  1. Did his wife Kathy also graduate from PCHS? I know a Kathy Green that I graduated with (she wasn't Kathy Green then, Green is her married name), but she would be older than he was...so I am not sure if it is the same one. The Kathy I knew graduated in 1988.

  2. I use italian blend, mozzerella and ricotta (I mix the ricotta in the sauce).

The bottom layer of noodles was burnt :(

I think next time i need to make my sauce runnier. It was too thick. I could only get the bottom layer of noodles aand then one more in it so DBF had to unlayer it and redo it for me. I had to much sauce in between each layer. He laughed at me because i got so frustrated. He said "how many times have you ever made lasagna?" i replied with "this is my first", so then he laughed harder saying "it takes practice babe."

Sigh...so hopefully next time will be better. I do think i will boil the noodles first though, i think it will be easier to layer that way.

Always put a little sauce under the first layer of noodles. No burning of noodles this way.

I also prefer the oven ready noodles. They just work better and taste the same or better.

  3. Not going to be Paulding County with a 30 minute drivetime to downtown Atlanta during rush hour.

It is possible...from the Douglas side to where they plan to work...I-75/I-20 juncture.

If she gets something near the GRTA Express Bus in Hiram, she can start early and nap on the bus.

I used to do that in Marietta.

I think she is a single mom and that is the reason for the time crunch.

But, perhaps someone knows of a home in Douglas or Cobb that is available. When I lived in Cobb and worked in town I could make it home in the afternoons in 25 minutes.

  4. Here are the requests per the friend of mine:

I have a friend looking for a place in ATL and is having some difficulty. She needs to rent a 3 bedroom, 1300-1500 sq ft home that has GOOD schools. She has one small, well-behaved dog and two pre-teen children. Needs to be within 30 minutes drivetime of downtown during rush hour. She's an avid gardener and will add curb appeal to any landscaping you have. Email me any prospects!

  5. Opie sounds like he might be part siamese. Are his ears, feet, nose and tail the orange parts? He might be a flame-point, if so.

If you need for me to make some pix for you, I'd be glad to do it.

Our Tanger was like that---orange and white and started out with blue eyes althought htey changed. He is part siamese. He's a very loving cat though---I'd recommend those kind for anyone!

  6. brown paper bag & a clothes iron. Put the iron on the lowest setting. Put the brown paper bag over the item of clothing then run the iron over the bag. It transfers the wax into the paper.

    I ditto this method.

  7. I am in love with this man!!!!

  11. Did you know that there is a tiny graveyard behind Hawthorne Plaza in Mableton? It's kind of hidden away between the backs of the stores. The Boy Scouts used to keep it up. It was so weird for there to be tombstones right outside the back like that, practically right against the shopping center.

Hmmm, no I didn't know about that.

There is actually a slave graveyard on the property of the church where I am currently working.

  12. Very, very nice pictures. I would love to see that myself.

A rub is done by putting a piece of paper over the writing on the stone and rubbing back and forth lightly over the paper with a pencil or crayon or charcoal to trace the letters onto the paper.

Historians frown upon people doing this because it does wear the stones down some and damages them if a lot of people do it.

I love old grave yards too.

    Good job Critty!

I thought that was what was meant...I've heard of people doing that and I think I might have done it once back when I was in college, but I haven't since. I am not as concerned with who the people actually were (for historical purposes), but more of just enjoying viewing the history, so I don't worry with getting the inscriptions on paper. If I were seeking the historical information for geneology, etc., I could see why I would want to do something like that.
