  1. I tip too, but with the amt of money you pay for the food and then the tip on top of that....it ain't worth it!!! Seriously.....the food's not that great. I don't understand the whole drive through thing though. I mean geez....put a dang window there. I certainly don't pay the McDonald who brings me my food when I'm asked to pull up when my foods not ready.

  2. I called and since she isn't showing any signs of a problem right now they said just watch her and call her Dr in the am.They also said that the throwing up has nothing to do with her not breathing. I had to wake her up they talked to her to see if they could hear anything? But they said so far so good. She has kept 4 sips of water down in the last 30 mins to hour so signs are good.

When we were at the Dr's this afternoon they said they didn't hear any wheezing but basiclly gave her the meds to be safer than sorry.

If a 250-KIDS nurse gave you this information I need to know ASAP! I will contact my supervisor TODAY to look into this.

  3. Wow! What a handsome young man. He looks so full of joy and happiness in every picture. Provol, I can't imagine the pain you are going through. I hope you do find some comfort in knowing there are so many friends, family and strangers who are praying for you and who's hearts break for you.

  4. Guinevere, I believe the same as your parents do! :ninja: :) ;)

I believe that everyone will be given the chance to hear about Jesus Christ and His gospel. If not on earth, then in the afterlife (in a very, very simple nutshell). For example, I certainly don't believe that people who lived in the remote pacific islands or jungles in South America in the 1500's are bound for hell!! They can't be held accountable for not knowing Jesus Christ, right? This is my belief anyway.

  5. Mountainwoman,

How can someone make a choice if they don't know what the choices are?

Why would you suggest that sharing the gospel if forcing your beliefs?

I can see you are new around here! :) You should go read a few old threads in the religion forum and you'll know exactly where she's coming from. Welcome to the site, mathetes.

  6. I am not fighting so please don't take it as such, but when you attack and belittle one's beliefs that they hold AS SACRED as you hold your own, don't you think that it hurts their feelings and causes them grief and pain?? That can hurt just as much as a physical attack. When children are "abused" they can be physically abused or emotionally abused. The emotional abuse hurts almost as badly as the physical, wouldn't you agree?? I have seen enough "debating" if you will on PCOm to tell you that you are not changing anyone's minds. I don't foresee any pagans tagging along to church with you or any mormons converting to Catholisism or the muslim girl wanting to go to the Baptist church. It doesn't seem to be doing anyone any good other than hurting everyone's feelings. Just my humble opinion and observation. Carry on and god speed to all.

  7. In the time I have been here, Christians have been mocked openly for their beliefs, called narrow minded, unenlightened, simple minded, told to leave if we don’t like it, get over it, etc ... so please, don't come off as you guys are just the victims here.

Just because I challenge/attack a belief does not make it personal, I have not made anything personal. Just because I disagree with your beliefs does not make it personal ... it makes it a general disagreement with the belief you have. If you take it personally, that I can not help.

How many times have one of you said something like "Your God must not be all powerful, if this and that ...." or “Your God is not a loving God because people are going to hellâ€?.  I held my comments in the Pagans thread for a long time, but I felt you all were leading someone that claims to be a Christian down a wrong path ... when I did speak up, I was blasted by you guys and personally attack ... so again don't try to come off as a innocent victim. Yes it is her choice if she wants to go down that path, but I just wanted to remind her, what the Bible says about it.

So as I have said before, if you wanna post your stuff … fine, but if it seems to me that you are leading someone down the path of destruction or giving erroneous facts about the Christian faith ... I will stand up and take action.

Weren't yall just doing that to a Mormon the other day?? Regaurdless of what you think, they actually profess to believe in and follow Jesus Christ and yet some of you guys were jumping all over them several days ago. It looks like we have a case of the "hypocrits" going around on this forum. You guys need to look in the mirror.

It's funny, I don't post much, but I lurk alot. It's the "Christians" that do all of the attacking over here, but yet they are the firsts to cry "they are attacking us". Go back and read some of your posts .You may just feel a little ashamed of yourself. Who knows?

  8. But Tazman, regardless of how you intend to come across, when you call people's religion a "silly belief", when you attack beliefs that we hold sacred,  when we are called all sorts of things, when we are accused (albeit indirectly)of every kind of atrocity, it is incredibly difficult to see a person's good intent.  I have personally several times tried to waylay some of this with "cutsie" come backs in an attempt to lighten the mood but this has usually just made things worse.

Imagine if we Pagans said the same sort of things about Christians on this board.  Imagine the "righteous anger" then when there is so much "righteous anger", and yes hateful comments, when we are simply answering questions about our beliefs.  We live in a Christian culture that is so all-pervasive that I don't even think you realize how "hate filled" your comments seem to us non-Christians.  We are expected to just "suck it up" or "get over it".  Well I for one find it a little difficult at times to just "get over it".  You have no idea how many times I just bite my lip or ignore these posts.  "My God versus your God" back and forth bickering is pointless and I try not to go down that road.  But to sit idly by and not answer name calling and accusations is very, very difficult.  And I believe you have no idea how difficult.

I was raised in a Christian home, as were most, if not all of the Pagans on these boards.  I know the scriptures very well and have rejected that message as the path for me.  If you believe that rejection will land me square in hell then you are certainly entitled to that beleif.  But remember what Christ said to his apostles.  When you go into a town and deliver my message of salvation if they reject you and my message, turn your back on that town and when you leave, shake the dust out of your shoes.

Perhaps it would be good for you to shake the Pagan "dust" from your shoes as well as Christ commanded.  We know His message and we have rejected it.  Thanks for reading this,

    C.W.

WOW!! Awesome post CW. Very wise indeed.

  9. I have seen a truck (I can't remember what kind) riding around Paulding County a couple of times over the years that had tons of Pagan type sticker all over the back of it. There was probably, I don't know, maye 6 to 8 stickers. Any idea who this might be? It seems like it was an SUV but it could have been a pick up truck with a camper top, I can't remember.

  10. In Acts 11, we learn that believers in Christ were first called "Christians" in Antioch. One of the key features of these Christians was that they accepted and heeded prophets who came among them - and this was after the Ascension of Christ. Look at Acts 11:25-30:

25 Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

27 And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.

28 And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

30 Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

In the above passage, prophets (apparently Christian) from Jerusalem came and prophesied of a coming famine, and the Christian community in Antioch apparently accepted and responded to the message of those prophets by sending relief to their brethren in Judaea. The saints (members of the Church) in Antioch were Christian, and had prophets, after the coming of Christ. Later in Acts 13:1, we again read of prophets being among the Christian community at Antioch:

1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

    Any thoughts??

  11. Here a just a few reasons I believe Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were FALSE PROPHETS:

All of the statements below are from Mormon authors in good standing with the Mormon Church:

The true gospel was lost from the earth. Mormonism is its restoration (Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 635). They teach there was an apostasy and the true church ceased to exist on earth.

We need prophets today, the same as in the Old Testament (Mormon Doctrine, p. 606).

The Book of Mormon is more correct than the Bible (History of the Church, 4:461).

If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation. There is no salvation [the context is the full gospel including exaltation to Godhood] outside the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Doctrine, p. 670).

Three are many gods (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163).

There is a mother god (Articles of Faith, by James Talmadge, p. 443).

God used to be a man on another planet (Mormon Doctrine, p. 321; Joseph Smith, Times and Seasons, Vol. 5, pp. 613-614; Orson Pratt, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 2, p. 345; Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 7, p. 333).

After you become a good Mormon, you have the potential of becoming a god (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp. 345-347, 354).

God the Father had a Father (Joseph Smith, History of the Church, Vol. 6, p. 476; Heber C. Kimball, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 5, p. 19; Milton Hunter, First Council of the Seventy, Gospel through the Ages, p. 104-105).

God resides near a star called Kolob (Pearl of Great Price, pp. 34-35; Mormon Doctrine, p. 428).

God the Father has a body of flesh and bones (Doctrine and Covenants, 130:22).

God is in the form of a man (Joseph Smith, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p. 3).

God is married to his goddess wife and has spirit children (Mormon Doctrine, p. 516).

We were first begotten as spirit children in heaven and then born naturally on earth (Journal of Discourse, Vol. 4, p. 218).

The first spirit to be born in heaven was Jesus (Mormon Doctrine, p. 129).

The Devil was born as a spirit after Jesus "in the morning of pre-existence" (Mormon Doctrine, p. 192).

Jesus and Satan are spirit brothers and we were all born as siblings in heaven to them both (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163).

A plan of salvation was needed for the people of earth so Jesus offered a plan to the Father and Satan offered a plan to the Father but Jesus' plan was accepted. In effect the Devil wanted to be the Saviour of all Mankind and to "deny men their agency and to dethrone god" (Mormon Doctrine, p. 193; Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p. 8).

God had sexual relations with Mary to make the body of Jesus (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 4, p. 218, 1857; Vol. 8, p. 115). This one is disputed among many Mormons and not always 'officially' taught and believed. Nevertheless, Brigham Young, the second prophet of the Mormon church, taught it.

Jesus' sacrifice was not able to cleanse us from all our sins, (murder and repeated adultery are exceptions) (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3, p. 247, 1856).

Good works are necessary for salvation (Articles of Faith, p. 92).

There is no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith as a prophet of God (Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. 1, p. 188).

Baptism for the dead (Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. II, p. 141). This is a practice of baptizing each other in place of non-Mormons who are now dead. Their belief is that in the afterlife, the "newly baptized" person will be able to enter into a higher level of Mormon heaven.

The Holy Ghost is a male personage (Le Grand Richards, Salt Lake City, A Marvellous Work and a Wonder, 1956, p. 118; Journal of Discourses, Vol. 5, p. 179).

More from the Mouths of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young.

      Joseph Smith

"God made Aaron to be the mouthpiece for the children of Israel, and He will make me to be God to you in His stead, and the elders to be mouth for me; and if you don't like it, you must lump it" (Documentary History of the Church, vol. 6, pp 319-320).

"I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I" (D.H C., vol. 6, p. 408-409).

"The whole Earth shall bear me witness that I, like the towering rock in the midst of the ocean, which has withstood the mighty surges of the warring waves for centuries, am impregnable ... I combat the errors of ages; I meet the violence of mobs; I cope with illegal proceedings from executive authority; I cut the gordian knot of powers, and I solve mathematical problems of universities, with truth -- diamond truth; and God is my right hand man." (D.H.C., Vol. 6, p. 78).

"And I prophesy in the name of the Lord God of Israel, unless the United States redress the wrongs committed upon the Saints in Missouri and punish the crimes committed by her officers that in a few years the government will be utterly overthrown and wasted and there will not be so much as a potsherd left, ..." (D.H C., vol. 5, p. 394). [This prophecy was made in May of 1843, and the United States government has not been overthrown and wasted.]

"Here then is eternal life -- to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done before you..." (Teachings of the Prophet, Joseph Smith, p. 346).

"In the beginning, the head of the Gods called a council of the Gods; and they came together and concocted a plan to create the world and people it" (Ibid., p. 349).

"The greatest responsibility in this world that God has laid upon us is to seek after our dead" [Our God of the Bible has forbidden us to have anything to do with the dead (Deut. 18:10,11).

    Brigham Young

"I have never yet preached a sermon and sent it out to the children of men, that they may not call Scripture. Let me have the privilege of correcting a sermon, and it is as good a scripture" (Journa1 of Discourses, vol. 13, p. 95; also see vol. 13, p. 264).

"I say, rather than the apostates should flourish here, I will unsheath my Bowie knife, and conquer or die. [Great commotion in the congregation, and a simultaneous burst of feeling, assenting to the declaration.] Now, you nasty apostates, clear out, or judgment will be put on the line ... If you say it is right, raise your hands [All hands up], let us call upon the Lord to assist us in this, and every good work." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, p. 83)

"I could refer you to plenty of instances where men have been righteously slain, in order to atone for their sins ... This is loving our neighbor as ourselves, if he needs help, help him, and if he wants salvation and it is necessary to spill his blood on the earth in order that he may be saved, spill it." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 4,  p. 220). [Many were killed under what is called the "Blood Atonement Doctrine" Leaving Mormonism was one of the sins that the blood of Jesus could not atone for, and a person's own blood must be shed by Mormon priests as an atonement for sin.]

"I intend to meet them on their own grounds. ... and if any miserable scoundrel comes here, cut their throats." [And they obeyed; a wagon train of innocent men, women, and children were massacred at Mountain Meadows under the orders of Brigham Young. They were passing through Utah, and Brigham thought they were from Illinois where Joseph Smith had been killed. Many more were "atoned."]

"Gold and silver grow, and so does every other kind of metal, the same as the hair upon my head or the wheat in the field; ..." (JOD., vol. 1, p. 219).

"Who can tell us of the inhabitants of this little planet that shines of an evening, called the Moon? ... So it is with regard to the inhabitants of the Sun. Do you not think it is inhabited? I rather think it is. Do you think there is any life there? No Question of it; it was not made in vain." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, p. 219).

"Do you think we shall ever be admitted as a State into the Union without denying the principal of polygamy? If we are not admitted until then, we shall never be admitted." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 11, p. 269). [The Edmunds Act was passed in 1882 forbidding polygamy in the territory, and only then was Utah allowed to enter the Union. At that point the LDS church officially gave up polygamy. Another false prophecy from the Mormon prophet!]

"I think these preliminaries will satisfy me, and I feel prepared to take my text. It is the words of Jesus Christ, but where they are in the Bible I cannot tell you now, for I have not taken pains to look at them.  I have had so much to do, that I have not read the Bible for many years. I used to read and study it, but did not understand the spirit and meaning of it ..." (1854 Conference discourse, October 8). [brigham Young obviously did not understand the Bible, and neither do any of the other Mormon prophets!]

Why would you put this much effort in researching a religion that has nothing to do with you?? You may try to put this much effort in learning more about the religion that you have chosen to follow. Just a suggestion.

  12. This is the info that I have but I have tried calling for the last couple of days with no answer and I tried the address but couldn't find it downtown and the people I asked had no clue where it was.
