uabenson1
I recently inherited a bunch of land in Mississippi. Problem, it is 16 section land, don't know much about it. All I know is that its leased, and that the state could take it at anytime if they wanted to build a school on it. Taxes are due on it soon and the 99 year lease is up next year. I just want to know if this is even worth my time or money. Why should I pay taxes on something that is not technically mine if the state can take it? Also, how can you sell it if its leased? Maybe I need to contact a lawyer. Just thought maybe someone on here was familiar with 16 section land.
