FAYETTEVILLE - Retired Air Force Tech. Sgt. Loraine Ford "Wayne" Reece, 78, of 122 Ellington St., died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Reece, a native of Georgia, retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years and 11 days of service. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, in Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service in Fayetteville. Burial will follow, with military honors, in Cumberland Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Ken Earwood officiating. Military servicemen will act as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Verna W. Reece of Fayetteville; two daughters, Sharon R. Kamma and husband Sridhar of Barnsville, Ga., and Janna E. Bean and husband Loy of Jacksonville; four sons, Stephen L. Reece and wife Irma of Longwood, Fla., John B. Reece of Maine, David W. Reece of Miami, and Q. Scott Reece and wife Veronica of McDonough, Ga.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, James M. Reece and wife Mary Ann of Elberton, Ga., Dean Reece of Hiram, Ga., Leslie F. Reece and wife Shirley of Hiram, and Boyd R. Reece and wife Mildred of Piedmont, Ala.; and a sister, Betty L. White and husband Marvin of Winston, Ga. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Reece. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army. Services entrusted to Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service of Fayetteville.
