  1. This is so sad....Is this country having an open season for killing policemen....The officers were one young black officer and the other was white.

They were shot by 3 black suspects...Why is this nation not outraged...and that so called Rev has not said a word...his silence is deafening....We cannot condone this in our country.... As of late we have had to many officers just gunned down...We are all Americans no matter what our skin color...and as the greatest nation with the most freedoms we all need to abide by the laws and that includes law enforcement and citizens alike...

  2. I have used Bare Minerals for about 12 years and love it. I am allergic to talc and some of the other chemicals in eye makeup and my dermatologist advised me to use these products. You can order them on QVC or go to Ulta in Town Center. I am also olive complected so some make up choices are too pink for me. I also like the coverage and that it looks and feels so natural on. I have tried others but still like think the Bare Minerals is the best.

  3. I only watched for a few minutes and found they are all shallow, selfish and very self centered women. They only care about is what they have and how others around them can cater to every whim. It just proves one thing, money does not buy happiness and these women have no clue of what is means to be happy and at peace with yourself.

  4. Hubby just called and said there was bad accident on Old Dallas Rd/Dallas Rd Paulding/Cobb border. Near the soccer fields He did say he saw a helicopter but not sure if was a Life Flight... Our daughter lives on Dallas Rd.

  5. Hey...Kroger on Dallas Acworth Hwy has all grades but no Diesel... was there at 8:40 am only waited 5 minutes... was 4.06 with Card for regular unleaded...I felt like I had just won the gas lottery.....All the lines take me back to the 70's when we waited in line for odd even days to get gas during the oil embargo :D

  6. Just to let everyone know I have received 2 phone calls on my cell from and unknown source stating on first call I owed T Mobile money and how would I like to pay that...told the person I don't have T mobile and hung up. Then the idiot called back again and first said Cingular, then corrected himself to say Verizon... and how would I like to pay that...I told him it was a scam and that I would not play his game and not to call back. Just be aware out there that there are morons out there that think it is easier to rip someone off then to be get a job. In this day and age we have to be very aware of all the scammers and ripoff artists because if we don't play the game they quit....

  7. Paulding Meadows was really great this year ! Paved walkways and lots of vendors, it was good to see so many people there and all the new vendors and also the old favorite ones (My favorite is Ivy Mist Candles) and of course all the food booths. It was good to meet Pubby and told him I really enjoyed the site because it keeps me informed of what is going on in the county since the major news outlets leave us out. This is one of my churches biggest fundraisers (St Vincent DePaul Catholic Church) as usual the tacos salads were very good. Loved all the additional fun things for the kids and the pony rides were great.

  8. I just love OPI 's ''Smokin in Havana" ,''Affair in Red Square'' and "Im not Really a Waitress" a killer red, perfect for the holidays... My nails and toes always match. I have had acrylic nails for over 20 years and have never had a problem. I get mine done every 2 weeks.. I am not a big fan of French or American manicures. I like color on my nails...and I am almost 60 years old and no pinks or mauves for me...give me the reds and corals.

  9. There is one in Shorter Al...just take 85 south and you cannot miss it. It is about 11 east of Montgomery Al...easy ride... lots of slots, dog track, bingo but no table games...

  10. I just checked my history with Norton and they did block a high risk attack at 7:14 am July 8. I am so glad that I decided to go with with Norton when I got my new computer. I use ATT DSL and they do offer a virus protection, but is very slow to run a scan. I have Norton set to run scans daily and full scan weekly. I did learn about 8 years ago how destructive a computer can be... I was just a newbie then, I had to take my computer to be fixed and all the viruses removed... I have used Mcafee it was okay but I like Norton, easy to install over the internet and I like that it updates all the time...I also use a spyware program called Adaware (Free)and my Norton also does a spyware scan. Hope no else out there is infected with whatever that destructive program is...

  11. I have original art work done my daughter. She has a degree in fine arts and is a wonderful artist. My house has alot of her pieces and best of all they were gifts. I did pay to have them framed. She does not have a lot of money since she has her own home so gifts are art work and I love everyone of them.

  12. Electricity is charged by kilowatt hours anywhere from 7 cents to 15 cents or so depending on the time of year and gas is charged per Therm. Average is around at 1.14 for a variable rate. You may have used the same amount of gas as last year for the same time period but paid more per therm so your bill is higher. Even an empty house set on 55 the heat will come on when it is very cold outside. We have had some pretty cold nights and a few days this winter. The only way is turn off everything and winterize all your pipes so they won't freeze. And if your electric meter is reading 2000 more than what you are reading request a meter reread.

  13. I work for a utility company and what people don't realize it when it is cold outside your heat comes on and your blower on the heater uses electric. All utilities use a degree day chart and that tells them how much heat/and or cooling your house requires to keep your home at a certain temperature. Example If is 20 degrees outside and your heat is set at 65 degrees the heat will come on more often, say 4 or 5 times an hour. If the outside temp is 40 degrees, the heat may come on 2 to 3 times an hour. This is to compensate for keeping your house at the temperature you set it combined with outside temperature. So the higher the degrees day number the more energy you use. Same works for the air conditioning in the summer. Most units will cool your house to 20 degrees below the outside temp. So when we have a heat wave your air conditioner may run nonstop to keep your house cool and your heater will run more often to keep your house warm when it is cold. And don't forget the cost of energy just like the cost of gasoline is going up based on demand.

I do have a little experiment to try (this is for natural gas use) Go to aglc.com and find the link to read your meter. Make copies and try to mark the reads,do this every 3 days or so also keep track of day/night temperature. You will then be able to see how the temperature affects your consumption. Try to keep track for several weeks and mark down what the thermostat is set at. You will be very surprised at the results.

I hope this helps some of you.

I was also asked if I we got a notice.....What notice, do they actually give notices when they will turning off the water .. I have been here 8 years and have not received one yet . Maybe they should get an automated phone notification system.
