  1. I just want to give a great big THANK YOU to Vito's. My wife and I were actually visiting the music store next door and decided to grab a bite. The food was great and when I asked for the check I got a real suprise; my meal was free for Fathers day. Thanks again and we will be back soon. :D

  2. The Dairy Queen was where the old Greystone building was that is now another

credit union. The old store Riteway across the road was Denton's and that was the

place to hang out on the weekends. Drove from dq to Tasty Freeze and lets not forget

the swimming pool to many times. TBird and I were best friends in school and still are.

I'm really glad those roads to and from can't talk.

Does anyone remember when the Asian family bought the Tastee Freeze; you could get eggrolls and ice cream...no really. I'm not sure it it was renamed "The Tasty Wok" but thats what we called it. Class of 84.

  3. http://www.tmz.com/2009/06/10/carrie-prejean-fired/

UPDATE: We learned Carrie just received her letter of termination. She is officially out.

We've learned "biblically correct" Carrie Prejean will lose her Miss California USA crown today because she doesn't play well with others.

Sources connected with the pageant tell us even Donald Trump has now had it with Carrie, because she's violating her contract by not getting clearance to do her extracurricular stuff.

We're also told Carrie has been a no-show for appearances she was supposed to make for the pageant organization.

The firing, we're told, is strictly based on Carrie breaching her contract. It's not based on her political and moral views.

Carrie is getting her walking papers this afternoon.

The new Miss California USA will be Miss Malibu Tami Farrell.

    Palin - Prejean 2012

  4. In the last few years my wife and I have decided its not a vacation unless you get on a plane to somewhere, anywhere.

Now a week end "getaway" is another story; Mountains, Coastal Towns (Savanah, Charleston).

    • I'll drive and we leave to go "whenever" and we get home "whenever".
    • My wife could care less about shopping on Vaca.(Lucky Me). She does plenty at home.(Her office is near Towne Center Mall)
    • We take friends and family, depending on the destination.
    • No schedule other than getting up early for breakfast at a local dive.
    • Never ever cook while on Vaca or Getaway.
  5. When I was in High School (1982-1986) we had a baseball player play with the Braves. I cant remember what his name was, Johnny Shirley keeps coming to mind but I know it wasnt Johnny......

That would be Johnny Cash....no really, his name is Johnny Cash. He played for one or more of the Braves farm teams.

  6. Is this Jerky boss of your hubby the OWNER of the company? If not, then certainly there must be a human resources director working there. in a company of size, a supervisor or manager can get fired or at least reprimanded for creating a hostile work environment. that is a form of harassment IMO.

I hope everything works out ok- I hate to see bad things happen to good people ;)

Human Resource Director? Your kidding right? Thats not near as common as you might believe. especially with "Mom & Pop" companies.

  7. I love pits and own a few. I wouldn't jump to shooting the animal, but you do have the right to protect yourself and your family if a dog gets aggressive with you.

I agree, thats why I used "Agressively". There are a couple of small pits that pass my house about once a month, it seems. If I'm outside they both will run straight at me; tongues and tails wagging. I'll pet on and talk to both for a minute or two, and then their off again. I couldnt tell you who's they are, where they come from or where they are going.

Set your car alarm off in the middle of the night. When the neighbor with the dog complains? Blame it on the dogs barking. :p

  8. Brace yourself. The "Pit Lovers" are preparing to pounce on this topic any second now.

Personally, if the dog was in my yard, coming toward me or mine in an aggressive posture; I'd shoot it.

Now, if its just looking for someone to give'em a pat on the head, thats a different story. ;)

  9. The President is having a press conference on this.

Many of the experts have stated GM should have been allowed to work through it themselves without interference from the government. It is the way the country has always been run.

If my memory serves me correct; the car manufacturers went to the hill looking for a handout. I also agree there should have never been a bailout. Capitalism should have been allowed to work in this instance.

  10. My daughter and her boyfriend are going tonight.

It's a fun and Cheap (free) date! It would be awesome to have similar things at our

square....but we're still a bit like the adults in Footloose in the big city of Dallas.

Beleive it or not; when I first moved out here, there was a crazy law on the books in regard to recorded music and dancing taking place in a business establishment. I dont remember the details, but "Foot Loose" does come to mind.

  11. 97.1 "The River" is sponsoring "WingFest" tomorrow (Saturday) night on the square in Marietta...4 cover bands, one of which I have seen, called "Frontiers", a Journey cover band that actually are pretty good...We enjoyed them last year in Kennesaw..

Went last year,..great fun...great food...great mix of people....will be there tomorrow. Look for me in a faded red "HotRod" B) visor.

  12. Actually all of the cars in NASCAR are assembled in the US as none of them are stock cars, they are all a templete with a logo on the bumper.

Read my previous post slowly this time...Represented... ;)
