Numerous Sirens on Hwy 61, went by Dallas-Nebo,

There is a wreck.Cross street( Marshal Fuller Rd).Wreck is on 61 South. 2 vehicles as I know of one Dark Brown Bronze looking car. Old gray truck involved it was off the road.

They just extricated someone out. Life flight has been called in.Someone on scene said one of them had a blow out.Both vehicles damaged in front end pretty bad.One going to Grady.Landing zone New Ga. Ball field.To much going on on scanner hard to keep up with what is what. Stuff coming in all over.

I am going NUTS because I can't get my media player to work so that I can listen to the scanner. I have not been able to listen in almost a week. I am glad someone can listen and let us know what is going. I have to drive that way to my sisters. She is on 61 just north of Nebo.

As of 23:20 today (5/18), the lady in the car (I know the person, but withholding the nme until released by the family) is at an Atlanta hospital and is doing okay given the seriousness of the driver-side to driver-side impact. Lots of cuts and bumps for sure (unsure of broken bones and so forth) - it'll be awhile to get it all healed. She is resting now and the doctors will be performing more tests for internal injuries later on tonight or tomorrow. I haven't heard anything about the driver of the truck yet.

UPDATE: the truck driver was a young male who was very upset when his mother and a friend who saw the accident got to him. He kept repeating "I don't know what the f*** happened". He was the one life flighted beacuse his chest hit the steering wheel and he had chest pain and trouble breathing. GOOD NEWS: Both drivers were released from the hospital today! My prayers go out to both of thses families. Such things as this could happen to any of us, please check your tires on a regular basis, blowouts are something no one has contol over. Prayers said and everyone drive safe.
