Clark Funeral Home Posted February 26, 2009 Report Share Posted February 26, 2009 Maxcie Preston Collins, age 60, of Dallas, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2009. He was born January 28, 1949, in Orangeburg, SC, to the late, Alfred Leroy Collins, Sr. and the late, Lillie Mae Collins. Mr. Collins retired from the U. S. Navy after 23 years of service, and was a 2nd grade teacher at Roberts Elementary in Dallas. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Donna Collins; sons & daughter-in-law, Max Preston Collins, Jr. & wife, Beth of Hiram and Stephen Ryan Collins of Great Lakes, IL; daughters & son-in-law, Michelle Collins of Dallas, Charissa Mayeaux & husband, Christopher of Westwego, LA, and Rebecca “Becca Bill” Collins of Dallas; brothers & sisters-in-law, Al Collins, Jr. & Kathleen of N. Charleston, SC, Lewis Gyles Collins & Trina of Kenedy, TX, and Franklin Woodrow Collins & Linda of Anderson, SC; sisters, Norine Greene of Chesapeake, VA and Faye C. Brill of Orangeburg, SC; grandchildren, Michael Preston Collins, Donna Marie Mayeaux and Zakk Mayeaux; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at 4:00 pm, with Pastor Jeff Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and on Saturday from 2:00 pm until the service time.
