This is my neighbor's house. We are actually the neighborhood that adjoins Emerald Point....Bridge Station. They live across the street from me...They have already had some clothing donations and are still waiting on the Red Cross to arrive. Bless their hearts and please pray for them.
I live in there too. I had no idea anything even happened until we were leaving to go eat and watch Subby's band play that night. The house is completely gone.
I was hoping the dog got out, but according to this thread, it did not.

We had the clackers and I got them stuck in the limb of a tree, where they stayed for years! Heck, they may still be there.

I remember when New Kids were opening for Tiffany at Six Flags. My cousin and I had free tickets but stayed in the park and road all the rides instead, the lines were short since most were at the concert.

All I am saying is have a little compassion, while using your brain a little. Some people have no clue, some have no compassion,
some have neither. If I hit a dog (I can tell the difference in a dog versus a fox or coyote) on a road and I can help the dog I will
do my part. It is human nature, to me, to help...especially if I am the one that hit it.

Do I care about getting hit by a car myself? Yes
Am I going to risk my safety for a hit animal? (which, by the way, shouldn't have been left to roam) No

Okay, if you have ever owned an animal in your life I would hope to God you would not answer this way. Dogs are capable of getting loose. So a little girl's dog gets loose from it's collar and runs off. You come trucking along and run over the dog and it is still alive. You, who could care less, drive off and leave the dog to be pounded by other cars and die one of two ways. A slow painful death or watching the next vehicle come and run him over because it can not move.

What exactly do you suppose the lady who hit it would have done any differently than the original poster did? Her stopping wouldn't have magically made anything better for the dog (unless she somehow killed it to finish it off... doubtful). If she would have called animal control, it would have taken the same amount of time as it took for the original poster to call.
A good start would have been to slow down, break or try to avoid hitting the dog. After hitting the dog, stop your car and see what you can do. Call for help.
To me, I see this as a hit and run. Cruelty to animals should be charged if they left the helpless dog in the road!

You do not like people using the site that is supposed to be for the HS and shelter for giving/selling pets. I thought you did not want ANY posts other than HS or shelter related.
So if I were to post a "hey look how damn cute my dog is" post in the 4 legged location, okay or not?

If anybody would like to trap some coyotes and bring them over to my neighborhood, they would be very welcome. I'm tired of everyone's cats running loose all the time. I don't even keep the bird feeders out anymore because the poor birds don't stand a chance with all the roaming cats! I would LOVE to see a few cats disappear over my way!

I think it would be better for Cook if he finished 2nd, he would not be locked into a crappy deal. He would be able to sign a better contract than he would get from AI.
I did not see it as a blow out that Simon called it. I liked Cook last night. I think Arch may have a better voice, but Cook is a much better performer.
