  1. FYI.... My husband was in the military for 21 years and worked as a Gunnery Sgt in a helicopter squadron. Helicopters were always referred to as planes. I guess it's just one of those military things.

Sorry. Didn't mean to change that topic. I prefer an ice cold Mr. Pibb first thing in the morning. YUM!

  2. right now I could use a shot of petron after trying to tell ppl a plane is not a helicopter...

  3. Oh no! :(

Two more great kids from EP? That makes 4 this year alone doesn't it? So sad... :(

I'm beginning to believe East Paulding is cursed...

    :( Prayer said...

That's not really nice to say about being cursed. There are so many people on here with kid's that go to East Paulding, including myself, it doesn't make us parent's feel any better. My daughter is sitting here on the phone with her friend and they are both crying their eye's out. May God be with both of these families in this time of need.

  4. cr4ckh34d is what showed up on the caller id.

Never seen anything like that before.

Reading between the lines, it looks like "cr4ckh34d" is "crackhead". I guess they would have to be one to call you in the middle of the night like that and play that music.

  5. They told a few weeks ago, she had married over a year ago, but didn't change her name to Pearson on WSB until now.

That might be because her husband is a Higher Ranking Officer for one of the police dept's that has been in the news quite a bit in the last year and she was afraid to change her name while all of the controversy was going on.

  6. You forgot to tell us we would need a box of tissue when we opened this. Thank you for the video. My husband has been retired now from the Marines for 5 years. Every time I see something like this or when the guy's come back from a deployment on the news it reminds me of how good I felt when my husband would get off that plane and walk into my arms. Prayers said for every man and woman in the military! God Bless You All!

  7. I have been coughing for about 2 months now. I have been to the doctor twice. The first time they said that it was a virus and the second time they said that it was bronchitis. I am still coughing and I have taken a round of amoxicillin and cough medicine. I really do not want to go back because they are just taking my money and not helping. Has anyone else had this? Does it go away?

    jdar,

You might think this is really crazy....have your doctor check you for acid reflux. I had a cough so bad when I was pregnant that the dr. thought I had bronchitis. It turned out to be heartburn/acid reflux. Dr. prescribed "Tessalon Pearls". They look like little gold bath oil pearls (but it is for the cough) and they worked wonders! I still use them to this day whenever I start coughing. Hope this information works for you.

  8. My four year old has complained of a head ache for the last couple of day. It is not constant but she has been irritable. Today she was VERY whiney and moody. She complained of her head hurting and her stomach hurting. She did vomit two times with in an hour but has not done is since then. She is still complaining of her head hurting and her stomach as well. Her fever is about 102 each time I take it but I cannot give her Motrin because she has not eaten anything. I do not think that it is the stomach virus or she would have thrown up more.

She recently (anout a month ago) had Mono. Could this be the cause or is there something else?

There is a stomach virus going around that causes vomiting and/or diarrhea. My husband has had it for about 3 days now and my 7 year old neighbor had it several days this past week. Just give her lot's of popsicle's and clear liquid's. Dr. recommended the "BRAT" diet (banana's, rice, and toast). Hope this info helps.

Hi, is there a website to go on to see some of the products?

  10. The Paulding County Civitan Club is doing a fundraiser with Paula Deen! Please PM or email me if you would like to buy a low country culinary kit! They would make a great Christmas present or a wonderful present for yourself! They retail for $40 and we are selling them for $29.95. Ten dollars from each kit stays in Paulding County with our club and we then pass that money on to local charities that benefit mentally and physically handicapped adults and children.

    Kit Includes:

garlic, onion, starsle soy, salt and pepper.

Excellent rub for ribs and chicken as well as a

mix for cooking greens. So good !

    Thank you!

You said the fundraiser is with Paula Deen. Is she actually going to be there?

  11. This is something I really need to know. My hubby and I have a disagreement about whether or not there was ever a carousel at the park. One of us says there was and the other insists that there never was.

Can I get a concensus here? I really need to know - because I'm correct on this one and HE'S DEAD WRONG!!!

Thanks in advance for your input. I've tried to find the history of the park, but I need to go back as far as the early 60's so unless you're older and went there as a kid, you won't remember.

I'm sure everyone else has posted on this. There was a carousel at Grant Park. I grew up in northwest Atlanta and the zoo was a frequent thing for us. The carousel was alway's my favorite. Congratulation's to whoever won that debate. :)

  12. My hubby was out in the back yard with the kids just a little while ago and look what they found. The kids were sooooo excited they got to "pet" it.

We found one too! On our trampoline! My 7 year old and his friend wanted to get wet while they jumped on the trampoline so I told them it was ok to get the hose and spray it down. Well....when they turned the water on out slithered a little baby snake. The boy's thought it was just great and I'm standing there jumping like a mad woman for them to get off the trampoline. My husband captured it and threw it in the creek behind our house. It looked just like the one in your pictures. What kind of snake is that?

  13. I tried comcast for a second time too awhile back. Never again. I went back to my dish. Too expensive, and they never could get my computer to work right. They came out four times to work on it, and finally, I carried my modem up there and told them to keep it!!! Then I got fed up with the T.V. service, and took the boxes up too. So I am happy ditching the cable!!

I know how you feel! 5 visits, 4 technicians and over $400.00 later, we finally got our cable/internet/phone package working this past friday. They have been working on it since July 6. I threatened to cancel the whole deal and they (stupidly...on my part) talked me into keeping the service. If the bill doesn't get reduced they can come back and get their equipment! If there is anyone on here that works for COMCAST pleeeeaaaassssseeeee give me a name of someone in a supervisory position to help me. Thanks.

  14. My son just called me and his friend Adam Brown who is a senior at EPHS flipped over on a 4 wheeler and cut his jugular. He was life flighted to Grady. My son said he didn't think he would make it. Please pray for him and his family.

My son also is a friend of Adam's. My prayer's are being said. I know exactly what Adam's mom is going thru right now. My son also was in a terrible 4 wheeler accident 5 weeks ago at Seven Hills Pkwy. He has a broken collar bone and thank god it wasn't any worse than that. Those 4 wheelers are soooo dangerous! After Adam's accident my son has finally conceded to the fact that he is not riding another 4 wheeler. Prayer's to you Adam and your family.

  15. It never made sense to me until now that I have a child of my own, but right after my grandfather passed away, I went out with a friend and was late for curfew (the only time I was ever late). My mom was so freaked out when I got home and I saw it in her body language when we pulled into the drive. I was scared to say the least. I understand now the constant fear that a mother endures and my little one is never far from my reach, so I can only imagine how it feels to know that they are responsible for their lives. I'm so glad to hear that he called.

Your whole life changes when you become a MOM. I think every chair I own is worn out from sitting on the edge of them. My oldest is 17, then 15, and then 6! We (as MOM's) all have a way to go before we can relax whenever they leave the house. I don't care how old they get though, I will still worry about them!:)
