  1. I don't think anyone goes out thinking I am going to go & become an addict ....there has to be a starting point and I am not sure what each person's trigger is...a party...an injury ...a tragedy ...what causes some to be good and some evil... some people are followers and think they do what everyone else does...I don't understand it but I am glad it is not something I have not had to deal with on a close personal level....

humalog...10ml....you must have a rx to get humalog ...I think Lantus is also Rx only

R & N regular insulin does not require a RX...there is no generic for Humalog I know as it is what my pump uses and I have to have a RX for it ...

    I use Levemir or Lantus.

sometimes your Dr will let you use regular insulin if you can not get your normal one ....Mine will not with the pump

  3. I take Apidra via: Insulin Pump and I have been getting it for FREE for Almost 2 years now . They have a discount card you can go online and get and is also FREE . If you need any kind of INFO please let me know .

here is the link ... I also get all my insulin at Kroger in Dallas @61/278

this is something Stiff might be able to use....so maybe she can help her husband with this info....and I too hope they got him his insulin...as that is the only way to control his diabetes ....good luck

  4. My husbands doctor is a TRUE DIABETIC specialist!!! He has been around for over 20 years. EVERY patient is different and that's why I told the OP to call their doctor to see if they could take what my husband does because it did help us and it could possibly help them as well.

I went to a TRUE DIABETIC one that has been in practice for 30 years and he almost killed me...went through several doctors & the Endocrinologist told me I was a type 2 ...needed to diet & exercise...that would cure me

never checked to see if I might be a type 1 because I was almost 40...

my doctor only sees is diabetics.....mostly only type 1 .....and he is the one that told me that not all insulins are equal...we tried all of them

if they are on Lantus or Humalog it is dangerous to swap without their doctor ...some diabetics might be able to switch ...each is different....

I can only use Humalog in my insulin pump....and I have several friends that have tried the NPH & R and can not use them

because of the inconsistent range of the hours they act...Lantus & Humalog are the only thing that

works for them too...the R & NPH are the old insulin that has been on the market for many many years

that is why it is much cheaper & if you can use it I hope it works for you but me I have been fighting with

this disease for over 20 years and have tried lots of different way to cope with it....

  5. Lantus & Humalog is what my husband was on. The insulin walmart makes is the same as both of those. His doctor told him about the walmart insulin because at $300 a vial we couldn't afford it and he was calling in asking for samples all the time. Sometimes they didnt have samples to give out. He tried the walmart insulin and it DID work just the same as the name brands. Walmart is the only one who carries Novolin R & N ......... I pray this person finds the help they need. Medicine should not cost this much for anyone!!!!

according to diabetic web site...The peak time of an insulin is the time during which the blood sugar is most affected. The peak time for Novolin N is four to 12 hours after administration. Lantus does not have a peak time because it is released at a constant rate

also it says Novolin is NOT HUMALOG....and does not have the same reaction time...they are not the same....I have been on Humalog for many years as I have a pump and was told by a true DIABETIC doctor that I should never use anything but HUMALOG or NOVALOG in my pump that they are totally different..than any other insulins
