  1. Starting Friday night my sister started seeing a boxer running around her neighborhood.

It is a boxer, male, brown with a white chest.

She didn't know if he was neutered or had cropped ears.

He seems very friendly and keep trying to come inside her house.

I asked her if he had a " pretty face with a square muzzle, or more like a squished face like a bull dog"

She said more of a pretty face.

He is also very skinny and has a bloody spot on his neck as if he had been in a fight, no tags or collar.

My sister and her neighbor are currently feeding him and the neighbor is going to try and bring him in for the night.

This is in the 92 and Macland area.

If either she or the neighbor will put the dog in a garage/yard for awhile, they can call Animal Control to come pick him up.

  2. My sound is dead on my computer - someone want to give me the gist of what the videos are about??

Oh yes you have to be careful. This reminds me of an episode of Judge Judy I saw a while back. A customer was suing because she bought a $200 cell phone and all she received was a printout of the ebay listing along with a picture of the phone. The seller insisted she didn't do anything wrong because she put "Photo Only" under the huge list of specs on the phone. She said the buyer should have read the whole thing!

   BUT I've got to know - WHO WON????

oh yeah, I'm all for a SEX SHOP IN PAULDING COUNTY!!!!!!!!!!! (I need a job)

  3. Everyone would be better off if she would turn them into Animal Control now - this way, the adopters MUST have each puppy spayed/neutered.

If you neighbor needs assistance to have the female (mommy) spayed PLEASE PM me, Meltid, MizCue, Creative One, OR ANY OTHER PHS volunteer!

we can have mom spayed BEFORE she gets pregnant again!!!

  4. This was not a rule towards a certain dog. The website said it in bold print at the end of the ad. So of course you fall in love with the dog and then you see the rule. I just think it's wrong. There are soooooooo many dogs out there looking for good homes. My 2 kids are wonderful to animals. It just really made me mad. So if anyone knows of a maltese anywhere please let me know.

Now that we all know this, we can keep our eyes open :) PLEASE don't buy from a breeder.

Have you searched Petfinder.com? You may also want to contact Jennifer's Pet Rescue, she tends to have small breeds available for adoption. (and as always, keep visiting the county shelter!!!)

While there are many rescues that offer a great service there are just as many that are corrupt. Some of the rules seem to do more harm than good. I personally, think you are doing more civic duty by adopting from a county shelter. The problem is the rescues come in and gobble up the most desirable pets and sell adopt them out for hundreds of dollars. They are the same ones you could have gotten at the shelter the previous weekend for $35. While there are some very reputable rescues there are also some very poor ones that give them all a bad name.

Like you, there is a particular type of dog that I have been looking for at the shelter for two years. I will just keep waiting.

    What breed are you seeking??

Also, you have to keep in mind, most rescues put $$ into vet care for each pet (this isn't something a county shelter has the funds to do) so your adoption fee is simply reimbursing the rescue - if not for that specific pet, for the one before or after it that needed vet care.

  5. I don’t agree with putting the puppy down. At least give the dog a fighting chance at home. It’ll by hard, messy, and sad, but I know I’d want the chance to fight it out.

Let me just say, for the record, I wasn't suggesting euthansia - but only reminding her that if this puppy was THAT sick, it should be considered as an alternative to suffering.

    that's all.

    ;)

  6. "Vela, who is from St. Anthony, Idaho, wept on the witness stand Saturday as he described shooting al-Janabi after the Iraqi civilian stumbled upon a hiding place where Vela and five other Army snipers were sleeping near Iskandariyah, 30 miles south of Baghdad."

This says it all for me ~

    :glare:

    stupid f*** government.

  7. My daughter adopted a puppy @ PC Humane Society & Animal Control Thursday afternoon, was told she had her shots, been dewormed etc.

By Sat Bella was throwing up worms, been to vet & they say she also has parvo and needs to be isolated and hospitalized and not many vets will deal with this etc and it will cost approx $1000 and up.

My daughter calls me crying because the vet said her dog would die a slow painful death if she didn't do the treatments.

I know the paper says paper where it says they are not responsible at PC humane but we need help.

Can anyone give me any info, will the humane society help or what can we do when she doesn't have that kind of money nor do I.

She took this puppy because they said her time was up and she was due to be put down and once in her arms that was it, she loved her already. She is a 6 week old shepherd mix and sweet as can be.

Please does anyone know how we can get help?

    Thanks in advance!!

first of all, I would argue the comment that ANYone at Animal Control TOLD your daughter that this puppy was "due to be put down" -

secondly, as Jess said, most vets will help with home treatments, if hers will not, she needs to find a new vet.

I would personally change vets after being told that my puppy would suffer a slow painful death if not treated by them. :glare:

Also, just so you know - The "shots" AC were referring to were distemper & probably a deworming. This is by no means the whole realm of vaccs needed - and that is why they ALWAYS recommend follow up with a vet.

My thoughts are with your daughter and her puppy - I wish them well. Please let us know how they are doing.

    -_-

My daughter is going to the emergency vet right now but the vet i just talked to said they need IV fluids to stay alive until they are better.

What did you have to do to care for the pup? Also, did you have to pay the 500 up front?

The emergency vet won't make payment arrangements. Of course my daughter doesn't have that kind of money up front.

I did talk to Paulding animal control and she said Holly could bring Bella back but no vet comes in until Wed and she is too sick to wait that long. We can't just let her die.

You can give IV fluids from home if the vet will show her how. Again, if this vet isn't willing, find a new one!

The ER is going to charge her just for walking in the door (does she realize that?)
