Do trucker's drink Starbucks? I always picture them as WaHo coffee drinking folks. Can you picture typical trucker ordering an Iced Nonfat Peppermint Mocha to go?
Yeah, I could use a caffeine burst right about now...

I still haven't figured out where all those Nebo Roads go... I swear I have seen 5 different roads with "Nebo" in the name!
Nebo....The "Peachtree" of Paulding....
If it's open for 24 hours, do they think the truckers from hwy 92 will stop? Just wondering...I have had to be up driving in around 1:00-2:00 am in that area and there's usually nobody else there! Maybe the thinking is : If I build it, they will come....

Does your daughter have her laptop with her? If so, Skype is great! You can talk for @$.02 per minute. My daughter is also in Europe this summer-what is up with all these chirrun going overseas??? Skype has been great! You do have to plan when you're going to talk since it's using the internet.

I've thought if I had a goat around, maybe we wouldn't have to mow our grass so often..Then again, we might not have any grass to mow!!

Based on some of the vandalism that has occurred recently, I believe there must be some parents who think their "lil darlin's" are entitled to do as they please: damage pool property, drive their car onto the golf course and their neighbor's yards....perhaps one of these lovelies was our bandit??
I have no inside information; JMO

How tragic!
I liked to watch "Meet the Press" with Tim Russert. He was extremely intelligent, but seemed to have a lot of common sense as well.
I just heard that he suffered a pulmonary embolism.

This was sent to me in an email from one of my very good friends. Please be cautious!
FYI... The Cedarcrest Pool was closed today (meaning yesterday) due to beer bottles and desruction with splintered glass all around and in the pool. The same day the Community Trust Bank was robbed during daylight while parents and kids were in the area. Please report any susupicious behavior to the police to help protect our community and loved ones. THANKS!
The Bank in Bentwater was robbed this morning at 10:15. The suspect was reported to have left with $4000.
A child came face to face with the suspect in the Activity Center parking lot. A parent sent their child to the car to retrieve something, at that time the suspect was crossing through the parking lot.
Thankfully, this situation did not turn out bad.
Please keep an eye on your children at all times.
Sometimes we take for granted the area we live in to be safe, anything can happen.
Like I said, this was sent to me in an email so I was just giving what information I received to you all who may live out this way-
Kind've makes you wonder if the "bandit" was perhaps a Bentwater resident??? We've had some weird things happen up this way, too, folks!!

Are you reading "John Adams" by David McCullough? I just bought the book. I watched the series and loved it; now, I want to read the book!

It's pretty windy, thundering, lightning, hailing, the works! From the map on the Weather Channel, it looked as though the whole cell is moving straight up from Douglas through Paulding to Bartow. There was an awful large red area-didn't see any purple, though.

I'm reading Six Wives: The Queens of Henry VIII by David Starkey. It's really great. Lots of good historical information. Non Fiction.
For those that haven't read it yet or anything by Joshilyn Jackson, The Girl Who Stopped Swimming is awesome! Also her other two books - gods in alabama and Between, Georgia - are good Southern gothic literature. Joshilyn lives in Powder Springs and is an amazing person and author.
I have heard of Joshilyn Jackson; those books sound interesting! Would Books a Million carry them?

This is the place to find the best local restaurants, local news, local events, anything you want to know.
If I happen to get behind an accident or hear of anything happening, I go home and look it up on pcom. Usually, I find out what's going on!
Welcome!

I don't want to sound mean spirited, but we all know there are those who will take whatever plays at our heartstrings and try to get us to give them money. That's how they make their living. I would put gas in their tank before handing cash to them; if there weren't gas tanks close by, then too bad...JMO
I have been known to take lunch to people who wanted money for food. I don't give money to anyone collecting unless I know the so-called "charity". Sad, but it's just very hard to trust a lot of people these days...

24-Hour Starbucks in Dallas
in Internet Cafe
Posted
I think there is a Waffle House around-it may be on Mars Hill Road, a little further over. But this is at the intersection of 92 and 92/381. If you were on the way to 75 from Dallas or Hiram, this is the way you would travel, I think..
Actually, though there's not a place for trucks to park there. I was just wondering who the Starbucks folks thought would buy coffee 24 hours a day in this locale...my son will, I know, but he's just one person!
