Greetings!

How neat is this? A P.com BLOG for In Granny's Footsteps! Way to go Pubby, this is just cool-beans!     Well, Soapy is trying to get back into Granny's Footsteps, but I must admit.... it's harder to do than you think. A little over a week ago my MIL died after a battle with cancer. It really has taken it's toll on my family. We're all trying to be gentle with ourselves and also realistic.   So, I promise, it won't be long and I'll have more and more soap in the soap pot, and on the s

Granny's Pine Tar Soap: Testimonial

I just received another testimonial about my Granny's Pine Tar Soap, and I couldn't be more pleased. It really means a lot to me when people benefit from my products.   I thought I'd share it here as well as on my website:   "I developed rosacea after I had shingles this past year and it totally changed my complexion. The shingles were on the left side of my face and this area was the most affected by the rosacea. My dermatologist gave me a couple medicines and they helped a little bit

Granny's Pine Tar Soap & Spa Salt Bars

Well, I'm in rush mode trying to get packaging and labelling done. Hope to update the website's inventory very soon. I have sugar scrubs to add, Granny's Pine Tar Soap, and Spa Salt Bars. A few other new scents will be added as well!   Granny's Pine Tar Soap:   Some of the ol'timers out there may have heard of Pine Tar Soap..... it was a favorite natural remedy of our Grandparents, and their parents before them. This is one of those "ol'time products" that Granny was right about....

Going on a short trip!

In Granny's Footsteps is going on a mini-vacation. I'll be gone from Saturday, March 31, 2007 until April 4th. "Granny" and hubby are slipping away to the beach for a few days. I'll come back relaxed and refreshed, and ready to mix up new delights for you!   For those of you traveling somewhere for spring break, have a safe trip, and a lot of fun!

Fisherman Soap

I have a batch of Fisherman Soap that is on the drying rack. It will be offered for sale soon via my hubby's sportsman website.   If you like the smell of licorice, you'll like this soap. It's made with Anise EO which not only covers human scent, but has been used by fisherman for a long time to attract FISH. Some even use this to wash hooks with! I also added a little bit of ground oatmeal to it for a little 'scrubby' action for hands. Perfect to carry in the tackle box, or leave on

Carpe Diem!

On days like today is when I love to be out in the Soap-Barn creating new batches of soaps, sugar scrubs, lotions or balms!   Hope you have a great day! Carpe Diem!

Back to Soaping!

Well, it's been over a month since I soaped anything. I think I was beginning to go through withdrawals!   Now that I've fully recovered from surgery, I thought today would be a perfect day to soap.   SOOOoo, today, in the soap pot we had:   ~ A test batch of my new "Save Face" soap, designed for people with skin that tends to be slightly oily, or has break-outs. This soap features cosmetic grade French Pink Clay, collodial oatmeal, honey, and the essential oils of Tea-Tree, Lavender

Back in town!

We enjoyed our short break, a mini-vacation if you will, down to S. GA. It was great to spend some time with family on "home turf".   I'll be having surgery this coming Monday, so I'll have IGF "closed" for the week.   Thanks for all the well wishes and support.

A Surprise Trip!

My dear hubby sprung a surprise on me last night. Not only will our son Dragonboy be leaving this weekend for a week away to Washington DC (gulp! This is the first time he's been away from us for this amount of time, and that far away... first time flying too!!!) BUT dear hubby and I will be going to Sandestin for a few nights! He won this trip last year and we only had a small amount of time left to use it or it would have expired, so just the two of us are going.   So, Soap'Granny won

A Monday Update on my Son

Say a prayer.... light a candle.... do a silly dance.... whatever you do spiritually speaking, remember Gareth and all of us on Thursday.   We're heading back to the Children's Hospital in Jax. on Thursday. He's going to have an endoscopy and a colonoscopy w/ biopsy. We're hopeful that this will be the final puzzle piece with this health. It'll either show nothing of significance which will indicate the IBS, or maybe it'll show something else, or irritation, etc. I'm just ready to know 100% wh
