    I am so very sorry about your cousin and he will be in my thoughts and prayers. How old is he?

     

    He is 62. Thank you for the prayers.

     

    Wow! What an awesome man to do this for his family before his passing. You are right. That would be a very sobering phone call. As we sit and plan our life, he is planning the end of his.

     

    Exactly! It really puts life in perspective.

    My second cousin called today to tell us that he had brain cancer and that he was "going home". He said the doctor's told him that he is in his final days. It was a huge shock. He was going today to get everything ready at the graveyard. He was going to the furneral home to plan his funeral, too. I know that is a great idea, but to hear him say it really shook me. I know it will make things easier for his family and I really admire him for that.

     

    I am not so sure I could be so brave about planning my own funeral!

    Anyone go to Georgia Highlands University?

    Congratulations!!!! I just graduated from the nursing program at The University of West Georgia in May. I LOVED going to college as an adult. I truly appreciated the education I received. Good luck!!!!!!!

     

     

     

     

    I'm in the nursing program at GH and will be graduating in May. It's a fantastic program and I would recommend it to anyone. I am a GH/Wellstar scholarship student, which means that Wellstar paid my way (books, tuition, uniforms) and I signed a contract to work for 3 years at a Wellstar facility after graduation. It's a new program...and all GH nursing students have that option...they accept 25 students/year and you attend class at Southern Poly in Marietta. The clinical rotations are at Wellstar hospitals. The GH school of nursing program is located in Rome and they accept around 100 each semester (I think). If you need anything just let me know! Good Luck!
