  1. Yeah, I called them around Christmas (almost six months ago!) to check on a recliner for my little one and their "going out of business price" was more than the retail online @ Target & Walmart. Glad they got what's coming to them...I hate scams!

  2. REBEL HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!!!!!!! My Dad went to the pound again this morning to check and he was there :o) My little sister is thrilled as are my parents (and everyone else).

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP IN TRYING TO FIND HIM! We are sad that Dixie is gone but so thankful that Rebel is OK. They are having him microchipped (sp?) today and hopefully he'll never escape the fence again!

  3. They've contacted animal control - no luck.

We did find Dixie on the side of 120 near Hope Church - she was hit by a car. Sadly she is gone.

Please put the word out for Rebel. We are printing fliers to distribute around the new subdivision near Hope Church and also around to Evan's Mill. We are hoping Rebel just ran off, scared.

    Thanks!

  4. :o Oh, that is terrible! That is what I did not want to hear. I saw a photograph online of what a snakebite can do, and it was gruesome. That poor girl.

I hope we do not have those in our yard. One baby probably means a whole family...yikes!!

Yes, and the scariest part is that it was in her own yard! They assume it was a copperhead although it was never found. Was obviously venomous considering the way her foot swelled. Be careful out there for sure!!!

  5. Sunday afternoon I came upon a motorcycle accident on Dallas highway (at the subdivision entrance that's across from WalMart). The guy was lying on the road waiting for EMTs to arrive. I heard them say he was awake and alert but then I saw Life Flight land when I was coming back home. I wondered if anyone knew the condition of this man. I'm praying he was OK.

  6. Follow the diabetic diet or weight watchers...on both you get to eat but it's good stuff (lower carbs). Eating small meals/snacks every 3 hours is how I did it when I got dx w/diabetes. Once I quit the COCA COLA, the weight started coming off fast. Water, water, water + low carbs + exercise + diligence (it won't come off overnight unfortunately). IF you make a big change and stick with it, you'll see results. I ended up losing 30 lbs in 3 months because I was forced to do it (for my health).

  7. It seems totally fake to me...my husband was flipping channels the other night and we watched it for a few minutes - seems staged.

Is the woman you're referring to the one that wears a prom dress

  8. Our kids (ages 12 down to 2 y.o.) watch it but not incessantly - it grates on my nerves at times but I really don't see anything too terribly wrong with it. I do admit when our older two were younger, I was much more strict about what they saw/heard - I guess I dropped my guard with the younger two because they're exposed to so much more with two older siblings. Maybe that's not the best reasoning but that's just where we ended up. I can remember disliking Arthur (on PBS) because I thought they were mean throughout the show and would come full circle at the end with the "lesson" --- my point was, the kids didn't always watch until the end so all they got was the "mean parts" -

Funny enough...our 5 y.o. just said "Mommy can you turn on Sponge Bob"

  9. Wow....people obviously need to slow down out there!

Whatever happened to the wreck earlier?

There was a REALLY bad wreck on Dallas Hwy (120) on Saturday night at that Poplar Springs Rd (before you get to Lost Mtn...across from Lost Mtn Bapt Church)...Life Flight was there too and a LOT of other emergency vehicles - it was around 9:30 or so. Never heard anything about it though...

We've been keeping Life Flight too busy of late...everyone slow it down and be safe!

  10. Have Comcast bundle (for last several years) and love it. Have had a problem once in a blue moon and have had excellent customer service thus far :) Can't beat the price for cable, phone & internet...and cable doesn't go out when it rains or the wind blows ;o)

  11. Does anyone know the name of the flooring place that was located behind Jim & Nicks BBQ in Hiram? Seems like it was West Atlanta Flooring or something like that. I was trying to find them, they've moved (maybe they've closed??).

    Thanks! :)

  12. We had terrible service this week at a local "waffle place". The waitress was obvioulsy annoyed by the fact that I went ahead and put our 2 y.o.'s high chair at the table before it was cleared. She was very friendly to everyone around us and barely spoke to us. Let's just say she didn't get a tip. Ridiculous!

  13. They had lots of great deals on furniture and misc household items. Had a gorgeous roll top desk that I wish I had a place for and lots of other pretty stuff.

Just thought I'd pass it on. It's near downtown Dallas - Hart Circle (past Eberhart Funeral Home). The lady said she'd open tomorrow from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
