  6. My Great Grand Father Emanuel Sims Sr. born April 24, 1919 in Hiram, Georgia to Charlie and Berder Ray Sims. Born into one of the first African American families in Paulding County, the Sims, Rays and Alexander, ask your Great Grand parents. He was a World War 2 Veteran who served in the US Navy. After ward he then worked for Lockheed Martin and helped construct the c-5A Galaxy and C 130 Aircrafts. He was most famous for his Christmas decoration of colorful lights you pass by on 2 78 between the Dairy Queen and Carl Black dealership. He leaves behind many grand children and children.

The black Horses and carriage made of glass displayed the black and chrome casket under an American flag was inspired by a famous movie and we think it was something that he would

have wanted. If you missed it, i'm sorry it was beautiful even though we stopped 278 for about a hour.

i don't have pictured at the moment but I will display some soon.

He may have known my grandfather Carter Paris, he worked at Lockheed for years, but I never got to meet him he died 2 years before I was born. I am so sorry for you loss.

  7. ARLINGTON, Texas (July 11) - The school district here has expanded its dress codes to include mouths - and earlobes.

Students may no longer wear mouth jewelry known as "grillz" - shiny teeth caps - or the earlobe-stretching practice known as "gauging."

"The district is having to respond to fads because they've become distracters or a safety hazard for those around them," said Malcolm Turner, the district's executive director of student services.

The nearby Irving, Grand Prairie and DeSoto districts also ban grillz, and some also address gauging - the process of placing increasingly large items in the ears to stretch the lobes.

But students said the body modification is simply self-expression.

"Really, a grill is just like an earring. It's fashion," said junior Devonte Wright, 16.

But school officials said they hoped to teach students that life would require them to follow specific regulations in specific settings.

"We want to instill in them a sense of modesty and a sense of community," said school board trustee Gloria Pena. "We're preparing them for the work force, and in the work force there are rules."
