Dean, age 99, of Dallas, Ga. will be held Sunday, February 1, 2009, 3:00 EST at Brookwood Cemetery in Arab, Al. Rev. Joe Stephenson will officiate. Visitation for Mrs. Dean will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009, 2:00-6:00 P.M. at Benson Funeral Home. The Dallas Chapter of the Eastern Star #492 will conduct service at 6:00 P.M. Mrs. Dean was the Most Worthy Grand Matron 2005-2006. Mrs. Dean is survived by: Son, Mr. and Mrs. John (Sandra) Dean of Dallas, Ga.; Grandchildren, Mr. John Paul Dean, Ms. Tamara Coggins-Wenzel, Ms. Ilea Capes-Provost and Mr. Mike Dubose; 7 Great Grandchildren; Nieces/Nephews. Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by: Husband, Mr. Eddie Dean; Parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. (Cora Atkinson) Winterberg; 4 Brothers; 1 Sister. akre0023 Posted January 31, 2009 Report Share Posted January 31, 2009 Irene was the Worthy Matron of the Dallas Chapter when I joined in 2005. She made sure I got active quickly after joining.
