  1. I have watched the show since the first episode and it is a pretty good show to get into. I have to agree that the OC is a whole lot better but its not coming back on until November, so the North Shore will do until then.

Another good show to watch is Hawaii, it comes on Weds. nights at 8:00 pm on 11 Alive. It is another cop/detective show but it is actually good.

  2. I am not sure if I am putting this in the right category or not but I was wondering if anyone knows about the group of Girl Scouts that meet on Thursday nights at the New Ga. Baptist Church. I am trying to get in touch with their leader and I have been told her name is Diane Pennington. My daughter is wanting to join and the Girl Scouts are having a meeting at McGarity tomorrow but I am not sure if this is the same group of girls or not and I would really like to sign her up with the group at the church as that is where my nephew will have is meetings with the Cub Scouts. If anyone can give any info, I would appreciate it very much!

Thanks in advance for any information that you give!

  3. Ms. McGarity is not a crazy lady or the bag lady of Paulding County. I used to work for Regions Bank in front of Kmart and she would come in there all of the time and have a conversation with us. She wants people to think she is mentally challenged so people will not bother her but she is an extremely friendly and smart lady. I do not know how she was before the accident that happened in front of Western Sizzler but the old chief of police in Hiram told us that she had lost a son in a traffic accident(not in Paulding) years before her sister was killed in front of Western Sizzler.

  4. Emily Erwin,

Are you talking about Ms. Jessie McGarity? She is the lady you see standing on the side of the road telling everyone to slow down. A lot of people think that Ms. McGarity is crazy or senile, but she is very intelligent and extremely friendly. Everytime I talk to her it always Hey baby or Hey sweetie how's everything? Ms. McGarity just wants people to slow down and drive sensible as she has lost family members due to traffic accidents.

  5. Ken Ball and copperhead03,

Thank you for answering my question about when Ken will take office. Wish it could be sooner than Jan. 05 though, we needed you a long time ago. Ken, I am sure that you will get more than one vote in November :) and I am so glad that some of the older residents of Paulding County have decided to go with the right candidate for Sheriff. You can count on at least 4 votes from my family. My husband, his parents, and myself are all voting for you on July 20! I am talking with my parents to get them to go vote also. If there is anything I can do to help, please let us know. My in-laws already have one of your signs up in their front yard that I got from Eddie Bennett even though we live on 15 acres at the end of a dead end road, but if just one person sees it and it makes them go vote it is doing its job. Good luck!

  6. The bank that was robbed was Hometown Bank on Highway 278 next to Crowe Cars in Hiram. The person/people got away in a green Ford Explorer and a salesperson from Crowe Cars followed them but lost them somewhere in the area of Popular Springs Road ( I think). This info comes from listening to the scanner, I use to be a dispatcher so I understand a lot of the codes that they use and from a post the RRR put on here. Cobb Co. thought they caught the people because when they pulled them over the occupants ran, but it turned out it was not them after all. You might be able to find RRR's post, I think it was titled 10-17 just occured or Armed Robbery just occured. Just type one of those in the search and it might pull it up. Hope that helps. Welcome to P.com!! :)

  7. This is my first year voting and know that our county needs new leaders like Ken Ball to make our county a safer place to live. But seeing how it is my first year voting, I do not how all of this voting works so hopefully ya'll can help me. When Ken Ball wins the election for Sheriff, will he take office right away or will there be a waiting period before he takes over?

I kept up with a topic that was on here a while back titled Disturbing Debates and have a few questions about some posts that were posted on there. One post said that the reason Larry Ragsdale won last time is because people got him confused with the Larry Ragsdale that is the Assistant Superintendent of schools, well I thought he was, is he not? Another question is what or where is Post 1 district and do you have to live in this area to vote in the Post 1 district race?

I have lived in Paulding for 26 years, my whole life, and know that this county needs leaders that are dedicated to the citizens and our county, but I also feel that the race for Sheriff is going to be a tight race because you are going to have the "Old Paulding" voting for the people they know not on the issues. So my question is how do we get the newcomers to start voting to help make this county a better and safer place to live. I have 2 children and 1 on the way and would love to see leaders that want our county to be safer for us and our children, not a leader that just wants a job.

Any info anyone could give would be helpful and I will thank everyone in advance for the information you are able to give me. Thank you!

  8. I just drove by the Plaza and on their sign says " closed, thanks for 27 years." I have been going to the Plaza forever and will miss it very much. I am going to hate driving to Douglasville and paying outrageous prizes to see a 2 hour movie. If anyone gets the address for Tom and his family, please let me know as I would like to send a thank you card also. I will never forget the times that I had at the movies or the times that my parents thought I was at the Plaza  , but had actually cut through the woods(before the road was put in that led to Ingles) to get to Wal-mart and Wendys.

  9. Cardie39,

You made the reply to jp184 about Harmon's Rest., but it was actually me that made that post, I was just at jp184's house when I made the post. I sent you a personal message with more information, but it was my mom and aunts that worked there with their parents. I called my mom last night to get all the information on the rest., so I could make the post. Let me know if you know my mom or one of my aunts because my mom is now interested in this topic. :)

  10. Does anyone know if the debates will air on any satellite systems? I have Direct Tv and did not know if I got the public access channel, but I do have all local channels that are offered to me. I would really like to see the debates as this is my first year ever voting and other than voting for Ken Ball b/c the "ole boy system" needs to go and Ball is the best candidate to make this county safer for our children and us, I do not know who I am going to be voting for and would like to see where all other candidates in the races stand on issues. Or if anyone can tell me where to go on P.com to find out where the candidates stand.

Thanks for any help ya'll can offer. :)
