Mrs. Hazel Jarrell Griffin

Mrs. Hazel Jarrell Griffin age 89 of Dallas Georgia passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center.

 

 

 

Mrs. Hazel Jarrell Griffin was born in Moundville, AL on December 18, 1921 to loving parents the late Mr. Felix Jarrell and Mrs. Beulah Bennan Clay Jarrell. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Mr. Howard W. Griffin who passed away in 1997; one sister Mrs. Joyce Jordan; four brothers Mr. Rufus Jarrell, Mr. Tom Jarrell, Mr. Jodie Jarrell, and Mr. Lumey Jarrell.

 

 

 

Hazel was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and embroidery. She loved her home and her family.

 

 

 

Mrs. Griffin is survived by three sons Mr. & Mrs. Lamar (Kathryn) Griffin, Mr. & Mrs. David (Wanda) Griffin and Mr. Benny Griffin and Cheryl Long all of Dallas, GA; three grandchildren Mr. & Mrs. Brian (Marla Griffin) Hilburn, Mr. & Mrs. Mark (Janie Griffin) Ventry all of Acworth, GA, Mr. Jason Griffin of Dallas, GA; five great grandchildren Meredith Lynn Dyer, Megan Ventry, A.J. Ventry, Gracie Griffin, Griffin Hilburn; and two sister in laws Mrs. Ava Mayfield of Dallas, GA, and Mrs. Edna Griffin of Dallas, Ga. nieces, nephews, as well as many other beloved family members and friends.

 

 

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Hazel Jarrell Griffin will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 3 pm with the Reverend Kent Bankston officiating. Music will be provided by Jeff Eberhart and Becky Bearden. Serving as pall bearers will be Charles Newman, Jr., Jason Griffin, Rob Kendrick, Brian Hilburn, Mark Ventry, Mike Middleton, and Mike Thurmond. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church Cemetery.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 4 – 9 pm and Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 9 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
