But, remember it is COBB County. They don't mind using tax dollars to correct traffic flow and improve communities.

It would be cheaper to build a barricade at the county line.

  2. I see the same thing, the lower economic classes are spending themselves into a hole trying to keep their heads above the water,

We are a country of middlemen now, hardly producing anything, we sell, we sell services, we sell goods made over seas.

We are not manufacturing enough of the goods being bought in our market, too much money is flowing out, and never coming back.

This is because of our stifling taxes and regulations on business in the US. If the Dems have their way, many more jobs will move overseas!

  3. After what has recently happened ,what with that poor girl hiker...i would just like to say that i think every woman should know some form of basic self-defence...something that will give them enough time to break free/get away to make that all important call...or more important ....help save there life..

Remember , all you have to know is 4 or 5 different moves...and learn to master them...anything you have on your person at any one given time can be used in your defence...let it be a key, scarf, pen, shoe, fist , finger, foot. knee, stick,...even your vocals.....just a shout can make the difference..in life or death...

I know it sounds like i am being morbid here ...but i just want you women out there to be-careful when out in the world...

It should be noted that the hiker knew martial arts

  4. Has anyone here had it? what was your experience, over all vision type (not really astigmatismy or 'omg was that a doorframe I was talking to for an hour?) cost, recoup time, and final outcome?

    thx.

Go to Emory eye clinic near Northside hospital. The evaluation is ~$100. they will tell you for sure if you can get lasik and if it will produce the results you want. I went and sad to say lasik is not an option for me. I liked the fact they turned me away instead of just taking my money and not getting the results I wanted. Not sure if some of the "lasik mills" would do the same.

  5. I may be in need of a plumber to replace my water line from the meter to the house. I have looked at the plumbers listed here in PCOM. Does anyone have any dealings with any of them or do you have any recomendations?

    Thanks

  6. Chris has always done a great job for me at Hiram, but boy didn't that place go downhill fast?

In the space of about one year they went from having brand-new bikes and equipment to selling only used bikes  and very little accessories/equipment/jerseys, opting (I guess) for repairs mostly.

I will stop by and see him the next time I am over that way.

Chris was a major reason The Bike Shop went downhill. I found Chris to be rude and the work he did on my bike sup par. I always had to fiddle with the adjustments after he worked on it. Several of my cycling buddies were also treated bad when Chris was there

  7. My hot water heater is in need of replacing. Can you guys (and gals) recomend a good honest plumber that I can contact? I have looked through the ones listed on this site but would like a recomendation from personal experience.

    Thanks in advance

  8. I ride the comet alot. I have never seen anyone blow by the intersection at Hiram. Blowing by means they go thrugh without slowing down. I personally have never blown by the intersection. I slow down to almost a stop or have stopped completely and almost without exception have been waved through by motorist. When that happens I always wave a thank you.

If a cyclist does blatently run the stop sign, they deserve getting hit IMO.

So now how bout we talk about motorist that run stop signs, pull out in front of people, try to clip cyclist with their mirrors, speed etc. It really is no different. I can't tell you how many times that a motorist has sped past me when I am cycling only to jack on the brakes and turn into a side road causing me to almost hit them. if they had only waited 15 seconds I would have been past their turn and they could have turned in behind me.

I guess my point is that there are a$$ hole cyclist and there are also a$$ hole drivers.

  9. I work for an ISP and can tell you that an ISP will not send an unsolicited email with an attachment. If you click on the attachment it will most likely deliver a virus/worm/trojan onto your computer.

I would call Earthlink and report it to them. They most likely know about the scam already but if they don't, I am sure they would like to know abut it.

  10. Thanks for the responses. I had not thought of one being attached to a keychain, Ill check to see if I can find one that way. In case you are wondering, I take suppliments while riding a bicycle and thought that would be a good way to carry them. Easy to access and would keep them dry.

  11. Does anyone know where a plastic coin purse can be found? I know this is probably a strange request but I am in need of one.

This is the kind that is shaped kind of like a football and is slit on one side and you open it by squeezing it. They used to be given away at banks as promotional gifts.

    Thanks in advance

    Tom

  12. yelp!!! I did,

played  all the time  and softball  and bowling. Those day's were a blast.

now let me know who you are. I have to know you.

OMG...That was just a couple of years ago right?? Don't want to give away our ages!! Your mom got me into tennis and I played for years until the knees, shoulder, and wrists just would not take it any more. I am now into cycling(bicycles). The only tennis I hit any more is with my teen age son.

I played in the PTA league one season so you may not remember me. I remember the group "casting stones" to see who would play doubles with who and back then the tennis courts down at the swimming pool were always busy. This was back in the time that Jimmy Conners and Bjorn Borg ruled mens tennis and Chris Everett and Martina ruled womens tennis. Uh oh I guess I have dated us now.

Anyway my name is Tom Atcheson. I have just moved back into the county after about 20 years of being gone. I have been lurking on the message board for a couple of months and I recognized your name and was curious if that was you.

    Tom

  13. Hey Tona,

This is off topic but I am curious....Did you used to play tennis back when there was a PTA (Paulding Tennis Association) with Russ Ragsdale, Don Rauscher, etc.... and your mother's name is Betty??
