Clark Funeral Home Posted February 18, 2016 Report Share Posted February 18, 2016 (edited) Johnny N. Austin, age 79, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. He was born on September 29, 1936, in Acworth, GA, to the late John Thomas & Annie Austin, and was preceded in death by his sisters, Bobbie Kraeft and Anne Kilgore, and brother, Roy Austin. Mr. Austin was a United States Air Force veteran, worked in banking and at Cobb County Government Fleet Management, and was a member of Macland Baptist Church. He loved children, gardening and dogs. Mr. Austin also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Jean Austin of Powder Springs, GA; brother, Joe Austin of Powder Springs, GA; nieces and nephews, Stacy & Teddy Oesterle of Powder Springs, GA, Richard & Beth Kilgore of Dallas, GA, Mitchel & Stacy Austin of Dallas, GA, Michele & Travis Brumbelow of Davenport, FL, Michael & Kim Meeks of Tallahassee, FL, LeAnne Spell of Tallahassee, FL, Nicky & Tammy Austin of Rockmart, GA, Denny & Sherry Key Dallas, GA, Jennifer & Kent Jones of Collinsville, AL, and Lorri & Matt Craft of Dallas, GA; brother-in-law, Marion Kilgore of Powder Springs, and Stanley Robert & Vicki Trotter of Glennville, GA; numerous great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 11 AM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Dr. Richard Walker and Reverend Bill Rorie officiating. Interment will follow in Powder Springs Memorial Gardens. Richard Kilgore, Mitchel Austin, Nicky Austin, Bennett Austin, Conner Kilgore, and Teddy Oesterle will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 19, 2016, from 5 PM until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Macland Baptist Church’s General Fund in Mr. Austin’s memory, 3732 Macland Road, Powder Springs, GA 30127.
