  1. Thank you!!!

My daughter actually talked to this person - the police are on it; its just a mattr of time now!

Here is hoping the good guys win this one.

Just an FYI, you may not be able to get your stuff back right away as the may have to hold some or all of it as evidence in case of a trial.

Not sure how that works nowdays.

    GO GET 'EM LAW ENFORCEMENT!!

  2. We will just agree to disagree when it comes to Dale, Sr. Yes there was a huge amount of folks who hated Dale, Sr and I was one of them!!!!! Not until he gave DW a ride in the Pennzoil car when he got screwed by Tim Beverly after he sold his team (and Steve Parks broke his leg in a wreck) did I become a fan of Senior. But, giving DW a ride when that happened I felt he wasn't as bad a guy as I had thought.

But, the rest of your post I disagree with.

I know exactly what you are referring to, "the pass in the grass" as it is referred to. I am NO WAY a bandwagoner. I was going to NASCAR races at Talladega in the early 1970's after the Alabama Gang aka Allison Brothers got in the fight with Cale Yarborough at Daytona. CBS and NASCAR did not want the coverage to show empty stands (although all that was at 'Dega at the time was the front stretch/OV Hill). So all the HS bands in the area were invited to do a pre-race parade so there would be bodies in the stands. People watching TV had no idea it was just a bunch of us teen-agers.

Having attended races since that time until my strokes in 2008 I KNOW Dale, Sr had more fans in attendance than all the other drivers combined. Also, having a sports apparel business prior to his death I can honestly say he WAS the #1 driver in sales.

Dale was popular long before his death. He may have gained fans when he died but I know NASCAR lost a lot of fans. Many of his longtime faithful fans refused to watch NASCAR after he died. They said NASCAR wasn't the same - and it hasn't been. Not only on the track but NASCAR officials listened to what Dale had to say. Since his death NASCAR drivers have not had a voice. Like him or hate him you always knew Dale was going to make it exciting. DH and I were sitting on the start/finish line the last race he won at Talladega. He was no where to be found until that last lap. I vividly remember looking down and asking my husband "WHERE did he come from???" It was electric!!

Like I said I will agree to disagree with you and as I said in my original posts we have different opinions. But, I am speaking from MY experience and observance as a lifelong NASCAR fan and business person. :)

If you look at SR's popularity, it grew as the "old" drivers retired, quit for health reasons or became non-factors.

In other words, if you were an older NASCAR fan, you pulled for Dale because he was what was left from the "old guard".

Back when the AL Gang, Petty, Pearson, Yarborough, Waltrip, Elliot and others were still active and competetive, there were not as many Dale fans in the stands.

Now when it came to marketing, that is where Dale outdid all others.

Heck he even taught NASCAR a few things.

You can thank Dale for those "special" paint jobs on the cars, Dale started that so he could market a new "collector" car.

This is not a knock by any means, good business for him.

(since I didn't collect that kind of thing, more power to 'em)

But Dale wasn't the "greatest" driver ever and the way they say his name, sorta hushed with reverance, bugs me.

He was a dang good driver, who was even better at marketing and who stayed competetive long after those he started with dropped down.

And when you mention the AL Gang, don't forget Neal. :)

Remember what Bobby said after his and Neal's wrecks, "Neal can't get the words out and I can't remember the ones he does get out."

  3. NASCAR fans have a way of doing that - repeatedly. At one time Dale, Sr was even hated by many (winning all the time can do that just as a lot of people don't like Jimmie Johnson right now for the same reason) as was Tony Stewart. In the case of DW and Tony I think they gained more fans when they tamed their mouth. After all DW was known as "Jaws" and was the first driver to voice an opinion in a "Gentleman's" sport. However, I don't see Kyle Busch going from being hated to beloved or at least it won't happen with THIS NASCAR fan!!

No disrespect meant to Dale Sr, but his death has always reminded me of a John Lennon quote.

When Elvis died someone called Lennon for a quote, here is what he said: "Good career move."

It has amazed me, and I do mean amazed me, how Dale Sr. has been, for lack of a better word, deified by the NASCAR fans and the sport.

Back when he was racing there was a huge number of people that hated him.

I do not remember this happening with any other driver, Fireball Roberts or whoever.

I very seriously doubt that Dale Sr, had he lived would be as popular or thought of quite so well as he is now.

Before any Dale fans come after me, I liked Dale ever since he went through the grass to beat Bill and if you don't know what that means, then you are just a bandwagoner.

  4. Nope. Not even close. I'm not a liberal either. They are the only ones that cry when things don't go their way. I just want the County to man up and stop walking around with their chest pumped out like they are the biggest cock on the block and get to work and use our tax dollars with common sense.

Always remember to ask if the customer would like to Super Size those fries.

Aww, heck what I am doing telling you that, after 30 years you have that down pat.

But I do agree that more common sense would be helpful.

  5. We will never benefit from the Economic Development department. Either a company wants to move to Paulding because of what we offer or it doesn't. No amount of spineless drool from an overpaid troll will convince them we are any more attractive than we truly are.

As for not being qualified. I am highly skilled and have a very good job with over 30 years of experience at what I do. You on the other hand are the worst excuse for a 'credible news reporter' that I have ever heard. All of Paulding.com is biased by whoever you can whore into spending money on advertisements with them. People like you are what’s wrong with this county and society as a whole.

After reading this post, I'm guessing, based on my past experiences with customer (no) service reps, that you must have put your 30 years in that job.

Either customer (no) service or in telemarketing or in collections.

Those people always seem to get real mad when things do not go the way they want them to.

Sort of like my 3 year old grandkid does.

  6. I think I see a great blackmarket opportunity.

Joe Kennedy made his fortune running bootleg liquor, this may be my chance to become the next Joe Kennedy. (but on the right side if the political aisle)

I can see it now, fame...fortune...women...power...all due to a little rabbit.

  7. No faith in our justice system, the Mob found him guilty. How can anybody have any faith in our justice system if we decide from the outside a person is guilty or innocent rather than relying on the system in place. OJ was aquitted of all charges by a Jury of his peers as per the laws of this country, but that's not good enough is it? I didn't like the verdict either but I have faith in our system of justice and had to accept it. No faith, the Mob knows better, right???

Being found not guilty does not mean he did not do the crime.

Only someone with a mental defect or someone so delusional that they refuse to see the truth can say that OJ did not do the crime.

The evidence was overwhelming and I do not intend to retry that case.

I am just saying that maybe when picking a name to make the point that "the Mob" isn't always right you should pick someone who was actually innocent, Richard Jewel comes to mind and there are many others.

  8. By the same token none of us would want to be judged in the court of public opinion. But the far reaching effects for the so charged often last a life time. Child molestation charges are always page one, but the not guilty verdicts are on page 12, if they get published at all. The reputation of the guy will be damned forever and I doubt he'll ever get a teaching job again as The Mob have judged him guilty and school systems will always find a way to keep him away, people will not want to "take the chance" around their children, even if the charges were totally dropped. Not to mention the financial destruction of one's life having to defend yourself against such charge and the deep pockets of the DA's office. We're all not like OJ Simpson who had the financial means of defending himself and still got destroyed by The Mob. It is the ultimate no confidence vote for the Justice System in this country, the Voice of The Mob...

Not sure OJ is a good example to make your point.

Next time maybe name someone that didn't do the crime.
