God, tell me about it LR. I went to bed so pissed off & woke the same way. The idots finally called ne back last night at 7:30 . it was a woman & I could not understand a word she said, & told her so, she HUNG uo on me. Another (man) called me right back. I could barely understand him. we worked for ove two hours , he got in to my computer & laptop & we were making progress, we got "disconnected". someone called me back after 5 min & I didn't understand him, he HUNG up, But I saw that they were still in my computer (laptop hooked directly to my modem) so I cal

I tried a different port. I am thinking that too now. And would that be why my laptop is slow & acting crazy? I still don't understand how I am on the internet on this wireless if the router is bad. Also, I unplugged everything again and put in the Belkin CD & plugged everything back in order that the Cd said to. I clicked on the setupl & this is what it told me. The setup assistant was not able to connect to a router via any of the Network adapters on this computer and also not able after you checked your hardware connection. Call Belkin. I have tried all that. When modem plugged into Desktop, I had internet. when modem plugged into Laptop I had internet. But when modem plugged into router and desktop , No internet on desktop BUT did have a connection on laptop (wireless) However, I just now decided to put the Belkin CD in & read the manual. The picture showed all the lights that suppose to be green. I wasn't seeing this before, but the modem light wasn't green except right at 1st when cord was plugged in, then nothing. I called the Tech's again & they said they had hi call volume & would call me back ! (&

I done all the above sugestions. plugged the eithernet from modem into the desk top & I got internet. (temperarly disabled my laptop) I ran a scan while I had it up. plugged back like it was and lost internet on desk top. Also plugged straight into laptop the other day as directed by tech

The desktop is wired connection. the laptop (which does have internet connection) is wireless.

That's what mine is doing. All lights are on & green. The techs had me check the cords. And if it was my router, how come I CAN get internet on the laptop? BTW, none of the above things worked guys, but thanks for the info.

No, there was no lightening or anything this time , just got up one morning (May 1st) & it wouldn't get the internet. (the desktop , not the lap)

one thing that confuses me is, if I am having router problems, how come my laptop picks up the internet , but the desktop don't, & it is hooked up to it.

would I go to control panel, & add or remove programs & uninstall Belkin & reinstall with Disc? Worth a try. I hate talking to those foreigners, & you would think after 3 hours they would figure it out. Thanks

Thanks Blondie. I tried that & it didn't work. Sound Guy, the "techs" had me do all that yesterday as they walked me thru it. It did say at (every time we done that , (abt 50 times) Request timed out But they were like "hhmmm" like scratching their heads. lol I talked to two different guys. (hard to understand them BTW) I did check on both laptop & desk top & the IP address is same except for ast number and the Gateway # was same. I swear, I just hung up on that last call. TWO hours I was on hold & listening to their music. Thank ya'll.

Ok, all of a sudden, no storms, lightening, electrical outage, etc, (my usual problems) My desk top won't go online. The bottom right icon says I am connected, but when I go to my homepage or P.COM, etc, I get this; Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage. My modem & the router all have green lights. (one on the router is blinking a little) the one that says "wired". But in the other room my laptop is connected to internet . I called ATT yesterday & was on phone for over an hour. They then told me there wasn't anything wrong with their modem to call B

I hate that people are getting so lazy or yet so fast paced in life they can't type words instead of letters. sometimes I have no clue! To me this is SAD .that we just can't spell it out.
