  1. Lppt,

Yes I very much support local business here in Paulding and will do everything to help bring more and help existing business to grow and prosper.

The airport is here… that is a thing of the past. Did the people here vote it in? NO. We didn’t even have our basic infrastructure in place yet. We needed Water and roads and many other things before the airport. A well planned community is a successful community. None the less, the airport is here. At this point we have to try to get the horse back in front of the cart, figuratively speaking.

One of the many things the board of commissioners are involved in, are all the departments. This is what makes up our local government. I worked closely with all these departments for 13 years surveying and engineering. I helped some of the small town developers, I did the field work, I did the drafting, I did the plan and design, I did the court house work. When I turned in my plans, everything had to be done to the letter. Meanwhile, I watched the elitist walk right past me and get approved without even meeting the requirements. Yes, they went around the County employees and straight to our leaders. If you don’t believe me, talk to some of the residents that live in poorly built subdivisions. There is plenty…

I helped small time businesses get special use permits so they could open and run new business. I was trained to help them from start to finish, even representing them before the board of commissioners. I actually did the work for the commissioners to vote on. I’ve already been helping to bring business here.

I was involved when the county GIS were first learning GPS, and needed help. I worked with addressing, with the tax assessors. Probably the only department I am not familiar with is permitting.

Has my opponent done any of this? Does my opponent even know that the County GIS map we were currently given for Post 1 does not match the State Records?

How would I cut wasteful spending? One in particular that comes to mind would be some of these law suits against the County. The County incurred damages to someone’s property. The property owner sues for a settlement of something like $100,000 to compensate damages. The County has held this thing up in court so long, it has ended up costing the tax payers somewhere around 1.3 million dollars? Where is the logic there? Isn’t paying 100,000 for damages much cheaper than paying lawyers millions? Then in turn these lawyers pay huge campaign contributions to the commissioners that keep it going. Hum. Corruption at its best. I’m sure you know which case I’m referring to, but there are many like this one.

If anyone wants to talk to me, send me a pm and I will give you my phone number. :)

    Two questions.

    Crowe or Austin?

    Braddock or Morrison?

  2. Maybe someone can help me out with this but why are Bill Heath and Paulette Braddock not signing the pledge to limit lobbyist gifts to $100.00? What possibly could be the motivation for Heath and Braddock to not sign this pledge?

Heath and Braddock both get paid a salary from the citizens of the State of Georgia AND they get paid a per diem to cover their expenses during the legislative session.

Why won't Heath and Braddock sign the pledge to limit lobbyist gifts to $100.00?

    P. S. I placed a call to Bill Heath yesterday to inquire about this issue as well as the issue of his campaign sending out the "debt collection" letter last Friday which, by the way, scared the living daylights out of some of our elderly residents - Heath has yet to respond.

Do you realize how many $100 checks Paulette would need to pay off her debts? She is doing what anyone that has a heart for the environment would do. Look at all the trees she will save.

  3. The paulding County Citizens voted for a Fire Tax Levy, Green Space, most recently for a County SPLOST that will provide for new roads, sidewalks, fire sations parks etc. ( I believe this has passed four times) A $ 120 million dollar School Bond, In the past couple of years voted to extend the Education SPLOST (I believe this also has passed four times) A permanent one cent sales tax.

Fact is the only thing that was voted down was the airport and the community center and we still got the airport. Did I miss something?

We did vote down the School Bond once. Then outside money was brought in by Jerry Shearin to force it on us on the second double jeopardy vote. Paulette Braddock played a pert in that as well. Cost Shearin his job but he made his owners happy.......for a minute. ;)

  4. Its sad that all we do in Paulding is vote NO on everything. No matter what it is.. If its a Vote... Its a NO... We dont want improvement and we dont want business here. We dont want sewers and water to support business or business parks.. PC VOTES NO... Its simple... No new roads, No Toll Roads, No funding, No,No, NO!!!!!!! And then we Citizens wonder why the ones voted in RAM SHIOT DOWN OUR THROATS without a vote if its possible... I understand it LTTP and I know that you and I can see past our typical views a lot of time for the betterment of the community. But were few and far between

Yeah BOY! You and LPPT are way the hell smarter than all us dumbass hillbillies. Now you have belittled me to the point of where I am going to vote yes for this wonderful tax. Because if you and LPPT say it is a good thing, who am I to argue?

Just kidding. I AM STILL VOTING NO. But I get a kick out of people that talk down their noses to me.

  5. I read it. I know the difference too. Illegals cost the tax payers a fortune and legal immigrants usually don't. No defense for them and no excuse for them is good enough. Obama is not going to enforce the laws concerning them so trying to make the employers pay is not going to happen. Not even sure at this point how many of the state laws can really be enforced.

Do some research on the 1099 employee market. This is the Hispanic Slave Market. And I know at least one of the sub-contractors at the big project in Paulding uses these people. Can't say 100% for sure that they are on this job now, but I would be willing to bet they have been.

A good friend wrote an article about this. If I can find it I'll post it under a new thread and stop the hijacking of this one.

  6. I was responding to your comment "If we can control this 78%, I (feelip) wouldn't be all concerned with the other 22%."

To answer your question, those wanting a better life, willing to work and willing to do so without welfare, food stamps, and every other govt handout, are upon what this country was founded. I would encourage as many as we can welcome to enter legally and then I would demand our federal government either do it's JOB and enforce the guarding of our borders or get out of the way and allow the border states to do so. Instead the feds act like hypocrites turning a blind eye to the wide open border and then blaming everyone but themselves for the problem. If the powers that be were serious about getting rid of illegal Hispanics, they would fine the people who hire them. They would also do a much better job at closing the borders.

As to illegals taking all the jobs.....how many of your friends have jumped to work in the agriculture business? How about the manual labor jobs in construction? Oh, right....not enough pay. I had a friend paying $15/hr for construction work....no skills required. He hired five AMERICANS. They quit after the first FIVE HOURS. Said it was "too hard". Too many CITIZENS would rather sit at home and collect unemployment. Our demise will be our lazy, entitled selves and our enemies destroying us from within. We have far greater enemies than the Mexicans my friend. Feelip, I'm not addressing this for political reasons. I'm conservative, but I'm not going to follow the ultra party line.

I'm really sick of the party litmus test--for all parties. I'm looking for a statesman (or woman).

My point was that 78% of the illegal immigration problem could be controlled in two days. All it would take is our politicians passing laws that would put heavy fines on the employers that hire these people. Once we take care of the overwhelming 78%, the remaining 22% would be a piece of cake to deal with.

And while you seem to think "the Mexicans" are harmless, I beg to differ. Anyone that is taking 10 billion dollars out of our economy every year is far from harmless.

We do agree on the BS that the political parties are feeding us. I am as fed up with Paulette and Heath doing nothing as I am with Obama. We need to keep changing until we find one that can do the job. I think David Austin did what we paid him to do and that was keep the county operating within its means. He will get my vote again this time.

  7. Seriously??? Even though that 22% includes the very people who hate the U.S. and are determined to destroy us? The 22% includes those with money and backing who are here to infiltrate and spy??? And it's not just jihadists.....there are Chinese, Russians, Pakastanis, Iraqis, Iranians, Syrians, Somalis, etc., etc. quietly going about the business of our destruction...and you are more concerned about the Mexican who wants a job...and is willing to WORK? Shameful.

So in your world being willing to work makes illegal immigration okay? :nea:

Here ya go. You don't think this is hurting our country?

$60 billion dollars are earned by illegal aliens in the U.S. each year. One of Mexico's largest revenue streams (after exports and oil sales) consists of money sent home by legal immigrants and illegal aliens working in the U.S. Economists say this will help Mexico reduce its $17.8 billion defecit and may bolster the peso. $10 billion dollars (as of 2003) are sent back to Mexico annually, according to the Pew Hispanic Center, reported in an Associated Press article, up $800 million from the previous year. ($9 billion dollars were previously sent back annually, according to a September 25, 2002 NPR report). That figure equals what Mexico earns annually from tourism. This is a massive transfer of wealth from America - essentially from America's displaced working poor - to Mexico.

A May 28, 2004 study by Bendixen & Associates6 found that legal and illegal immigrants send a total of $30 billion to their home countries on an annual basis. Mexico receives $13.3 billion a year. The largest amount in remittances ($9.6 billion) is sent from California, followed by New York ($3.6 billion), Texas ($3.2 billion) and Florida ($2.5 billion). Of those surveyed by the study, 24% were Latin American-born U.S. citizens, 39% were legal residents, and 32% were illegal aliens. Sixty-one per cent of those surveyed send remittances overseas at least once a month. A typical remittance is between $150 and $250.

  8. While I know very few of you personally, and I will direct this response to no one in particular, I find it funny that when the conversation swerved off into the house's immigration bill, that many of you demand to call our illegal residents 'hispanics or Mexicans'....really? Just to think most of those posters believe all of our immigrants are from Mexico!! rotflm a$$ off!

And another post I read said, "but the other candidate will NOT come on HERE and answer questions"....hmmmmm, wonder why? There are approximately 20 of you goofballs that seem to spend all day posting nonsense...why would she; and yes, I support 'her'...those of you that get all of your information here on this 'board' better wise up and look elsewhere. Most of the forums here really amount to little more than entertainment to most of us. As far as the 2 opposing candidates, one is a blathering idiot and the other is a johnny-come-lately with bad vibes with this county. It really makes the decision quite easy.

Easy to see why you would be voting for Paulette. I find it hard to believe that there is anyone less intelligent, but every now and then a post like this comes along and reminds me that you're out there.

    Check this out...................

    from Wiki:

The illegal immigrant population of the United States in 2008 was estimated by the Center for Immigration Studies to be about 11 million people, down from 12.5 million people in 2007.[1] Other estimates range from 7 to 20 million.[2] According to a Pew Hispanic Center report, in 2005, 56% of illegal immigrants were from Mexico; 22% were from other Latin American countries, primarily from Central America;[3] 13% were from Asia; 6% were from Europe and Canada; and 3% were from Africa and the rest of the world.[3]

If my math is correct, 78% of the illegals are from Mexico or Latin America (by the way, these are Hispanics). If we can control this 78%, I really wouldn't be all that concerned with the other 22%.

  9. I'm sure many who own or are involved in the ownership or management of a business realize that many customers; especially those who are other businesses or doctors and lawyers often find those customers will pay rather slowly. When a business has a large amount of accounts receivables because their customers are very slow to pay, the business can find itself short the cash needed to pay its own bills.

From my understanding, Braddock's business is one of those where the customers are mostly other businesses. It's quite possible many of her customers have outstanding debts to her business that she's having a difficult time to collect. It's also possible that many of her customers that are businesses haven't paid her yet because they aren't doing so well either in this economy.

It's amazing how so many here are wanting to believe she hasn't paid her taxes or her bill to Xerox because she doesn't want to or believe she's just totally irresponsible. You guys are jumping to a conclusion without even having all the facts.

I started a company in 1985. All of my clients are businesses. Mostly major corporations. Mostly Fortune 500 companies. Getting a check within 45 days of invoice is fast and I have had some to take 180 days.

Now I did without a lot of things back in the start up days. You didn't see me riding around in a Mercedes. You still won't. My vendors were paid every week regardless.

Seems to me that some people have no idea of what being conservative actually is. But I can tell you for sure that owing that kind of money and sporting a Mercedes is ghetto rich, not conservative.

  10. idk, she was driving a pretty nice Mercedes when she stopped by my house last night asking for our vote.

Owes everyone from the IRS to Zerox and sporting a Mercedes. Haven't seen that since I finished my last project in the projects. They had a name for that down in the 'hood. :ninja:

  11. A Georgia driver's license cannot be issued to an illegal immigrant. Sense we are discussing HB87, why don't you just stick with the language and facts contained in it?

Requirements for non-US citizens to obtain a Georgia drivers license.

Just for the hell of it let's say a license was issued to a LEGAL immigrant that becomes illegal once his visa expires. Wouldn't we have an illegal immigrant with what appears to be a valid GA DL?
