There is only slim partial truth to the ad. The information not given was that the law GA had on the books at the time was WORSE... Deal voted to ammend the law so that victims & accused were both given fair treatment... victims rights etc included. They make it sound like Deal held a gun while some man raped some woman. He merely tried to make the antiquated GA law more in following with Federal law. If you go online, you can find various "truth" sites that will give you the scoop on both Barnes & Deal. Click here for Accu Weather They were going off near Old Harris & 278. Lots of bad storms (according to radar online) but no actual WARNING posted on any site. Just watches. Sometimes the alarms go off because the radar shows a "hook" which is often seen before a tornado forms. Its a pain & confuses people but better safe than sorry. Basically, my rule of thumb is to use the sirens as a "go look" alert. If they are going off, I look outside, listen for myself. I have lived through TONS of severe storms and a few tornadoes. Use your gut instincts...!
