Where Were You on 9-11-01, When You Heard About the Twin Towers?
james_mills replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I went to Ground Zero in January of 2002 and that churches fence was still full of makeshift memorials and posters for "missing" persons. It was still a very somber and sobering experience that I will never forget. -
Where Were You on 9-11-01, When You Heard About the Twin Towers?

I had flown to Greenville, NC the night before for a meeting at Grady White Boats. Two colleagues had flown in from California. We were in a conference room meeting that had started at 8:00 AM and found out the first plane had hit the towers when we took a mid-morning break from our meeting. I think we watched the second plane hit the towers live on TV or saw it shortly after it happened. It is funny that what had seemed like important issues when we began the day didn't seem nearly as important as we tried to contact relatives and co-workers. One of my employees, when I finally contacted -

I came upon this shortly after it had happened and before the emergency workers arrived. It happened right at the intersection of Dabbs Bridge Road and Highway 61. A terrible scene. Prayers go out for all families involved. -

They are ok visually, but I prefer video which, I know, is even harder to produce. The sound quality is not as good as we are used to with video either. -

My heart goes out to his family and friends. He and my son were in Boy Scouts together. I cannot imagine what his family must be going through right now. I too spent time camping with Terry when he was younger and in the Boy Scout Troop 2741. Since then, Terry would always make a point of coming up and speaking to me whenever I saw him around town. I saw him last at a football game last year and he told me about his jeep. He was a good kid and I will miss him. I have a photo or two taken on scouting trips if the family wants them, I'll be glad to send them to them. I hope someone p -
Banner ads setup ready for business

Would you be able to run a PSA Banner ad for our Patriots Touchdown Club's Auction this Saturday? The details are in my posts under the Patriots Football topic. It'd be a neat way to test their effectiveness. I could do a poll of all of the people there and ask who had seen the ad on p.com and report back to you. Just an idea. -

I have fond memories of watching his show on a 12-inch-black-and-white tv set while growing up. Just waiting for all of those ping-pong balls to fall on him. The magic drawing board was neat to watch too! He was preceded in death many years ago by Mr. Greenjeans too.

This must be why the flags around the county are at half-staff. What a tribute!
