  4. Your son is a lefty and he did a great job!

We thoroughly enjoy these guys! We always buy a CD. It's nice that they are playing traditional gospel bluegrass and not contemporary - it's a great change once in a while. Just the pure harmony and instruments - I love it!

It's always a pleasure to see Terry, too. He's doing a good job - surgery and all, it hasn't slowed down his preaching, just his movements!

  6. Join us for an inspiring evening with John Lanier . . .

John Lanier is an inspiring and anointed man of God known for his dynamic preaching

and singing. Since 1989, he has traveled throughout the US and abroad proclaiming the

Gospel of Jesus Christ through word and song.

The oldest of four siblings, John Lanier was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. At an early

age, he became a Christian and soon after, gospel music became his passion. He began

singing in his church, leading the worship with his parents who taught him the

    importance of spirit-filled ministry.

Following high school graduation in 1983, John worked as a radio personality in

Christian broadcasting for several years. John began his singing career in 1989 as a

vocalist with the legendary Naomi & The Segos. In 1993, he relocated to Alabama and

joined friends Tony Gore and Calvin Thornton to form the new trio, Tony Gore &

Majesty. God continued to broaden his territory when John pursued a solo ministry

beginning in 1996. Since that time, John has been blessed with opportunities to present

the Gospel through television, radio, revivals and crusades, anointed music and the

    world-wide web.

In Charleston, WV on New Year's Eve, 2004, Tony, John and Calvin reunited for a

special 'reunion appearance' of the original Tony Gore & Majesty. The response was

immediate and emphatic. The trio came to an agreement and a decision was made. While

each would continue their separate careers, a limited number of dates would be scheduled

for reunion appearances. Tony Gore & Majesty continues to bless audiences everywhere.

Audio and video combined, John has 24 recordings to his credit, including two of the

nationally televised 'Gaither Homecoming' video series. In 1999, John hosted the

'Millennium Tour of the Holy Land', where his performance of the hit song, "Jerusalem"

was filmed on location and broadcast in Europe. John is also a featured performer at the

annual SGM FanFair and on the Victory Voyage Christian cruise.

John has received multiple top ten and top five nominations for various awards as

presented by The Singing News Fan Awards, The SGM Fan Awards and The Diamond

Awards. In 2007, the SGM Fan Awards honored John as "Favorite Soloist" as voted by

    gospel music fans.

In 2006, with Randall Wilds of Wilds & Associates, John created the Christian Voice

Magazine and serves as the Executive Editor. The magazine is a monthly music and

lifestyle publication that provides Christian music news and articles relevant to the

    Christian faith.

Premiering on television February 7, 2008, "The John Lanier Show"is John's latest

venture. Recorded before a studio audience, The John Lanier Show is a weekly, half-hour

variety talk show featuring local and nationally known speakers, musicians, authors,

comedians and singers. The new show promises plenty of laughs, spiritual refreshing and

music to appeal to all ages.

As a singer, John exuberates the joy of serving Jesus and encourages believers to worship

freely, inviting the Holy Spirit to work in their lives. As an evangelist, John's passion is to

win the lost to Jesus Christ and to rekindle the fires of revival in the church. The central

message is the cross - Christ crucified and resurrected. John Lanier is committed to

preaching the truth of God's Word without fear or compromise.

Through God-ordained preaching and singing, John is able to effectively communicate

the message of the Gospel. For more than 18 years John has led thousands of people into

heartfelt worship through concerts, revivals, crusades and conventions across the US and

abroad. Through the outreach of John Lanier Ministries, many people have come to the

saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, bodies have been healed, marriages restored and many

Christians have been able to grow spiritually and make positive life changing decisions.

  11. I ate there recently. Service was good, not great, but the food was excellent. This was the best Mexican restaurant I've eaten at east of Texas.

That being said, it doesn't compare to South Texas, Arizona, or So Cal Mexican food, but I thought it was just fine.

The best is Bandidno's in Dallas - service is great, too! My grandkids love the place and they fed all of us with no mishaps. My Vote is for them!

  12. Kevin Burrell will be coming to Unity Baptist Church January 6th, 2008.

Photos, signed by Mr. Burrll will be taken 5:15 to 5:45 and cost $5.00.

Mr. Burrell played for the Boston Red Sox and was a scout for them until

he went to the Chicago White Sox recently to be a scout for that team.

He has a tremendous presentation with inspirational message for all ages.

Mark your calendars and come to our special service with our special guest speaker.

  13. On behalf of the Olde Towne Hiram Day Committee and the City of Hiram I would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to come out for some great family fun on Saturday Sept. 29th, 2007 from 10am until 5pm. Last years event was a huge success and this years looks to be even better. We have just over 100 vendors (30 more than last year) that will be attending. We have about 35 food vendors from your favorite local eating establishments, church groups and orginizations. And we have about 70-75 Arts and Craft vendors as well as information booths. All of Church Street will be dedicated to childrens games and rides (This is one area that has greatly improved since last year) There will be a car show on the other side of the tracks on Main Street as well as a tent that will be set up by The Paulding Historical Society with some great pieces of History from Paulding County, The City of Hiram and The City of Dallas. We will have a D.J playing music and making announcements all day long as well as about 10 different entertainment acts on stage. The acts range from some gospel music to solo singers to rock and roll, jazz and even some reggae! The Hiram Police Department will be selling raffle tickets for a 50/50 drawing, half the proceeds go to the person with the winning ticket and the other half will go to help support The Hiram P.D Youth Services Programs. (D.A.R.E / Explorers). There will be parking at the Lutheran Church on Seaboard St, Hiram Elementry School, Dice Trucking on Main Street and several homeowners will be allowing parking in the yards. But please only park in the yards that are indicated for parking. We will have three clearly marked shuttle vans transporting people all day long from our parking areas to and from the festival. We know this was a problem last year and we really have worked hard to correct it for this year. So come on out have some fun, bring the whole family and enjoy the day! We look forward to seeing you there!

I was looking for something to do this weekend - sounds like fun!

  14. Thanks for the quick response Pubby! I can always count on ya. I appreciate you answering me so quickly. I am planning on going, but have to wait and see if the old job lets me go home on time Friday. I am in Kngswood Club on the south side of the park. I am not opposed to the park, just want to know. Much rather have it there than the monster PRD that they were trying to build. Maybe this will be good for the propery values in the area?

    Thanks again,

    AC

They said there would be pavillions large enough for groups and an ampitheatre I believe. Nature trails and other things will be left natural. If they want to finish in 6 mos of less they couldn't be planning much more than that, I think.

  15. There is an employee at the SO that is fighting cancer. Fellow employees are out collecting donations.

If you are in the area of

    Ridge Road and Hwy 61

    or

    Bobo Rd and Macland Rd

Please, if you want to help --

drop a donation into the buckets.

You'll recognize the persons collecting donations by the t shirts they are wearing.

Thank you for thoughts, prayers and donations.

Every thing - regardless of size or deed - counts.

  16. We are having our homecoming services with lunch on Sunday, June 26th. This is our 2nd year in our new worship center and we are really looking forward to an exciting day!

We are trying to get in touch with members that have moved away or have lost touch - so any out there, please let us know where you are and how you are doing.

Try to attend - there will be lunch after the morning worship service following by special music and lots of good fellowship.

    http://www.ubcdallas.org

    Thank you.

  17. Preacher Voyles is in revival at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Carrollton, GA this week. Our choir will be joining him on Wednesday evening. So... if you're in the area of Hwy 27 in Carrollton, come join us.

Rev. Voyles pastored this church back in the 1970's and has returned frequently for the seniors meetings and revival meetings. It's always a blessing to visit with these folks.

  18. Great idea. We certainly need a rehab clinic close by.

Why would anyone complain? If there are 600 homes over there, I can promise there would be more crime going on than a rehab center would have.

I think it is the MLK moniker that is the problem.

Why not build a church on that property? That is where sinners go, you know: people that have committed all sorts of egregious sins gather in one place. What a scandal!

I say let's make the property a county park. We need a park on this end of the county - and that property would be perfect for a park.

    Park! Park! Park!

Oh yeah, scooters would be allowed to park there.
