  1. I saw one in the field across from by subdivision on Hwy 92 above Due West and you can here them howling at night And early one morning two were chasing a doe through my subdivison. The doe must have been hurt because she was not running very fast and looked like one of her legs was hurt.

  2. No water again....and of course no notice...but heaven forbid you are late on your bill and they will turn you off. It ticks me off that Cobb county can affect our water and the Cobb Snobs think that those who live in Paulding Co are beneath them. I work Monday thru Friday and Saturdays are my cleaning and laundry days. Had I had some notice I would have started cleaning and did my laundry last night....and of course filled my tub up to hand flush my toilets.... :angry2:

  3. I heard about this and I thought I would clear things up a little. It was me. I live at 94 Berkely Way. I was coming home and making the turn into the neighborhood and i had to swerve to avoid a deer. He lived but the sign didn't. I am getting two estimates on it next week.

    Your neighbor,

    Kevin

How bad was your car/truck damaged and it looks as if you just missed the utility pole...I did notice someone took the sign away... Deer are a really big problem here... almost hit one just pulling out my driveway on my way to work.. Just a few week ago someone hit one on 92 and we had to call someone to pick it up. I was laying in on my side of the road... csk

  4. I vaguely remember hearing something about this on the news last night. I was about asleep, but I think an elderly woman was involved. I think in was in Cobb Counyy. That's about all I remember.

The wreck was on Acworth Due West Rd between Cobb Pky and Jim Owens, I know because I use that road to come home from shopping in Acworth. They closed the road and I had to turn around and go home another way. Took me forever to get home.

  5. I came home from an overnight trip to Callaway Gardens and someone destroyed the entrance monument on the even side of the street. My hubby did not hear anything. It looks as if someone was heading north on Hwy 92 and was going too fast... The stone work, sign and wrought iron are destroyed. From the looks of the damage the car/truck may have substained heavy damage. Leighton Park is on Hwy 90 north of Due West Rd Thanks Csk219

  6. Live in Leighton Park Hwy 92 above Due West and we have 2 pine trees leaning over and my decorative flag was pulled right out at the screws... I don't know if we had a tornado but the wind shook my whole house. We took refuge in basement for about 20 min till it passed. We could could hear the Cobb sirens we are on the Cobb Paulding line. We do have small branches and leaves everywhere. My husband did check and everything is okay except for the pine trees. We lost electric twice each for a few minutes. We have Cobb EMC and I am sure the crews are out already repairing the damage. Same goes for those have Greystone. csk219

  7. As the Poultry Industry itself rarely closes [they gotta eat 'ya know], I am out of touch thes year when everyone else is off for Christmas and New Years.

The banks are closing early today, but are open all their other normal times.

What about where you work ?

I have off Thursday and Friday because the Holiday is on a Saturday and we do have off Christmas Eve... Love that long weekend csk219

  8. ITP is a very scary disorder. My daughter who is now 24 had it when she was 17 and her platelet count was 1,000 when she was admitted to the hospital. We thought she had luekemia because a lot of the symtoms are the same. We did the drug therapy with steroids and other drug combinations. The steroids gave her side effects and one she still has is hearing loss. When she was 18 she made a decision to have her spleen taken out and she has had no relapses but is careful with her health. She has to have a flu shot she is in the high risk group and has to keep her shots and vaccines up to date. She goes to the doctor at the first sign of any illness. They did find out that hers was caused by a viral infection that had caused her antibodies to attack her platelets. She does still tire easily but so far has been leading a normal life and will graduate college in May. She goes once a year to a specialist for a checkup. Hope your neice will get better soon will keep her in my prayers.. Csk219

  9. I live in the next subdivision north of that dangerous intersection. My greatest fear is that a full bus load of kids coming out of that subdivision and trying to turn left and a speeding semi heading south going about 70 on the blind curve. Well you figure out the rest. That's what it will take to get a light. Pretty scary! I have lived here 5 years and 6 fatals on this part of Hwy 92. The county and the state need to lower the speed limit and prohibit truck traffic not only is it dangerous but the trucks are destroying the road surface. Semis belong on the interstates and only on other roads for local deliveries. Other states have laws that limit truck traffic in residental and rural areas. Wake up before we make national news for a deadly school bus accident.

  10. Don't feel so bad for 6 months I have been getting a minimum bill and every month I have called them and told them I have had the same read every month. In May I was told they replaced my meter because it had stopped. Well this month the meter read was exactly the same as it had been all the other months. If they replaced my meter they didnt do it at my house. This month I sent them a letter stating that repeated phone calls have not gotten my water meter replaced. I want to pay what we owe. I work for an electric utilty company and know that if you report a broken meter its fixed as soon as possible. I have done what is required of me as a consumer I have reported it. It's just so frustrating. Well one good thing we now how a return envelope for the bill and not that little tiny card that seems to get lost in the mail. Aaaahh progress for the Paulding Co water Company. :(

  11. Well chemmie you are right, Johnnies is the best in paulding, and by the way you must be from the Philadelphia area because you used the term Hoagie... Only a native of the tri state area would use that term.... I grew up in South Jersey and lived outside of Philadelphia (Montgomery County )for 32 years before we moved to Ga... but you cant beat Paulding for the weather and the nice people here. Im glad we made the choice to move to this county.. :

  12. Atlanta Gas Light has the address listed as Poole Rd... and they won't change the name unless you get something from the county that the road name has changed and fax or mail it to them... I should know I work for a gas marketer and it is frustrating when we have the correct address and Atlanta Gas Light does not and they won't change it unless they have verification... Hope that clears that up..

  13. I know speeding is very big problem here in Paulding Co... And I have also be given obscene gestures all because I drive the speed limit. I also know that when we are trying to enter our subdivisions we are always afraid of being rear-ended by a speeder... I live off Hwy 92 above Due West Rd. There have been a few fatal accidents on Hwy 92 from north of E. Paulding until the Crossroads intersection. How many more have to die before the county/state lowers the speed limit. We are a county on the move and we are expanding very rapidly, more cars on the road mean more fatal accidents due to speed. My family has lived here in Paulding since 1999 and we have seen the rapid growth. The county has put a double blinking yellow caution light, with a 45 mph limit, but no one pays any mind to that except the residents who live in the area because we know how dangerous the road is. I have been told by long time resident of Paulding that speed enforcement is a joke. We need enforce the speed limit laws and crack down on speeders and have the reputation that Cobb Co. has for enforcing the laws.
  14. I live in a Subdivison above Due West Rd and I am tired of the speeding tractor trailers and cars that zoom up and down Hwy 92. The county has put in blinking yellow caution lights and posted speeds of 45 in that area. Yet they still speed heading north or south. I have been cursed at, given obscene gestures just because I want to turn into my subdivision. I give the car/truck plenty of warning I am going to turn left yet I have almost been rear ended several times. I wish Paulding County would change the speed limit to 45 and then maybe the traffic will slow down. This is a common lament among my neighbors. Hey maybe Paulding Co Sheriffs Dept could put in a speed trap I'm sure it would be profitable.
