  1. Hello, just wanted to let everyone know that the relief truck to Ocean Springs is on it's way to Mississippi! I was really overwhelmed by the generousity by this website! Because of you all the 30 foot truck was expanded to an 18 wheeler!! We had a donation of an 18 wheeler late last night (in addition to the 30 foot truck which will leave tomorrow). I apologize for not getting in touch with some of you that wanted to donate but I did not expect such a response...you guys are awesome! I know there are still several ways you all can give (just read posts here) and Sam's club has collection cans inside near the service desk! I'm getting ready to turn in....what a day...

    God Bless.

  2. Hello there, I am starting a "grass roots" organization which basically helps the elderly/disabled with outside lawncare at no charge. We are in need of any lawn mowers, weed eaters, edgers etc.... Also, if you think you would like to volunteer some time please respond. Thanks.

  3. Just wanted to let everyone know of a great place to get your vehicle fixed if you are unsure of an honest mechanic to go to. I had a situation where I had an estimate done at a local repair shop for a total of $800.00!!! I then took it to Donnie's Auto Repair in Hiram (near intersection of Hiram Sudie/Hwy 92) and it turned out to be a $115.00 repair!!! I am so wary of auto mechanics because I have been taken so many times, it sure is reassuring to know that this guy exists. I am NOT an employee here just a real satisfied customer who would love to save someone elso the agony of an unscruplous auto mechanic elsewhere.

  4. Good post.  I am curious, why do you say "thousands" commit suicide each year?

Where does this figure come from? I know this has happened, but wouldn't have thought so many in a year.  The loss of one child is too many.

This is taken from an article from a USA Today article dated February 22, 2004 where it lists approximately 3000 children take their lives every year in regards to sexual identities including homosexual, bisexual and transgender issues.

  5. I think it is real sad when a parent sees this billboard and says "I can't let my children see this".

Thousands of children each year commit suicide because of what they are taught by ignorant parents in regards to homosexuality. Children grow up in these situations hating themselves and keeping things bottled up inside only to end their lives as they go through the critical period of adolescence. We know this for the letters left behind tell us the pain they have endured.

I am not advocating homosexual behavior here but am advocating communication between parents and their children. Use this billboard as way to open a real dialogue between you and your child if brought up. They will eventually be faced with real choices soon enough, who better to explain this than you??

  6. Hello, I have a safe for sale that came out of a jewelry store. It is about 3 1/2 feet high by 2 feet wide and 3 feet deep. It is tan in color and works great. It has a dial and separate locking feature. It is a high rated safe. Paid over $1,000.00 but will sell for $300.00. This is a heavy duty model. I will help with delivery, it can be moved on a dolly.

  7. Hello, I am looking to sell some oak showcases. These came out of a jewelry store and are located in Hiram. There are 3 connected cases (they come apart) which run about 20 feet and a free standing case about 5 feet long. They all have glass tops/fronts with locking doors and nice sliding platforms underneath. The free standing case has three drawers underneath. I am willing to sell these at the best offer. They came out of jewelry store in Nashville and cost over $8,000.00 originally. They can be used to display jewelry, coins or whatever... A great deal for the someone who can use them.

  8. Hello, I am trying to find a white refrigerator (simple freezer on top with regular section on bottom....no side by side) and a white electric range/oven. My mother has just bought a house and is on limited funds, we are trying to find her something used but in good condition. If any of you all have something or know of someone please let me know.

    Thanks

  9. Howdy ya'll. Just wanted to let you all know that we have a house available for rent at 1167 McClung Road in Hiram. It is very conveniant to everything around Hiram. It is a 3 bedroom/2 bath house with large kitchen/dining area and deck on the back. It also has a dog run in the backyard. It sits on a corner lot (intersection of McClung/Rich Davis Rd) and is a little over one acre. Best part is that it is only $775.00 per month!! Won't last long. Please call Craig at (404)388-6753, mention that you saw it on Paulding.com and get $50.00 off your first monthes rent!!

  10. Craig Claiborne has some great Southern Cooking cookbooks. A great place to find those church/bank cookbooks are thrift stores! I've accumulated probably 150 cookbooks and most have come from thrift stores (Salvation Army, Goodwill etc...) where I've paid 25 or 50 cents.

  11. I say good riddence too! They had a health report score in the 30's just a few monthes ago! That place has been hard to get going now for almost 15 years. Mexican sounds good................

  12. I have been a listener to the Kim Komando show (the computer "goddess")...her website is updated daily with LOADS of great information and free downloads. I have always had problems with spyware, pop ups etc... I just did a quick download of Antivir XP (totally free) and I have been free of pop ups for nearly a week now, not to mention that my computer is going lighten' fast throught the internet :)

  13. So....does anyone know of another gym that is good? I heard a rumor a gym was coming in behind Jim & Nicks....anyone else hear anything or have some suggestions. I got to get started on my New Year's Resolution to lose 20 pounds..... <_<

  14. Just happened to see one on clearance at the Target in Hiram. It was half off...located on the back wall shelf to the right side (electronics area) in a box (this was a beginner set with instructions, video etc....) near the stereo displays...it was there a couple of days ago. Good luck.

  15. I was a member about 5 years ago when they were in their old location near the movie theater and then at their present location. My number one complaint was the "outsider" feeling you got. There also was this woman there named Jane who was really rude. Also the trainers at that time were very much into themselves. I left and joined Holland fitness and hired a personal trainer there who was great. Unfortumately, he is no longer there. I have recently wanted to hire a trainer and get back on track with a gym locally....let me know if anyone knows of any other gyms around.

  16. I have the perfect gift....what woman does not love jewelry? What man does not love buying it at 60% off!!! We can make both of you happy. We have gold bracelets starting at just $25.00 (nice sized ones) and sterling silver ones starting at just $2.75!!!! Check out our great selection of closeouts and save over those expensive jewelry stores.

  17. We have a house that just became available today for rent. Thought we would give anyone a chance to rent it here first. It is on a large lot about 1/2 mile off 92 on Ridge Road. Rent is low at $750.00 per month. 3 bedrooms, living room, laundry room, kitchen, dining area, front porch and covered car port. It is much nicer than an apartment and less expensive! You can reach us at 404-388-6753. :)

  18. I purchased a school fundraising coupon book which gives you all sorts of buy one get one offers from various restaurants. The problem is that NO ONE takes them!! Has anyone had similar problems?? The company that puts it out is out of Birmingham. I called them and they said that the restaurants listed are not for the local ones but ones listed in the Roswell area....would appreciate hearing from anyone else who has had problems.

  19. I live close to the Cotton Gin and was considering going there tomorrow night. I can live with an 85 but a 45!!! No way am I going there, not tomorrow...never. It's one thing to have a temperature violation, occasional food spoilage but after checking out the website with their score they are lucky they don't wind up with law suits from people getting sick. It's really sad because I've eaten there for the past 13 years under several different owners (I believe 6 or 7 different ones) and have always enjoyed the ambiance. When will Paulding have that good ol' upscale country restaurant??
