  1. Hey folks I have a serious question that hopefully ya'll can help me out with. Here it is:

My wife and I are remodeling a farm house out in the country and we plan on moving into it this Spring. The house is located in an area that is not serviced by either cable (I currently have Comcast cable computer access and have loved it) or DSL. I have to have high speed wireless for work. I think Verizon and ATT both have wireless access cards that would probably work and they both service the area I will be living in. Are those my only two options? Do any of you use either of those? If so, what is your opinion? How well do they work? How much slower and less reliable are these types of wireless cards for downloading videos, music and other files when compared to cable or DSL? Do I have any other options? What would you do for high speed internet access if you were me?

  2. I need to find someone who can do some minor alterations of clothes (i.e. hemming pants, putting collar tabs in dress shirt collars etc.) The lady I had used for a long time now has cancer and is unable to do it anymore. If you know of anyone who does this well and for a reasonable price, please either post here or send me a private message and let me know. Thanks.

  3. Eva Braun thought gassing Jews wasn't in Hitler's repertoire. I never give too much creedence to the neighbor of Dahmer or Son of Sam. They always say "He was such a nice boy. Quiet - didn't say much. Never a lick of trouble. Carried my groceries for me on Sunday".

I have known her and her family very closely for 25 years. Using an analogy comparing her and Hitler, Dahmer or Son of Sam is a bit over the top and unfair on this one. She is a good girl. And if the jurors are on here reading this, then I guess we clearly know who is committing a crime since the judge was extremely clear in forbidding that from happening.

  4. I want to be very clear upfront that I feel terribly for the child involved in this case as well as for his parents and other family members. This is just an awful situation for that entire family and my prayers have been with them since this whole thing began back in 2003.

With that being said, I have known the defendant since she was a very young girl. Her mother kept my son when he was a baby. The defendant was raised in a child care and child friendly environment and I can honestly say that I would have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in leaving my child in her care at this very moment. She is simply not a person who would do something like this. I have known her well for 25 years and it is simply NOT in her character to do anything that would cause harm to a child. The fact that the courtroom has been completely packed with people who love and support her innocence should speak volumes about her character and reputation in the community.

Having sat in the courtroom for the vast majority of this trial, here is what I have observed while trying to be as impartial as I can possibly be. There are clear indications from the testimony of experts that shows that there were at least SOME health problems with the baby well before the defendant ever began keeping the child. There were no marks on the child when he was taken to the hospital. There were numerous other things discussed that I will not go into on this forum. Did the child have an existing injury that finally manifested itself fully when he was in the defendant's care? Did the defendant actually do what she is accused of doing? Did someone else who had custody of the child around that time do something wrong to the child? Was the dfendant simply a victim of being in the wrong situation at the wrong time? I honestly cannot see how the jury could convict her because there is more than enough reason to have a large amount of reasonable doubt. There simply is NO SMOKING GUN in this case that clearly ties a CRIME to the defendant. If I was on the jury, I could not justify sending an innocent woman to prison unless I was absolutely certain that she did it. That simply is not the case here. Again, there is no smoking gun that directly ties the defendant to this incident any more than it would tie several other people who had the baby in their custody to it.

A jury should not convict unless they are certain of guilt. Looking at this trial as fairly and objectively as I can look at it as a first hand observer, I simply cannot see how a juror could NOT have a large amount of reasonable doubt.

With all this being said, we need to be praying for everyone on all sides of the issue. Regardless of how it happened or even WHAT happened, there is a baby who has lost his health, parents who will never see their baby grow up and lead a normal life, and a defendant and her family who, in my honest opinion, have lived through a hell not of their own making for the past 4 years and who now faces a long prison sentence for what I truly believe is no fault of her own.

  5. There are two large seperate parties going on in Lancaster subdivision off of Dallas Nebo Rd and unfortunately they both are occurring on the same street in the subdivision. Lots of cars, people walking around, loud voices echoing up and down the street. The sheriffs have been out at least twice. Has anyone heard what they are saying about this on the scanner?

  6. I work for a large pharmaceutical company and due to a rep getting transferred back to his hometown, we will very likely have an opening in the very near future. The person who is hired will be working with me and two other people in the West Georgia area. Honesty compels me to tell you upfront that my company will pay me a referral fee if someone I recommend is ultimately hired. However, my bigger reason for making this known is that I want someone compatible on my team who will work hard and have a good time doing it. Everybody wants to like their teammates and co-workers.

Here are the basic requirements to receive serious consideration:

    • 4 year college degree preferably, but not necessarily, in business, science or chemistry.

    • Proven, documentable sales experience preferably, but again not necessarily in business to business sales.

    • Outgoing personality and an ability to get along with people.

    • Solid work ethic.

    • If you have a background in nursing, respiratory therapy etc in lieu of extensive sales experience you might also receive strong consideration

    .

All training is provided. The first year you will be away from home for a 3 week training period and then about 9 months later you will go off for another two week training period. Ongoing training occurs on a local level. After the first year, you may be out of town 5 or 6 days a year. Other than that, you are home sleeping in your own bed every night.

Great territory, great products and a very good manager to work for.

If you are seriously interested, and if you meet the qualifications I listed, please feel free to email me and/or send me your resume. The industry as a whole, not just my company, is pretty adamant about people meeting the qualifications I outlined in order to receive serious consideration. This is a coveted position in a very desirable industry. It is almost impossible to get into this industry without some help from the inside. That is what I am offering here. If this sounds like a good fit for you, or if you know someone who would meet the qualifications and be interested, please email me at: successfulone_1962@hotmail.com

    Thanks.

  7. I wonder if one of the local music shops could point you in the right direction? Like Fret Not or Ken Stanton?

Good luck, I used to play bass myself and have a soft spot for the stand up kind :)

I iwll do that. I figure there has to be a craftsman around here who knows how to do this work.

  8. Hey guys,

Here is my situation. I have a stand up bass guitar (fiddle or doghouse bass for the old timers) that my grandfather began playing during the 1930's and continued to play during USO tours during World War 2. Overall it is in good condition, but it does need some wood work on the bridge and it needs to be re-stringed as well. I do not play, but I do want to refurbish it and keep it.

Do any of you know someone who could do this type of work? If so, please let me know.

    Thanks,

  9. Mary Kay and Brown Bag Party :D

You can do both in your spare time and earn a great amount of money. I make between $300 and $600 a week when I put about 6 hours of time into it. I have been selling Mary Kay for years and it's always there when I need it.

LOL...Thanks for the suggestion and that would be perfect except for the fact that as a man, I just don't think Mary Kay would work for me:) However, $300 to $600 per week would be just about right for what I am trying to accomplish. Any other ideas?:)

  10. I have a good career in outside sales with a large company that allows me to make a comfortable living while maintaining at least a little spare time. I would like to find something that I can do to make some extra money above and beyond what I make from my primary career to set aside for my child's education and for our retirement. I have a strong sales background and would like to find either a product or service that I can sell to either individuals or businesses. If any of you have any suggestions, please feel free to either post them here or send me a private message.

    Thanks,
