business. I can't tell you how many times I have heard my customers make remarks that we are "in it for the money". Of course we are! We are a business, not a charity, just like Petsmart/Petco.

Dogs will not freeze to death being outside for a few hours. It is their best chance of finding a home.

There is room in this world for both pet stores AND pet rescues. I have gotten dogs from both, and regardless of where they came from, they are loved equally.

    JMHO....

    Bravo! Excellent post :)

  10. It wouldnt matter if they were dressed in military uniform, anyways I wasnt trying to make a direct connection to this situation. Just highlighting the incompetence of our bureaucracy.

Yes, I do understand where you're coming from and let me clarify...It doesn't matter if you're in the military or not, the legal drinking age in the US is 21 y/o. I also see what you're saying about how being able to defend our country should correlate with one's right to indulge in alcohol. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me either, however, it is still the law.

  11. You can die for your country yet you cant enjoy a beer. That is all.

Are these kids dressed in military uniform? Probably not. My daughter drinks LEGALLY while she's stationed in Germany. It's the law...period. And those charged with upholding the law should enforce it. Not saying anything bad about our LEOs, just don't understand how this can go on for years without some retribution??? Amazing.

  12. Way to go on quitting! I'm also battling cigarrettes. My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer this week. I was so angry after we all met with the Dr. that I literally cussed out loud at the pack of cigarrettes sitting on my kitchen table. That was Wednesday, and I have gone from a pack and a half a day to 1 1/2 cigs a day. Hubby and I bought bicycles yesterday and actually did 2 miles yesterday!

I'm using sugarfree hard candy and it seems to be working pretty good. I guess just building up a fierce hatred towards the dayum things is my biggest motivation. They are taking my mother from me!

Good luck to you and keep up the good fight!
