I added a gallery on my website with the images I took. Please feel free to download whatever you would like. You captured some great shots! Are any of them going to be published? Let me know, especially if you got any of my 3 girls It was nice meeting you today!

Yeah SM you are right, it was very quiet. I am so glad you posted your pics, they are wonderful. Maybe at some point the family may like to have them. I saw somewhere on here yesterday that they would like some.
GoBama (who I met today ) mentioned wanting some pics, as well as putting some together for Ryans Aunt. I told her I would be honored too. I will probably just burn them all to a CD to give them so they can view them/print them later as they wish.
The same goes for anyone else. If you are in the Patriot Guard and see pictures of you or your friends that you would like to have, just let me know and I am happy to share them.

The one thing that you can not tell by these pictures is how quiet it was....before the procession arrvied everyone was wandering around chatting....when the procession came into view, complete silence. The kids were standing still watching, holding their flags, and no one was talking. The respect shown was amazing.
I know their were alot of other vets there today, and people who have family in the military now....it means so much to me how military sticks together....and how the community comes together to support our servicemen and women. God Bless Ryan.
oops, didn't mean to leave out the pictures of our police force, their presence there was awesome...

Someone in Ryans family(his Aunt I believe) was asking the other day if the ones of that got pics could get them to her, I just thought-- well anyway I hope you have your camera with you tomorrow.
I will make sure to bring my camera tomorrow, a friend is meeting me so hopefully will have an eye on my kiddos when I have my eye pressed to the camera. Nothing would bring me more honor then to be able to provide some pictures to the family. I wish I could make the trip to Canton and take pics of the ceremony. I will post a link to the pics I take tomorrow evening.

Not sure where we will be yet but I will be out there with my kiddos.

I emailed all this info to everyone local in my email address book. Hopefully the word will spread so those who are not on Pcom, will also be able to get out and show support for Ryan's family.

I was caught out in it coming home from my moms this evening. I pulled under a bank drive thru, along with about 10 other people, lol We watched the hail come down and the storm pass over, down by Barrett/120. As I came home up 120, the hail on the ground was incredible! No, I didn't have my camera It was so thick on the ground, and the ground/air was so warm, that the hail was putting off steam/fog vapor. Visibility was probably 1/4 mile or so....WILD stuff! Lost Mountain area was covered in hail!

SM:
It would depend on the nature of the rights sold when the magazine bought the picture for its cover. That would largely depend on what they paid for the rights and the normal or customary rights that go with it. Usually the photographer retains the rights and their publication was for first and single use. Unless there was additional compensation or some other terms, then you most likely retained the rights to republication.
You should have some boiler plate (kind of like the rights that folks agree when they post an item on ebay or myspace.) that states what the magazine purchased.
That the photo appeared on the cover - if no additional compensation was involved for you - would imply there has not been a change in the rights they bought and you retained.

Thanks Pubby
PM Atlanta Rock Photography. She was talking about doing this a couple of weeks ago so she may have the info you need...Thank you for answering! I have received some good advice from pubby and another photographer friend of mine so I don't think I need to bother Ashley with my question (though if she sees this and wants to chime in I would welcome her advice as well)

If you have submitted pics to a stock photo site, I would love to hear from you. One question in particular.....if you have a photo published, say, on the cover of a magazine, would it then make it exempt from being submitted as a stock photo?
TIA

Maybe later, I am a little short right now.
a little short? reminds me of this joke I heard.......
A guy calls his buddy the horse rancher and says he's sending a friend over to look at a horse.
His buddy asks, "How will I recognize him?"
That's easy, he's a midget with a speech impediment."
So, the midget shows up, and the guy asks him if he's looking for a male or female horse.
"A female horth."
So he shows him a prized filly.
"Nith lookin horth. Can I thee her eyeth"?
So the guy picks up the midget and he gives the horse's eyes the once over.
"Nith eyeth, can I thee her earzth"?
So he picks the little fella up again, and shows him the horse's ears.
"Nith earzth, can I see her mouf"?
The rancher is gettin' pretty ticked off by this point, but he picks him up again and shows him the horse's mouth.
"Nice mouf, ca! n I see her twat"?
Totally mad as fire at this point, the rancher grabs him under his arms and rams the midget's head as far as he can up the horse's twat, pulls him out and slams him on the ground.
The midget gets up, sputtering and coughing.
"Perhapth I should rephrase that; Can I thee her wun awound a widdlebit"?

If you're reading this
My momma is sitting there
Looks like I only got a one way ticket over here
I sure wish I could give you one more kiss
War was just a game we played when we were kids
Well I'm laying down my gun
I'm hanging up my boots
I'm up here with God
And we're both watching over you
Just remember this
I'm in a better place
Soldiers live in peace and angels sing amazing grace
So lay me down
In that open field out on the edge of town
And know my soul is where my momma prayed where that it would go
If you're reading this
If you're reading this
I'm already home
Rest in peace Ryan, and thank you for defending my freedom.
