Our swim team monthly "dues" is only about what your increase is. Ours averages less than 30.00 a month for practice that is available 5 days a week. You come as you can. The cost is 200.00 total for Jan. - July. 25.00 more if you wait until April to join. Other cost is Swimsuit (35.00 girls) goggles, cap. Swim event fees at meets run 2.50-5.00per event they swim in. That is a more realistic fee for families that want kids active and are on a budget. Check it out if you are looking for one that lowered the cost this year with the economy instead of raising fees. It is a good alternative i

We still have openings for our day camp. The kids have fun and go home tired and ready to return the next day. They ride horses, swim daily, go on hikes, play games and learn about the animals around a farm. It is a good summer. The cost isn't bad either. A parent can afford this even if they are at home and just want to give the child a week of activity. It is 125.00 each week the first 2 weeks then 100.00 per week. Deal offered - get a friend and come the same week and it is just 100.00 each the first week. That is 50.00 saved. You must let us know you saw this and tell us the othe

I have new classes that start this Monday, July 6 - Thursday July 16. I have several spaces for ages 4 -13 years. They are in classes with their own ages. The classes are 45 minutes long and the 8 classes cost 75.00 total. The next group is July 20-30. This is a great way to fight the heat and boredom of kids during the summer. Please call today or tomorrow for these classes. 770.443.1187 Thanks, Cheryl Rountree 770.443.1187 Share your experiences,

Opinions about a local summer day camp
Rountree Recreation replied to red1ss's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thank you everyone. The kind remarks are good to hear. It was a long day. Brad, another camp worker, said he really enjoyed playing with the kids. I watched as they did foam sword battles followed by a water balloon fight in the hot June day. It was proceeded by horse back riding and pool play. The activity level WAS what I expect to see if the kids can hold up. I felt it was a fun day.The kids also seemed to love it. We will put some pictures on the web site tomorrow. Parents, please share comments from the kids of Richard, Brad and Taylor. Thanks again, Cheryl -
Got notice of property value change today
Rountree Recreation replied to dallas nana's topic in RECENT TOPICS
As you are pointing out. The cost of running a county is still the same or more - more new schools, police to care for the influx of new people and the extra cost of all the growth. They may have reduced your property value but what it cost to run a county still has to be collected. The mil rates are going to have to increase as it did last year to make up the difference. Wait until you get your bills --- this is not it.-- You don't want to know what we pay in taxes. I would like to see more places for recreation in our county and would not mind paying for it. It does cost money and I wou -
Opinions about a local summer day camp
Rountree Recreation replied to red1ss's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Hi, This is Cheryl Rountree, Owner of Rountree Recreation. The Change of staff was regrettable, but the direction the previous directors were taking the program was not what we wanted for the children. Unfortunately due to their circumstances, to loose the staff director meant to loose all staff (her children). This decision was hard to make, however we feel that the new staff will be better suited to supervise and entertain your children. We would love to see your son again at our camp. The purpose of our camp is to let your kids socialize while playing various sports and activities in -
Keeping friendships during the summer
Rountree Recreation replied to Rountree Recreation's topic in Business NEWS
Any comments? ----- could remembering the person you love help your marriage???? Any other ideas??? -
I wonder how many marriages end during the summer? A parent is still trying to work and tend to kids. A stay-at-home parent no longer has ANY time to herself (or himself). You feel like your spouse does not care that you NEED some time whether you are on either end of taking care of the kids or are the working spouse that wants some time with the person with whom they are married. You went on "vacation" and now your work load has doubled and you are tired and no longer feel refreshed. Think back - and respond if that may have started your down fall. Now, would a week break during th

Rountree Recreation 2nd Open House
Rountree Recreation replied to linda4dale's topic in Business NEWS
Linda will be here today after about 3:00 pm Sunday if you would like to meet her. This is not just for those that want all summer, but for those that what a week or 2 break from the kids "I'm bored and nothing to do". IT makes you look like a great MOM or DAD and you do not spend a lot of money. Sometimes it is worth your sanity to have a break and let the kids get worn out tired by someone else that has a plan. Pass this to DAD's or Grand parents as a great gift to give the person who is watching the kids all summer --- or your best friend and take them to a quite lunch. It ma -

Hi Kimberly dose the horses. Her number is 404.457.9529 The dates I have in the book for horse camp is June 8- 12, June 15- 19, June 22- 26 and she has an interest in horse camp for July where we are writing request and if there is the interest, she will do it. You can call her for more information. Please share this with others that might be interested. Thanks, Cheryl

Hi, Kimberly is the one in charge of horse camp. For 1 child the cost is 200.00 per week. If the child is with day camp and this is their 3rd week or they take riding lessons- the 25.00 reduction is in play- it is 175.00. for the week. There is care with the day camp at no additional cost before and after the horses - before 9 am and after 4pm. This makes it ideal for the working parent or grandparent that wants to give the child something extra for the summer. ( up to 6 kids per week in horse camp) Please call Kimberly Whitehead with questions on horse camp or riding lessons at

no problem. Because Cobb gets out 2 weeks earlier than Paulding and Doug. for the kids that get out early-- Cobb kids, tots and home schoolers they can take advantage of it. Please call if possible -- I don't open it for just 1 or 2 families - - Call friends so their is a group -- it is also more fun.

hi, Open swim is normally from 1-3 during the Summer - Mon- Thursday. The kids that take lessons are welcome first. My pool limit is 50 kids-I do sometimes cut it off earlier depending on age and ability of swimmers. PARENTS MUST stay in the pool area and watch their children and supervise them. I would like to remind those that use my place that I am not tax supported and I don't have maid service, Please clean up after your kids. Please bring your own goggles if your child likes to wear them, at 9.00 a pair for nice ones that adds up when I replace the broken ones from ruff handling. I d
