Pubby, I would have to say I respectfully disagree with you on this issue. I am voting "NO". Am I jaded? Yes Do I have my own agenda that does not even involve the schools? Yes I am not afraid to admit that. My reasons for voting no are just as complicated as yours for voting yes. My most feverant reason is the lack of planning and forthought from the BOE right now. While they may not have seen this coming being it denial on their part or not, there is no reason in the world that they can not come up with a long term plan to deal with the continued growth in this county. I am not talking about a simple 5 year plan but an actaul look at all of the possibilities for the next decade. i would like to see them take a stand or state a position on issues relating to school funding. They are not willing to stand up for our children and start lobbying for change on the local and state level and untill they do there will be no change. To me, that says we care more about our political allies than we do about the children. There recent mailers (which I have not received) are deceptive and a poor marketing strategy at best. It almost appears that they to want this bond defeated. I have grown up with dirty political ploys but to stoop to these levels on their part is a new low. Combine that with their disrespect for the community at large and we are a set up for failure whether this bond passes or not. We are truly in a lose/lose position. I hope that if this bond fails, it will provoke some heartfelt discussion on our local political landscape as well as on the state level. We need change but without upset I am afraid things will remain status quo and that will truly be our demise. All eyes are on Paulding right now. We can be a force for the future or we can remain stagnate.
