I have met Will and I don't see everyone's fascination with him. He didn't impress me at all. I would like to see the bills authored by Dems that passed last year. Give me a number. It isn't much and nothing of any substance. Ralston is more bipartisan than Glenn but not by much.

Yes, Paulette will be welcomed because all the House Republicans will be happy it isn't Daniel Stout who they all kept at arms reach because of his relationship with Bobby Franklin and voting no against just about everything.

I will state again and I don't care about his "visions" for Paulding County. Paulding will not get any representation if Will is elected. He will be a backbench in his own caucus and not a player in the least.

    TwoKidCircus

Why don't you start by asking what Paulette's voting record has been during her time on the school board??? I think it has been posted on here?

omg.gif It is time for the two to meet and discus the issues!!!!

  2. This race is all about right & wrong, good and evil. Who wants to get revenge for getting fired, and who wants to work for his post. Simple even a democrat can understand,so can liberals and tea party. This election boils down to who has the county in there best wishes.

Reagan Republican your way of track, take a good look at the canidates.clapping.gif

    :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

  3. You do realize it's less than a 2 minute video. rolleyes.gif

Yes I realize that it was short, I also realize that if she is elected commissioner she is expected to be able to communicate her positions on the various issues that come before the commission in real time before the cameras, and sometimes during a open debate in a public hearing, i am not so sure that she realizes that all issues cannot be resolved by hanging a brown bag on someobes mail box though?

  4. Ya, this person is a total phony and should be called "ULTRA LIBERAL". Their language about jobs gives them away.

"With NO MENTION whatsoever of how that candidate proposes to bring jobs to the unemployed or under employed citizens of this county".

No conservative would talk like that because we know that the government doesn't "bring jobs" to the unemployed. A total plant trying to lend "Conservative" credentials to Todd Pownall to make up for all the liberal democrats supporting his campaign.

Then why are all the conservatives saying that the government is not doing their job, beacause we have no job growth? I voted for Karen Handel beacause she has promised job growth. She is a conservative, paulette is a tea party conservative and she has promised jobs, Is she lying about this just to get elected?

  5.

    Dear Post 2 Constituents,

Many of you know that Post 2 in the New Georgia and Nebo Communities are the home places of my Austin and Pace Families. I would like to see that Post 2 Commission District be represented by a strong, hardworking, honest individual with family values that people respect. I would also like to serve on the Commission with someone that I respect as a businessperson with new ideas that will be looking to the future and not backwards from the past chairman.

In my opinion Todd Pownall will bring new ideas and not drudge up the past or hold back the Commission. Todd has not spent the last 12 to 18 years drawing a Government paycheck and his pledge is to serve without receiving a paycheck for the next two years as your Post 2 Commissioner. For job creation, conservative values, road improvements and public safety join me in supporting Todd Pownall as a strong conservative leader for Post 2.

Vote Todd Pownall – “A Man with a Hero’s Heart”

    Sincerely,

    David A. Austin

I have looked at this you tube several times, And read the ad several times and have yet to find what she is so appaled about?

Seems to me that if Beverly could take the time to do a you tube and have it posted then certaintly she should be willing to set down with Pubby Austin, Todd and explain why she is so appalled by the ad. We have many more important issues facing our county that need to be talked and campaigned about than an endorsemant in a local news paper. Lets talk about jobs, the reservoir, Transportation etc. Sit down and talk it out for all to see and hear

  6. Oh he's not talking about Beverly? Than who is he talking about when he says: "Todd has not spent the last 12 to 18 years drawing a Government paycheck" ?

here is what was said "Todd has not spent the last 12 to 18 years drawing a Government paycheck and his pledge is to serve without receiving a paycheck for the next two years as your Post 2 Commissioner"

he is merely implying that due to the finicial condition that the county is in that Todd is willing to work for no salary for the first two years where maybe no more employees will have to be laid off. What is wrong with that?

  7. Sorry Whitey, I don't have time today to argue with a Democrat about which Republican would best serve the county in Post 2.

    RR

What a crock (piff) Just say it you don't have a answer 8)

Sounds like the cat/ WHITEY has got your tong? ops/ fingers?????

    LMSO :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

jmho buuuuuuuuuuut........... Are you to busy arguing between your own party? <snip>

  8. Regan Republican AKA as the author of Jumping the Shark Article, And, a cohort Of the writer on the other web site who has been issuing press releases, Articles, Etc, (Praise Thee) In support of the Candidates of their choice who is being abetted on this web site by the likes of MEvans, Wonder WHY and others Who do you think that you are fooling with this garbage that you are spewing out Against David Austin And Todd Pownall?

Everyone on this web site already knew that Beverly Cochran and other members of her immediate family have been on the County payroll for many, many, years and some are still on the County Payroll today. And, some are trying to obtain employment on the County payroll today as I type this message.

Why would you write an article in a defunct web site Provide links to this article on this site and try to influence the voters? I am quite sure your cohort on the other web site (PRAISE THEE) is quite busy writing his own, little article and some of Beverly’s surrogates sometime today will link to that site with his commentary.

This County, It’s Citizens, And many unemployed workers are really going through some very tough times today, And some of the problems facing our County today were brought on by the previous administration, and, those associated with the previous administration and its policy of BUILD, BUILD, BUILD, TAX, TAX, TAX We all know what the previous administration and its associates have done to our county. Why do you and some of the other leaders in the Paulding County Republican Party want to cause this strife within the party during this period of time that we need our leaders to make some tough decisions, To get our county our of the doldrums caused by the previous administration?

The Paulding County Republican Party should be about working together to bring jobs to our county, the needed water resources, improved transportation, Improved Public safety etc. Not the infighting of the old guard and the new guard (shaking head in disbelief) It’s JOBS, JOBS ,JOBS folks not all this infighting

    WHITEY:

You are right on with this post. :clapping: :clapping:

    ENOUGH SAID !!

  9. So, give us details. What are the plans to provide the needed jobs?

I along with most citizens in the county commute to Cobb/Fulton/Atlanta to work.

The tax digest is shot, and won't improve unless sales taxes or property taxes provide an influx of revenue for the County.

What exactly under these circumstances can ANY candidate really do to provide jobs?

Unless of course those Real Estate related jobs are the only ones that the commission cares about - like in the good ol days.

The building industry will not make a come back for at least 4 more years, And as long as we have citizens raising hell about a .08 cents per day tax assessment the county will never recover from this recession either

  10. I am thinking about voting for and supporting Avery, I like his ideas on how to provide for additional funds that will return thousands of teachers to the classrooms, Without the need of raising taxes on Small Business or property owners, Avery has also stated that he would work very hard towards helping the County Commissioners in their endeavors to bring good paying jobs to Paulding County. I find Avery well aware of the problems facing the 19th District, And Paulding County.

  11. I guess you missed his flier on the issues and his platform. I guess you are not in the 19th District. That was only one of the things mentioned on the first flier. Did you see them at all?

What did he say he was going to do for Paulding County? Did he promise not to raise our taxes again? Oh I know he promised to create some jobs, And probably promised not to hire any Illegals in his home building profession!!!! And to build us some more roads ETC, I give up tell me what he did promise, Can you post the flyer like dot did with Jason's?

  12. I'm not sure he would favor one area over another, but I do know the East corridor gets a lot more voice than us low life Westsiders. I realize there are more people over there but when it takes 2 years to complete a repaving project (before the financial crisis), something is wrong. Does anyone else remember the horrible condition Hwy 101 was in for so long. Heck the bump you have to go over when crossing Pleasant Grove Road from Masonic Drive or Woodrow Kay Road is horrible. I assure you no one in the Cedarcrest are would tolerate that for very long.

Look at the Union and Yorkville ball fields, they are pitiful compared to those on the East side.

For too long we have had a commissioner that cared more about his neighbors and his neighborhood than anyone else, I think I really need to think long and hard about this.

Us low lifes in Hulsey Town do not even get a campaign sign. Of course it does not matter to me after reading his connections to the GAELO and the domestic partenership deal I could never vote for a person who supports amenesty for the illegal immigriants

  13. I will be voting for a conservative Republican who told the truth and stood behind it by putting his name to it. Does not matter whether I would have chosen to do the same or not. The choice was not mine to make. If another conservative candidate wins I will stand with him/her in the General. I will not vote for someone in the same party with Obama.

Your candidate has refused to run on the issues,Instead he is using the old guard tactic of diversion, There was no need to bring up the indiscretions of Daniel Stout other than to take the voters minds off the numerous times that he voted to increase our taxes while he was serving on the school board.

he should come on P.com and explain himself like Daniel and Paulette has

  14. Here are the two different flyers that were mailed out to post 4 constituents.

The first mailer clearly shows prejudice towards the Cedarcrest area which has Captions such as “VOTE TO GIVE OUR AREA A VOICE ON JULY 20TH!"

Another caption states "VOTE FOR OUR NEIGHBOR.REPUBLICAN JASON ANAVITARTE-OUR FUTURE DEPENDS ON IT"

The balance of the Cedarcrest flyer is pretty much self explanatory?

The flyer going to the rest of post 4 clearly gives the impression that the balance of post 4 has received all the representation through the years that was deserved with no mention about the other areas in post 4 being ignored by the County government.

Post 4 now is the time for new leadership that will represent all of the citizens in post 4 Please vote for David Barnett post 4 Commissioner

    001-1.jpg

    001.jpg

I believe this is the biggest screw up that a candidate has ever made,How can he single out a neighborhood that he lives in for special consideration, I knew he was doing it in a whisper campaign, But really to put it in writing and mail out two different flyers, He should of been smarter than that  =@

I live in North Paulding and I got the second flyer that doesn't mention Cedarcrest.

I believe only Seven Hills and Bentwater got the Cedarcrest flyer?

  15. MEvans you stated

I find this press release quite amusing, to say the least, Jason was an elected official of the GEORGIA ASSOCIATION OF ELECTED LATINO OFFICIALS (GAELO} not just a member, and is still listed as one of the FRIENDS of this organization on the web site.

Now some two months after his election to this organization was exposed here on P.Com He states that he has now left the organization..... Really..... When did this occur?

Amazing that Jason will now endorse laws that GALEO is opposed to? WOW your candidate is very flexible.

This press release reminds me of the 1940’s, 1950’s era of Georgia politics, When Herman and Lester were running for Governor and both denounced membership in the KKK, yet both actively campaigned for their support.

A word to Jason, You can run from your record, but you cannot hide from it, GOOGLE is my friend, and you have been caught red handed

Hey Jason did it ever occur to you,To check out the organization you were joining? Are you saying that when you ran for elected office it was a civic organization, And not a 501 C ?

Sorry jason the people on P.Com are smarter than this.

  16. Again, you can't say that 2.3million is great and 2.8 is meaningless.

    2010 Budget 53.7 million @6.65 mill-rate

    2011 Budget 51.4 million @6.65 mill-rate (proposed and published on 6/1/10 at paulding.gov)

    2011 Budget 50.9 million @6.50 mill-rate (press release from Jason A. on 6/21/10

Really on the truth, I have to admit I was a little off, But not by much.

The millage rate (also known as the tax rate) is a figure applied to the value of your property to calculate your property tax liability. One “mill” equals one dollar of tax on every thousand dollars of taxable value.

So a .15 mill decrease as you and Mr. Anavitarte are raving about would amount to a tax cut of 15 cents per thousand dollars of taxable value’

A home valued at $100,000 would receive a tax reduction of $5.70 per year or less than .016 cents (less than two cents) per day. Based on normal Home stead exemption.

WOW AND JASON MADE A PRESS RELEASE ABOUT THIS, Just shows how out of touch Jason really is.

JUST SO you know I will accept the tax cuts that David Austin And Tommy Graham made to this years budget, AND YOU CAN KEEP THE CHANGE Sure hope Barnett and Pownall get elected so this trend will continue

    RR

Thanks for replying to my question. Can you explain? I guess I am having a senior moment and not understanding what you are trying to tell me about the math as showed in the above?

  17. I'm not correcting Whitey's math for him. He'll have to do it himself. You're welcome to loan him a few fingers and toes. At the end of the day, you can not say that David's proposed 2.3 million cut to the budget is great and that Jason's proposed 2.8 million cut is peanuts. Doesn't hold water. There's no reason the mill-rate can't come back down to 6.5 in this year's budget.

    RR

I don’t think WHITEY ask you to correct his math nothing to correct there!! I was the one asking butt sound like that you want your sandbox to yourself to post what you tend to spin from time to time and do not play well with others!!!! I will wait for a civil response from you please.

    BTW>>>>>> NO SPIN

  18. Hahahahaha .. dude, you're a pathetic propagandist.... keep your day job ....

Can you show me the math on the 1/5 of one cent tax please.

RR Whitey has showed you the math,Are you ever going to respond? It appears that whitey has exposed Jason on the little trick that he attempted to pull, Got any comments? As whitey stated Jason is really out of touch.

  19. I am really torn between voting for this renewal or opposing this tax. I realize that if this tax is voted down then all capital improvements will come to a halt when this current tax expires, And most certainly some revenue will have to be raised in order to provide some of the most needed services that the county cannot do without such as fire equipment patrol cars, road repairs etc.

While pondering this decision, I could not think of but one other source of revenue that could replace this existing tax and that is a tax on Property owners which is a tax on Homes, Automobiles, Boats, And Motor homes etc. Which all property owners are required to pay today, and is what the county uses today for the normal Maintenance and operation.

So the question remains who is going to pay the taxes, Just the property owners of the county, Or everyone that spends money in the County We surely will not deny the funds needed to provide adequate equipment for our police and fire protection, Nor will we deny funds that provides equipment to maintain our road ways.

These are things that are going to have to be funded, will the property owners share the entire burden, or will it be evenly distributed among everyone? I am still undecided?

    NewsJunky

It was not Chris if my information is correct. He does have to take what comes with printing it on his site though. I will state once again that there were no copies distributed at the Debate on Tuesday.

Chris says his site is a news and commentary site. I think he should stick with releases put out by candidates or actual election news for the state and county. This kind of thing is ill advised and hurtful. I know and support some of those mentioned and I think they were hit below the belt. I do not like this kind of campaigning

He cited some things that are not the truth, In fact he plainly states On June 16, 2010 that he wrote the Article
