  1. Actually, that RacTrac is on Wendy Bagwell Parkway...

You are correct. Not only on the location but also in the spelling of Wendy (not Windy).

278 is named Wendy Bagwell Parkway from the Cobb County line to Metromont Road. From there through Hiram it is Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway. Jimmy Lee Smith was the brother-in-law of the former mayor of Hiram, Dewey Pendley. Mr. Smith, if I remember correctly, was killed in a boating accident on Lake Weiss in Alabama.

Any Paulding County historians that can verify this?

By the way, Wendy Bagwell was a southern gospel music personality as well as a Christian comedian that is in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. His family still lives in Hiram. Matter of fact, they live in the path of the East Hiram Parkway. A lot of their property was used or ruined for the new road.

  2. I am wondering what is going in the old regions bank in hiram they have been working on it a lot,

    The one on 92?

It is some sort of community center I think. I saw the invitation to bid come through a long time ago. We don't work on projects that small (never get paid).

What I want to know is what idiot did the exterior color selections. Horrible colors on the outside.

  3. Me too!! Polk & Floyd County gets lots of my money these days.

What part about not telling the WHOLE truth is not a lie? No mom, I did not break that today!! hehehe (I broke it yesterday)

We're upset because for 30 years we've been told, "IT WILL BRING JOBS, GOOD PAYING JOBS", they lied then and they are lying now. Just like the airport wasn't going to cost us a DIME!! FAA money was building it and it would pay for itself!!

Now we're hearing, "We have to do something, it's costing the taxpayers a lot of money". It's here, why not inconvenience the West Side of the county like we did the East side. Who cares about those people. There aren't enough of them to really make a difference.............

It gets old, the GOB network is alive and well.

Who has read that lease with Silver Comet LLC? It would behoove you to read it.

Now I want to know where Propeller Investments has had a successful endeavor.

LPPT, you do realize we are still in a deep recession, there just aren't a whole bunch of people with the money to move businesses to Paulding County. And those passengers that will be landing here, where exactly are they going to go and HOW are they going to get there?

Same Sh*t Different Day. While those Good Ole Boys get richer and richer with more and more playgrounds at the taxpayer expense. Remember all those subdivisions Jerry and his crew approved voted him out of office. This is not the same Paulding County it was 10 years ago, people are fed up with the Good Ole Boys.

Like I said before, not one of you people on the west side bitched one time about the East Hiram Parkway. That was coming through MY backyard and was something that would make life better for YOU.

Hell, I might buy me an airplane. 8)

    Accoring to the AJC:

The project drew immediate criticism from Delta Air Lines CEO Richard Anderson, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"With the city of Atlanta and Mayor (Kasim) Reed, we will work together to oppose any investment in that facility," Anderson told the newspaper.

Delta has opposed the idea of a second commercial airport in metro Atlanta.

"Hartsfield-Jackson is the best, most important airport in the Southeast, if not in the United States," Anderson said. "And resources should not be dissipated for a facility that will take an enormous amount of cash and ultimately be an economic and community failure."

Kasheem can't let that honey pot for in the clique blacks in Atlanta be threatened by a bunch of hicks out in Paulding County. Hell, that right there should tell you all you need to know.

  5. I somewhat disagree with you. While I do not agree with everything that's been passed while David has been in office I have found him, his department heads and other commissioners to be accessible and open. I've had many good discussions where some I felt I was heard, some I felt I contributed to the item swaying, some I leaned on my position and all I felt I was received with respect. Never have I been ignored, never has a request to meet been denied or postponed.

Jerry Shearin never gave me the time of day or bat of an eye. I felt as a non-developer I was dirt in his eyes. Several request to meet were ignored. When I tried to open discussion in public I was ignored.

I have an opinion about politicians. When we find one that we all love and adore every hour of every day... We've just encountered the Anti-Christ face to face.

You hit the nail on the head. I think David would be the first to admit he is not perfect. Shearin was so damn haughty (for no apparent reason) that he wouldn't even tell you to go eff yourself. He was buddies with Mr. Money Bags and he was pretty sure his sheeze didn't stink.

  6. MOJO413, ok, you made a point, so I would like to point out that you and the taxpayers of Paulding just borrowed another $29 million for the Big Lake in Burnt Hickory. I would like to also let you know the possible total is between $86 and $100 million. So really the airport is a hiccup compared. So you will see this starting next year. I agree about the Courthouse, and you forgot about the Green Space that we are paying for....basically just keep on, and Shearin has not been around for awhile.

GOOD! Lets keep it that way.8)

  7. I love the California salad (not sure that is what it is called there) and their new Wedge Salad with French Onion Soup.

I ended up getting the Zaxby's House zalad with fried chicken. Was good but just did not hit the spot. Half of it is in the frig. I am impatiently waiting for them to return their Zenzation Zalad. One of my all time FAV salads!!!

    THANKS for all the suggestions!

That's a pretty good salad if you have them hold those nasty onion things.

  8. Women are already more powerful than men.

They have half the money and all the.......ummm...you know.

She was wanting to swap sex for laundry on GMA, so you must be onto something.

She would have to give up a lot more than doing laundry for me to have to listen to her non-stop mouth for that 30 seconds.

  9. Anyone else looking forward to reading Lean In and gaining the insights into advances we've made? She argues we still have a long way to go but, thank the gods, we're getting there!

    My link

I saw her on GMA this morning. GAWD! She is like listening to someone drag their fingernails on a chalkboard. If her book is as mundane as her GMA interview was I would never be able to finish it. Might make a good sleep aid.
