  1. Details Here.

What is your favorite Georgia State Park?

Tanner - cause it's close by and we can picnic anytime.

Unicoa - because we were there as children and had a great time.

Cloudland - cause it's not crowded and we were able to get a cabin on short notice.

New Echota - for the history and nature trails.

And all others - our state parks are great assets and everyone should visit them.

  2. With many churches, all you need is an organist (musician) and a preacher. Other than the preacher preparing the sermon, everyone involved just shows up a short time before the start, they perform the service, then lock up after everyone's gone.

A church like West Ridge needs many dozens of volunteers to run the service. Many of the 'regular' volunteers will be away visiting family. The others will have spent many, many hours assisting with the Christmas eve service.

Also, the Sunday between Christmas and New Years is traditionally one of the least attended of the year for many churches.

By giving everyone the 'day off', they acknowledge that time with family is just as important as running a church service, and that sometimes worshiping God in our homes just as valid as in a bigger, more formal venue.

    Edited to add:

Those "coming from the woodwork" will probably be attending the Christmas Eve services in the churches, not the Sunday Morning.

Also, how many of the churches having regular services Sunday morning will also have the regular Sunday-School program that morning? My guess is if they don't, it's probably because of the number of volunteers they need to run it who may not be available.

As good an excuse as any I suspose - we're going to a live church service Christmas Day - no matter the size of the group attending.

  5. Ya know I have been selling on Ebay for 5 years, back when it was good, it was great! Now it's crazy...

people can get their money back very easy through paypal

    Fees... Fees!!!

They used to have 1cent listing days and fees were way less.

Last year I was a powerseller, paid $200 a week in fees!

Heres what I paid last month,

    I sold 162 items

    They sold for $883.00

Okay, I paid $123.00 for that stuff

    down to $760.00

Take out ebay fees (I also do the cheapest way to list) $172.00

    down to $588.00

    Then paypal fees $70.00

    So I made profit $518

Then I pay for dsl $40

    So $478

That is for 3 hours every morning, 5 days a week (this doesn't include going to get my items) so I made less than $7.96 an hour

I am always checking e-mail, at least 1 refund a month, it's begging to not be worth it.

    Does anyone have an alternitive?

I am going to try www.bigspeedy.com

So if you need a referell when you register, put lag_sales!!

Try overstock.com - they have specials for folks that list over 100 items and fees are less.

  6. Good - have Mr. Brown promise to post more to the site with news, events and growth - the city needs, etc. And the county website has a link, but no information from the City of Hiram - what's up with that?
