  1. Last night was the coldest I have ever been at work since...I guess the 93 Blizzard. I am still shivering.

Please.....OHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Please.....someone get April here and fast!

I don't think I can take any more freezing.

I always made deals to get out of Cold Weather Training in the Marine Corps, I can't stand it.

I want to feel the warmth of the morning sunshine as the temperature starts out at 68'

I want to get in my 77 Bronco and take the top off (my Bronco that is).

Every year on the hottest day (last year I think it was July 5th or so) I think of the misery of the coldest day in winter and I love it.

    Come on Summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am with you on that.

    Come on Summer! ;)

  2. oooo

    those gusts are getting strong...

the last was at least fifty & I heard something heavy fall outside...

    Anybody else?

    I know what you mean.

I had to go to krogers to pick up a few things I needed and the wind was blowing so hard, I thought I was going to have to get some one to help me shut my car door for me. I was pulling as hard as I could to shut it so I could drive home. lol

I hope no one was watching me. :D

  3. TBAR and I are having a Pcom membership drive.  Simply upgrade your membership to member plus (for only $20/year) and tell Publisher that FreeBird sent you.

Here's what at stake.  Q needs a little help on Tuesday for his show.  Of course, everyone knows that Julie Guy (Princess7) will be there and some other topic of low interest.  I really think that I should be able to be the show support person for the evening because:

    1) It's my birthday this week.

    2) TBAR got to do the show last week.

    3) TBAR was born with a silver spoon in his mouth - all the breaks come his way.  It's time that the little guy has a chance at the big time.

    4) Julie will be sorry if TBAR is around because she will have to dry clean her clothes to take care of the drool.  I will be a perfect gentleman.

So, cut me some slack and upgrade the membership!  Today!

I tried to get my name in red but it keeps going back to the link where I was the first time I became a member. I dont wont to re-register myself.

What am I doing wrong here?

  4. First of all let me say that by no means are my children perfect but now let me tell you how much they respect and treat themselves, myself as well as others.

I work on a routine system with my children.

They know that every weekday we do the following things and I never change them.

We get up at 6am,take our baths, while one is in the tub the other helps me make the beds and I make my coffee, while one is getting dressed and brushing their teeth (Never had a problem with them doing this either) the other is in the tub getting clean, when both are dressed they sit down at the table to eat a good breakfast. If the day is Friday we take a practice spelling test as well. We get in the car by 7:30am and I drive them to school. Why??? Well, not only are they school choice to an awesome school (NEW GA ELEMENTARY) but I enjoy that extra time in the morning to spend with them even if we are just singing at the top of our lungs to a crazy song and acting goofy it is fun and it starts the day off exciting.

We continue this schedule everyday. I pick them up in the afternoon and we drive home, we do our homework first thing when we walk in the door, then we do whatever we want until around 6/6:30 then we eat dinner and by 7 we get our PJ'S on and hop into bed to catch a little TV (They love the reruns of Full House) at 8Pm I go in their rooms to say their bedtime prayers and then lights out. They also have a few small chores around the house like swiffering the floors (This is more of a game than work),helping me make beds and fold clothes. They get $5 a week allowance and they love it. My son saved up enough to buy himself a new gameboy after I misplace his other one and my daughter saves hers for her love of Limited Too, Icing and Claires. They know that I can only give them so much and they earn the rest.

They have learned to appreciate things more when they get to buy them with their own money.

One day I had to cook early(Around 5pm) to go to a meeting and by the time I fed them and made one phone call they had went to their rooms got their PJ's and where ready for bed. I was shocked and realized that my system must be working because I don't have to fight them to do anything like I see a lot of people doing.

I enjoy taking my kids to the grocery store and where ever I go. I love my kids and I know that they love me too and I'm so very proud of them.

They both make straight A's and are great students at school. We love school and they love to learn. Of course this may not work for a lot of people but it works for me.

I use to work a 9-5 job and never saw my children and then one day I decided that my kids are to important for me to miss any part of their lives (I mean dang they grow up so fast anyhow) I'm happy I now get to work a job that allows me to enjoy them while they're young and be able to provide for them to.

Just my 2 cents but I had my kids for a reason and it wasn't to complain about them all day. I enjoy their company.

I will have to agree with you 100%.

I've almost have my children raised, but I still have a 16 year old at home. Both of them were raised on a routine system much like yours. But I had no father figure around in their younger years and I worked a job. Their older now and they have not forgotten their routine. I am so glad that I dont have the problems that I hear most of these parents have. I cant even image having to deal with children with no respect. It makes me wonder when did it all start. My son got angry with me when he was about 2 and hit me on my leg. I whipped his butt very good. It hurt me to do that but guess what , he is 22 and he has never tried it again. The school called me on the job one day and told me that my son was shooting birds at every student and teacher in the hall. He was in first grade that year. I left work, picked him up and whipped his butt took him back to shool. Guess what? Never got another call at work of some teacher complaining about him acting out. He also adviced his sister not to do the things he did. So that tells me 5 years later he never forgoten it. Sorta saved her butt so I have never got a call from any of her teachers.

Always nip that in the bud for all you new parents. You let a child get away with it one time then you will have to deal with it later again.

Yes she is 16 pretty as can be. No she dont date either .

Maybe it will help someone. If it dont. just pass it by. :D

  5. When I'm home. I can't seem to put two pairs of matching socks together if they happen to be black or navy blue, but when I'm under different lighting (i.e. at work), I can tell then that I have on mismatched socks. (Unless I got lucky!)

Does anyone else have this problem, and does it come with senility?  :o

Or do I just need to buy some different kinda light bulbs? (I currently use the normal 100 watt GE ones)

    Thanks

    Q

    Hey Q

I did that one time with shoes, be glad its only socks with you.

I wore a navy blue shoe and a black shoe. Same style though to work, I work in a office with women and men. The women notice but not one single man notice. Did I go home and change? NOOOOOOOOOO I didnt. :D

  6. We had the annual Halloween Party at the bar back in 97 and yep, you guessed it. Some smarta$$ drunk proceeded to make himself at home at MY table and said he wasnt leaving. Yeah right boy! he made the mistake of making the coment when he got up that he couldnt get by my fata$$(wasnt fat at 140 lbs then)that comment was all it took for me to go BLAMMM and away we went at it, no bouncers in sight and the guys are pulling him back and Im beggin' him to come on and getcha some little punk SOB. The guys turned their backs and I jumped him from behind that time and it was all over with. Did ya know how bad a white shirt stains? Never had a mark on me or my clothes. That ole boy walked out with a a$$ whoopin put on him like he'd never seen. Acworth Cops were right outside and laughed at him for getting whooped by a woman   . That wholse incident was caught ion video tape by a friend of mine who was making a tape of all the costumes that night, she walked over after it was all over with and says WELL, did ya have a good time tonight Terri. Honkin will just get downright MEAN if she gets bothered while she's trying to get DURRRRUNK

Yep, you dont need a bouncer you can take care of yourself. Thats a good thing. Thats a very good thing

  7.  Honkin dont fight when she gets drunk, Im a happy drunk. It's when I'm sober that I get into the scraps with em and have to slap em silly for being STUPID. Wish I had a dime for everytime I popped a drunk in the mouth for pawing or being vulgar, we'd have a helluva meet and greet. The bouncers at the bar I've been at for 9 yrs would just stand back until the wuss of a guy yelled for help, never took long lmao, I'd scratch em up. Oughtta be ashamed of myself but sometimes ya just gotta put em in their place and send em home to momma(wife-g/f) with ripped clothes and scrathes and cuts    buncha idiots. I'm a wild one when they mess with me. :ninja:

    u go girl.

Well who needs a bouncer when your there lol

I'm just a little to little to be slapping some one around though.

  8. High class needs to stay in Butthead(Buckhead)..God knows I'm only a couple minutes from thse E. Cobb SBOB bit*ches already, them and me just dont get along. I'm just too real for high class folks, if that's what money does to people I'll just stay poor all my life. :D

U got that right, I meant folks that get drunk and start fights and leave so drunk that they can hardly walk.

Well they have bouncers to take care of them kinda folks anyways.

  9. Hiram P.D. has a hard time keeping up with all the accidents on 278, how are they going to control a Cowboys type bar? I wouldn't want to see that in the old Publix building, but it's bound to happen sooner or later. Paulding County is growing. We have everything else, why not a big bar? Lots of fights and drunks. Yee haw. Can't wait. <--Sarcasm by the way

Well when I first replied on this post at the beginning. I was thinking more of an upper class kinda folks at Cowboys. Excuse me of even thinking duhhhhhhhh.

By coming back and reading the replies that were made. Maybe there's not that many folks that have any. Sorry.

  10. Okay ladies,

    '

I had the same problem with my children clothes until they turn 11. When you turn 11 at my house you do your on clothes. Both my son and daughter have done their own clothes and I notice if their clothes are not dirty they hang them back up instead of throwing in the dirty clothes. Every once in a while my son will sneak a pair jeans and shirt in my dughter baskets and she will wash them for him. She got tired of that so next time she caught his clothes her wash, she told him she was wearing them herself.

But let the children do their own clothes. Buy them their own baskets and teach them to use the washer and dryer. :D

My son is 22 and my daughter is 16 and I have not done their clothes in a long long time.

  11. I got me a dog from the Paulding County Animal Shelter to play with my top dollar Saint Bernard that I drove all the way to TN for and she has been a great dog. We named her Pepper. She takes her guard dog watching job very serious. She became a good friend to Roxy and the family. So if you need a good loving pet go to the animal shelter. They need your love and they will love you back. I have posted both thier pictures in the AJC santa pets, with their santa hats and bells. Pepper is our lucky dog. Thanks Paulding County to whom ever didnt wont her. She has been a perfect pet

  12. Glad you posted this post.

I own the woods next to my house and for some reason or another people think that its a place to dump their leaves and trimmings. I have caught a person in action dumping their leaves on my property and it really tics me off that anyone would have thought I wanted their trash. I ask him kindly please do not dump your leaves on my property. (This was a yard cleaning service person that some one has hired to clean their yard and they dump their crap on mine.) Just last week I came home to a pile of leaves dumped on my property again. My daughter had to rake it all up, cause that is where she stands to catch the school bus. There is nothing like walking through a pile of wet leaves before you catch the bus for school.

So please if you have to dump your leaves please use your own property not mine. I had to hang up no dumping signs up and thats a shame cause you would think people would know better.
