  1. After all the fuss over who did what wrong getting food and help to the evacuees.  After all the US has done to raise money here and abroad.  After all that has been given:  medical, dental, food stamps, clothes, shoes, free long-distance phone service, unemployment benefits, student loans deferred, etc.,  What would you expect these people to spend the money on?  Would you be very happy to know that the money is being reported as being spent on things like nails and Lou Baton (sp??) purses?  I know that not all evacuees will spend in this manner.  But what does it make you feel for the ones that do?  Do you own a Lou Baton purse?

How does this make you feel?  If you were in their situation, what would you be spending the money(their cash cards) on?

Where did you hear about this? Is there a link to an article. I'd love to read it. I think it a shame that they would waste the aid in this way.

  2. Just a question for our liberal brothers...

Do you really think that Bush 'lied' about the weapons of mass destruction. Or is this mantra simply because you don't like him? Honestly, like any other President, he gets his info from the various intelligence agencies, which we already know have been having quite a difficult time explaining their inability to communicate with each other regarding 9/11. Oddly enough, Great Britain is still standing by their intelligence departments reports of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Do you believe they are lying as well and if so, why would they lie? They've stood by America regardless of who was in the oval office, so it seems unlikely they are saying this simply for G.W.'s benifit.

    Just thought I'd ask.

<grabbing some popcorn so I can enjoy this one>

13 "Well, couldn't they induce labor? The 25th is the Super Bowl."

12 "Dang if you ain't about five pounds away from a surprise visit from that Richard Simmons fella."

11 "Fred at the office passed a stone the size of a pea. Boy, that's gotta hurt."

10 "Whoa! For a minute there, I thought I woke up next to Willard Scott!"

9 "I'm jealous! Why can't men experience the joy of childbirth?"

8 "Are your ankles supposed to look like that?"

7 "Get your *own* ice cream, Buddha!"

6 "Geez, you're awfully puffy looking today."

    5 "Got milk?"

4 "Maybe we should name the baby after my secretary, Tawney."

3 "Man! That rose tattoo on your hip is the size of Madagascar!"

2 "Retaining water? Yeah, like the Hoover Dam retains water."

and TopFive's Number 1 Fatal Thing to Say to Your Pregnant Wife...

1 "Not to imply anything, but I don't think the kid weighs forty pounds."

  4. not to worry, faux news is reporting the same thing

By the way, it's quite amusing how you bring up a bunch of other hypotheticals instead of addressing the inadequacies of the current administration.

This is not hypothetical. Bush did accept responsibility for the Federal Govt's slow response once Fed assistance was finally asked for. What seems to be overlooked by our liberal friends it that the Liberal run local govt of New Orleans and the State govt of Lousiana have not only NOT accepted responsibility for their part but continue to blame Bush for all of it. Typical from the left and continues to back up that those mentioned are merely professional finger pointers and are not problem solvers. Let's hold our breath and see if the talking heads on CNN, MSNBC and other Al Jazeera subsidiaries will either notice or report that part. Now that would be a real story.
