bunny
I am considering getting a scanner. I know NOTHING about them. Where do you buy them? I live in the Burnt Hickory area of 61 North. Am I too far out for one to pick up?
DALLASGIRL0618
I am considering getting a scanner. I know NOTHING about them. Where do you buy them? I live in the Burnt Hickory area of 61 North. Am I too far out for one to pick up? I posted in the other topic. Just go to scanpaulding.com and listen through your computer speakers. It costs nothing If you do want to buy one, pretty much any electronics place, radio shack.

Ugadawgs98
Ebay. You do not need the latest and the greatest. Link here.
kenny2000
Ebay. You do not need the latest and the greatest. Link here. Paulding does not use the NEW fancy trunked or digital radio systems so ANY scanner will work just fine, you should be able to find even a hand held one at radio shack for $ 60 - 80. The high end scanners ARE needed for Cobb, Dekalb and Atlanta but NOT Paulding or Douglas. Edited February 27, 2007 by Paulding Scanner
FreeBird
I picked up a Radio Shack Pro-95 handheld model a few years off of ebay. I can listen to the 800mhz systems that are in the area as well as Paulding LTR system. It also has enough channels to program for race day should I go to a NASCAR race. http://radioreference.com/ has some info on radios, etc.
