Clark Funeral Home Posted October 4, 2010 Report Share Posted October 4, 2010 Cecil Eugene Horne, Sr., age 80, of Dallas, GA, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010. He was born March 6, 1930 in Moundsville, AL, to the late, Elmer David Horne and the late, Nancy Jarrell Horne. Mr. Horne was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He retired from Ford Motor Company as a supervisor after 35 years of service. Mr. Horne was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lois Haley Horne; sons & daughters-in-law, Cecil E. “Gene” Horne, Jr. & wife, Judy of Dallas and David M. Horne & wife, Bobbie of Douglasville; daughter & son-in-law, Deborah Ann Bragg & husband, Tom of Douglasville; sister & brother-in-law, Agnes Etoy Fain & husband, Ernest of Hiram; grandchildren, Greg DeHerron, Scott Benson, Christy Singley, Ryan Horne, Gabrielle Horne, Jason Bragg, Kyle Bragg, and Katrina Leigh; nine great-grandchildren; and two nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at 11:00 AM, from Poplar Springs Baptist Church, with Dr. Tim Walker, Reverend Terry Marbut and Mr. Scott Benson officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Scott Benson, Ryan Horne, Kyle Bragg, Jason Bragg, Jackie Fain and Gary Fain will serve as pallbearers. The deacon’s of Poplar Springs Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
