  1. For any additional information regarding the fireworks fundraiser please contact Jason Freeman or Alan Daws at East Paulding High School. All fundraisers must be approved by school administration. They have all the information you are asking. I have been instructed not to list specific information on social media. If anyone has further questions these gentlemen are the best resource as they have reviewed this fundraiser and all of the parties involved.

  2. This thread started out about Howard's ugly mailer, packed full of mis-truth and inuendos, somehow it migrated to the School Board race.

     

    Here's what I know about the booster club, and this did not come from a school board member or a candidate running for a school board seat.     I called asked questions and got the information about the loan and the builder/developer. I still think the Booster Club got a raw deal, but I have no control over how anyone handled it. The way I see it, the bank manipulated the loan and moved the obligation to someone other than the originator of the loan.

     

    Mr. Cone attacked a lot of people in this thread. No one is trying to destroy any youth program, especially me. I have spent the last 30 years working in various youth programs and know how hard the kids and parents work.

     

    I have a couple of more questions and I'm done with this thread. Is the Football Booster Club a 501 c3? If so, did they use a different 501 c3 to conduct a fundraiser? Was a donation made from one 501 c3 to the booster club?

     

    I have no horse in this race except seeing my friends beat up by someone I don't even know and kids/parents struggling to have a great program.

     

    I will be talking to others to get the answers to these questions I posted here. I know my sources are reliable and are NOT connected to the booster club or the BOE or any candidate.

    I can answer this. Yes we work with another 501c3 whose sole purpose is to raise money and donate it to organizations. The EPFBC is a 501c3. We work with this non profit to do the fireworks and in turn for us supplying the staff for the fireworks stand they make a donation to EPFBC. If is very cut and dry. The booster club has no financial investment in the fireworks other than time and the opening bank( which is recouped very quickly). We have no obligation to the fireworks vendor for the product. The nonprofit we work with has worked with churches, and other organization to help them raise funds. Nothing is out of line or illegal. They have several references and have helped not only football but East Wrestling to raise money. Simply put we supply the labor to run the stores and they make a donation to us. The sale last year raise a large sum of money for the booster club and the checks were presented to the booster club. Not sure why this fundraiser is such an issue. Even the fireworks vendor sent an email to Mr. Freeman and Mr. Daws explaining how it works. Because this is so successful many of the other local high school booster clubs have inquired on how to get started with this fundraiser.

  3. Bottom line, I think Randy Cone is working harder to keep Steve from being elected than he is supporting Teresa. I don't know what his problem with Steve is, but it's my gut feeling eastraidermom and Randy Cone are closely related.

     

    Outsourcing is not the answer if the schools are dirty and unkempt. I know at least one other school board member voted against outsourcing, she said so at the debates.

     

    I'm also checking on that $50,000 contribution to the Boy Scouts, was that BSA National or was that here in Atlanta? See there are a lot of people familiar with what's going on with the booster club, the field house, the loan for the field house and it's not a good thing. Are booster club records subject to open records requests?

     

    It would behoove some people to just remain silent, when you start typing words, you let the cat out of the bag.

    what $50,000 donation to boyscouts are you talking about? East Football didn't donate any money to boyscouts.

  4. Just because she is/was ONE person on the board doesn't mean she should stay on the board. What was her vote in reference to the janitors? The schools aren't nearly as clean as they used to be. How many janitors lost their jobs because of outsourcing the work to a company?

    Why have you not answered my question about Kerstin home schooling her kids, and why you think it's a bad thing?

    Do you have a familial relationship with Theresa Lyons? Besides the fact that she is on the board now, why should we vote for her?

    What is your personal intent to get her reelected? Having spoken with Steve Dutton on several occasions and asking him questions that I think are important, I truly think he has the schools (ALL of the schools) best interest at heart. Sometimes when one asks the right questions, and the ones who don't want to answer them squirm, it becomes time to take your ball and go to a bigger playground.

     

    As for News Junky, I am very proud to her call her friend. She won't air someone else's personal laundry, you see she is a real lady.

    I can answer the question regarding the janitors. I personally spoke with Theresa. She said she voted for the outsourcing. She said her reasons were as follows:

    1. The company matches the employees 401k with a 10% match. The district can't

    2. The company allows for upward mobility for their employees since they have contracts with colleges, hospitals and many more.

    3. The company hired all of the current janitors unless they could not pass a drug test/background check, so they didn't lose their jobs

    4. In the end it saved the district money so they could avoid increasing the mileage.

  5. Being an incumbent on PC school board is not what I call a great talking point for a campaign. I sure hope an incumbent would know more about the budget than a new comer having been involve with it for eight years. JMO.

    Theresa never said she didn't know anything about the budget. Did you even watch the debate? WOW I can see that Steve has done a number on several of you. Follow a man who can't write a sentence without a typo ( look at his website), a man who when he gets mad takes his toys and goes home. A man who makes promises and NEVER keeps them. Ask the people involved with the East Paulding Football Booster club, They all saw it first hand.

  7. Spring Football is 5 weeks away! If you have a child interested in playing football for the Raiders please visit our website to register. We have a Jr Raider Program for grades 6th-8th ( that is based on the grade they will be in the fall) and we also have a youth program for k-5th. Remember to play for our Jr program your child must be district to East Paulding High School.

  8. I'm a little ticked by the criticism of him mowing his yard. What I find funny is I wonder now whether, of Georgia's 159 sheriff's, whether 155 or 154 have their personal yards done by inmate labor?

     

    There is one message seeping through this that rings of freedom. When you think about the truism; the government that governs least, governs best suggests to me, generally, part of the sense of security I feel in Paulding. Said differently, I'm not real eager to have a Barney Fife as sheriff ... Give me the common sense driven, laid-back Andy Taylor.

    With inmate labor, at least he'd be at work and he might at least know how many inmates were in his care if not how many deputies he had. LOL

    Ummm, no, not really. Honestly...and most of you know the facts about this. Try an make a complaint against one of the "good ole boys"....burning garbage, selling stolen cars or running a gambling house and see how fast the broom and the rug come out.

     

    My family has been in this county a looong time (read: confederate graves in my family plot) and most of you know there's a wink and a nod system here.

    There's a simple word for this- HARRASSMENT!

     

     

    If a news crew had footage of me cutting my grass in the middle of a weekday when I was being paid $103K a year I’d be fired.

     

    If I let my assistant drive my company car everyday when I didn’t report to work, I’d be fired.

     

    If I couldn’t even come to within 50% accuracy in an answer as to how many people worked for me, I’d be fired.

     

    I’m sorry but the “personal tragedy” they spoke of was how long ago? Again, if I missed that much work at that salary for that reason…………. I’d be fired.

     

    The issue of Bruce not doing his job came up a few years ago and it wasn’t until he was confronted by a news camera that he started showing up at the office? How long ago was the election? How long has this been going on?

     

    Subby, I don’t want to flame anyone, but you raised the issue of a few people that got tickets getting revenge, seeing your automatic and vehement defense of Bruce without even a thought to the validity of the issue makes me ask how many tickets you’ve gotten out of?

  11. They have not waited til the last minute. Where have you been? The BOE has been saying for the last two years they were in trouble and the schools were overcrowded. The problem is the public wasn't listening because it did not affect them. Until it affects the public they don't care. It was going to affect you so now you care. What a crock!

  12. All of you are crazy. I have read that some of you are not worried about your property values well you should be. Do you think your taxes will go down? We have needed industry in the county but it is not coming so why would you think that it will come now? I hope you all enjoy saturday school for your kids, I hope you all enjoy sports being cut in middle schools and rec sports suffering. I hope you all enjoy your children going to school almost year round in order to get in a 180 days. I hope you all enjoy watch the econimic state of our county go in the tank. I hope you all enjoy your "victory" because you have to be careful what you wish for. This did not hurt the BOC it hurt your kids. If you think the BOE was just threating well I guess you all can sit back and watch. Because Trudy doesn't make threats, it was a promise that this is what will happen. DRPHILOFDOGS said it a long time ago that if the schools did not get money double sessions were coming. Well THANK YOU FOR YOUR VICTORY now my kids will have double sessions.

     

    I forgot school of choice will go now as well.

  13. The BOE has had several town hall meetings and that is where people should have gone to see what was going on. They should not go to the PTA meetings; the people should come to them after all they already meet twice a month and have taken the time to set up additional meetings. If people really want to know what is going on all they have to do is show up to the meetings and they will be informed. The real question is “Do people really want to know what is going on” I will answer no because if they did the turn outs at the town hall meetings would have been in the hundreds. All people really want to do is place blame.

  14. I posted this in the school vent but I feel I should post this here as well:

     

    I agree that our property values will decrease and our children will have no where to go to school. What I am tired of is the constant complaining and whining but yet the same people to both boards keep getting re-elected. I really don't understand that. The people of this county hold all the power. The speaker of the house is a representative of this county and one of our state congressmen is a former school board member. What are they doing for Paulding Co? How many people have called them and asked for their help? How about holding the elected officials accountable for their actions or lack there of. There are solutions to our growing problem however it is at the state level. We need the laws changed! We need to be able to build for potential growth, we need to be able to get advances from the state to help pay for new schools. We need to be able to suspend applications for building permits. This all needs to be taken care of on the state level. Our laws need to change. We have ONE school board member that advocates on Paulding Co's behalf at the state level and she is leaving at the end of this year. If the people of this county want to see changes they need to make them happen. Stop complaining and take action. If enough people start talking to the right people you will see action. Trust me our elected officials don't want to lose their jobs, and if they think that they are vulnerable then you will see action. If we continue on the same old path of complaining and not demanding action then we as a county have no one to blame but ourselves. After all the majority rules and that is how our officials get elected. Since I have lived in this county I have seen the same people continue to be elected and I have not seen anything change other than the size of this county. The power is with the people not the officials.

  16. Sorry, but I do not see where the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are "Suspended" by any of these Executive Orders. I also do not see where any person can forceably be removed from his/her property.

     

    Executive order 11004, section 3, paragraph C: © Population movement. Participate in the preparation of plans for determining which areas are to be restored and in the development and coordination of plans for the movement of people on a temporary basis from areas to be abandoned to areas where housing is available or can be made available.

     

    FEMA is allowed under law to remove and relocate people. It's pretty clear if you read all the Executive orders. They outline the governments abilty to counter any and all constitutional rights in a state of emergency.

     

    AMENDMENT XIV

    Passed by Congress June 13, 1866. Ratified July 9, 1868.

     

    Note: Article I, section 2, of the Constitution was modified by section 2 of the 14th amendment.

     

    Section 1.

    All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

    I apologize, in advance, to the family of anyone from the government who tries to forceably remove me from my property regardless of the circumstances...

     

    Note the part that says "without due process of law".

    Executive orders ARE law. and suspend the required judical process in time of emergency.

     

    Basically, when the Executive Orders are in place. FEMA can do anything they deem to be in the best interest of the country and public safety. As defined in their guidlines, anyone resisting their regulations are acting AGAINST the best interest of the people and the country.

     

    Not liking it doesn't mean it isn't true.

  17. The people that they have shown on TV that have not left or are crying that they were not helped because they are black are on the system they have said it. Fox news stated that 90% of the people that have been rescued on on government assistance. I am not upset about that I am upset that they did not listen and get out. And now they want help. THe people that left and came back to the mess need help the people that tried to leave or went to the dome where the mayor sent them need help. People need to learn to help themselves. I understand that now they can't help themselves. I just want people to know that there were choices and they chose not to leave. I want people to know that now we as in the rest of the americans are paying for this. At some point these people who continue to live off of the system and disregard our government need to be stopped they need to be held accountable for their actions. They need to stop calling names, they need to stop blaming the WHITE MAN for everything. THey need to look in the mirror and blame the person staring back.
