  1. The magazine referred to goes out to everyone in Paulding with a Paulding ZIP (UNFAIR) there are so many taxpaying Paulding County folks who pay taxes in this county that don't get the benefit of something (not that there is that much in it at times) just because the county well I should say it is the postal office doesn't seem to think that if you live in one county it should not matter that you have another county's ZIP. This particular problem really messed us up with our Medical Ins. cause the plan we wanted did not cover our ZIP and we had to prove we lived in the county to be able to finally get the insurance. By the way I just happen to have a P.O. Box in Dallas so I get this magazine there even though most of the time it is mostly advertisements no to many articles.

  2. Conserving water has been and will always be an issue at our house. We are on a well and are always concerned with the amount of water we use and the drought has only made matters worse. We have been using the same well for 35+ years. I always have a fear that when I shower I will be right in the middle and the water will go out no way to rinse, ouch. We flush only when necessary, paper plates and toss away glasses and cups most of the time, wash clothes at the laundry mat, turn dishwasher on no more that once a week and make sure it is very full, catch water for watering what few plants made it through the summer and shower only twice a week unless there is something special we have to go to and take bird baths inbetween (thank goodness we are retired and don't have to go to work everyday). I am glad that a study came aut saying people bath and shower much to often. I become very angry and upset when I here people griping about the water restrictions and least they can be pretty sure they can turn the faucet on and water will come and if it doesn't it will shortly unlike with a well that can go dry and poof that's it and even if you bore or drill another as dry as it is your not likely to hit water and unlike a well at least their water can be used if the power goes out we can't because power has to be on to run the well pump. Please use your water with care.

  3. I have never been so sad as when I heard this. One of the sweetest funniest persons I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, how could I not be crazy about someone who several years ago named their kitten after my son? My how we laughed about that just a few days ago. I will miss her so very much. My condolences to her family.

  4. This was one that sounded like something from wildest car chases. The vehicle being chased turned down a dirt road or drive off of Mt. Olivet and went right through some gates. The deputy or officer chasing could not believe what had happened. The good guys did catch the bad guy though in the woods and took him off to jail. What are people thinking when they do something that stupid?

  5. I heard on the scanner about 3:45pm 10/22 that there had been a very bad accident on Hitchcock Rd. two on the ground and one trapped in the vehicle. No life flight available due to weather and there was at least one victim that was critical. I always worry at that time of day thinking about highschoolers headed out from school. I was just wondering if anyone else had heard anything and are these folks doing ok.

  6. 9 out of 10 of the accidents that happen at this particular spot are stupidity rather than vision hazards. Way to fast for the curve plus it is a school zone there even though there is not a speed limit sign there is a school zone sign. One of the best things that has happened at the school is the change of entering and exiting the school enter at the south exit at the north exit, at least you can see both ways there. I do agree though that if a couple of bushes and trees were removed one could at least see a bit better in case there were to be a school bus or anyother vehicle stopped in or just past the curve. If people would just stop seeing how fast they can take the curve though that would be the first step in improvement. There has been one fatality there in the curve, it happened a few years back, I just hope that there is not another there or at the end of Holly Springs or the Goldmine, 101-113 Intersection Yield sign.
