Silly, there's no such thing as werewolves, right? -
Now that you mention it, He is on a water pill. I forgot about that one. Drink more water, check! Glad it worked out for you and hubby will do fine as long as he can have a sweet every now and then. If we had to take sweets away from him completely, I think I would pack my bags and head to the mountains with mama and daddy! At least until the initial shock wore off, haha! Thanks for the well wishes!

Good to hear, I'm glad he's doing well. I really do appreciate all of the info I can get. Right now my head feels like it's going to explode from trying to take everything in. I'm sure it will be second nature before too long.

He will definitely need way more than 1300 calories a day, I missed that too. He does physical work and he also works out with our teen aged boys, so he def has to eat. Thanks for the suggestions and info. I do like the idea of the six small meals a day though, I will just adjust the portions and calories to suit his needs. I think that will help keep his blood sugar level and avoid the dizziness that Dallas Red spoke of.

Diet and more exercise is definitely going to be our first line of defense. He does take meds for BP and cholesterol. So far that's it. I don't take anything and hope it stays that way for as long as possible. We definitely want to avoid meds if at all possible. Yes, hubby adores sweets. Like I said earlier that will be the challenge.

They are sending the paperwork in the mail. She said all of the other numbers were good but I will be going over the paperwork when I get it. You've given me even more great info, thank you.

I don't FB either but I will hop on my son's or my sister's account sometimes to get caught up on family. Like cranemec said, it is kinda like a train wreck for me too.

Thank you, lots of great info.

I knew it had to be getting close, I felt it. -
I don't know what his fasting number was, I didn't know to ask. I don't have the results in front of me, they just called from the office. I'll find out when they get back from lunch. Thanks for the other numbers, I have a lot to learn. DH will be glad to know that cakes and cookies are still in his future! I'll be picking some of these up, they sound yummy.

Thanks for the links. He and I both gained a little weight over our winter hibernation, LOL. Seriously, we both could stand to lose ten pounds. He could maybe go 10-12 which will be easy for him. Thanks for your help, I'll be pm'ing you with questions after this sinks in a bit.

If ya'll think of anything else, please let me know, I really appreciate everyone's input!

DH has been getting lightheaded so I will try the suggestion of the six small meals a day. I can pack that for work for him. Also, we will be hitting the treadmill more than the tree times a week we've slacked off to. My problem with him is that he looooves cake, cookies, basically anything sugar laden. That's going to be the biggest challenge for him. Thanks for your help!

Thanks, I visited the website and there's tons of info on there. They want to put him on a med called Metformin for three months and then go back to re-test him? Do you have any thoughts on that med? Thank you I will def take you up on the offer of pm'ing you to get info.
-
You have given me a wealth of info, thanks! If you're sure it's ok, I may PM you as I think of questions, I appreciate your offer. Thanks Low! Thank you! I'll be watching him in case he tries to pull a "stradial."

Thank you , I'm feeling educated about this already. I like the sweet potato suggestion a lot! Yes, definitely looking at this as a lifestyle change. We're on an adventure!

Should the chromium be in supplement form as well? How many mg's of each? Thanks.

DH had his yearly physical this past week and I just got word from his doctor that he is pre-diabetic. I would like to hear personal experiences from anyone who has dealt, or is currently dealing with this. I really want to keep it from progressing. I'm going to talk to the doctor more and research online as well. I like to get info from lots of different sources when researching. TIA Thanks ya'll and pray for me! He's not going to like this pre diabetic diet/lifestyle change I'm about to unleash on our family. I figure we'll all start eating healthier together, it can't hurt and he wont f
